Simataa Simataa details plans of Kamanga-led FAZ to revive soccer standards

Share

FAZ interim Committee secretary General Simataa Simataa

THE Andrew Kamanga executive committee says it will embark on an ambitious plan to revive flagging soccer standards in Zambia if ushered into office at the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) annual general meeting (AGM) in March when a no-confidence vote is passed against the Kalusha Bwalya-led FAZ executive.

General secretary in the Kamanga executive, Simataa Simataa said once allowed by the FAZ Council to run football affairs in Zambia, the committee would strengthen current provincial amateur football associations (PFAs) and make them responsible under the FAZ associations’ sub-committee in superintending soccer affairs in each of the nine provinces.
Simataa said each PFA would then create district football associations (DFAs), which would go on to supervise amateur, women, youth, beach and futsal teams in each of Zambia’s 73 districts.

He said each PFA would be required to pick a senior provincial select side, Under-21, 19, 17, 15, 13 and 11 teams, emphasising on the need to respect age groups by ensuring that players play under the correct age-group.
The Amakumbi Stars proprietor, who as age-group national trainer assembled a talented Zambia Under-17 squad that featured the likes of Rainford Kalaba and Clifford Mulenga, both now professional players outside the country, said ideally all the districts should have similar select sides.

“Inter-provincial tournaments for each age group shall be introduced where national teams for each age level shall be selected – a selector group for Under-11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 and select side.

“This will require at least 35 people hopefuly with a scouts’ eye for players. Each selector group member shall only work with the age group they are chosen to. So each selector shall serve only in one age group,” he said.

Simataa said ultimately, one member of each selector group from a province would serve on the national selector group for each age group.

He said his executive intended to have a national selector group for each age group and each PFA should appoint a selector group of no less than five people for each age group team.

“Each provincial team must have a male and female team for each age category consisting of 30 persons — 23 players (three goal keepers and 20 field players) plus three coaches, plus two medical staff, one welfare (team) manager and one delegation leader. It is important to note that all female team welfare managers shall be female,” he said.

He said DFAs would be formed and affiliated to their respective PFAs, with Division Two restricted to the district or two or three neighbouring districts as the first league at district level would be called Division Two.

Simataa said promotion to provincial Division One league would be through a play-off between district Division Two league leaders in the provinces.

“Reserve leagues can be created under the district structure. PFAs must encourage of youth leagues in each district. PFAs must encourage the creation of futsal leagues in each district. PFAs must encourage the creation of beach football leagues in each district,” he said.

He said FAZ, like FIFA, would superintend over soccer activities across the country and a full-time secretariat would be opened under each PFA, including the Zambia Professional League (ZPL).

He said the 10 secretaries-cum-registrars under the direct supervision of the FAZ general secretary would be attached to each of the PFA and the ZPL, with an ultimate plan to be based in the respective provincial headquarters.

“PFA, like CAF, shall superintend soccer activities across their provinces. This will include Division One clubs and district football associations. You will notice that if the structure of provincial Division One is agreed, the clubs left over will form Division Two.

“Division One and Two clubs, like FAZ, shall be members of the FAZ Council in addition to their respective PFAs. All Super Division clubs shall be superintended by the Zambia Premier League as well as members of the FAZ Council in addition to their respective PFAs,” he said.

  1. iwe simata simata becareful with what you do this is not barotseland. let kalu do his job, you are just causing confusion.

  2. When did you fail to implement this manifesto when you had a chance bo simata but opted to resign? You personal hetred againist KALU should not spread to other pipo. Kulu is beyond you reach you may have a degree but he is smater than you. Even if you succeed in this coup. Kalu will never be your class. He will surely find anothe job. Will see how you work coz remember the bible says he who kills by the sword…….

  3. \:d/\:d/\:d/\:d/\:d/\:d/kalu will surely never be your class bo simataa, you are below him……Danny alimba,he will sure find another job………………….tata you are failure……and selfish..:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((:((

  4. Comments 5 and 7 depends on how you define class. Simata is not in Kalu’s class whaen class is looked at from fame and soccer skills angle. When class is defined in terms of intellect, Kalu is not in Simata’s class. In my opinion, class is not important in the case of soccer administration in Zambia. What class is Teddy Mulonga in if I may ask? Kalu the so called top class has failed while low class individuals have done good, good jobs.

  5. thats an ambitious programe simata and i have no doubt you and kamanga can implement it. simata was interim faz president. simata loves the game from afar. look at how he transformed city ya moto when he was chairman. for the first time city had a bank account and was able to run profitably from clubhouse and get takings earnings. simata you will hate him bcos he is honest he is not a crook like kalusha. even at finance bank simata was director and was hounded out bcos he couldnt stand the shoddy mathani deals. noel nkoma a junior then could attend management meetings while simata was shunned bcos they knew he was not going to bought with a piece of silver

  6. simata go to hell, this man is just power hungry,he has neva praise kulu for whatever he does,he always opposes, simataa was once faz president ,why did he not do that in his time?go to hell simataa.kalu will win next elections and also win a post at caf o fifa,go go kalu go

  7. Iwe lady Gaga, what’s up between you and Noel Nkhoma? This kind of hatred will take you to an early grave. Let the man be! If he didn’t chop you, forget and move on with your life. If he chopped you and then when on to chop others, that’s life. Forget him. Live and learn.

  8. There is no FAZ Interim Executive. FIFA were gracious enough to provide minutes of the meeting in Zurich. So where are you as reporters getting this

  9. #13 kagwizi yours is short but to the point. simata needs support bcos he is upright and not crooked like kalusha. simata wants to develop the game of soccer. i remember when he used to play for madala finance bank madals football really became very popular. even at city he was hated by diehard city supporters bcos he brought to an end drinking on chit and made sure he collected all that was owed. those who love zambian soccer should give kamanga and his team support. what with the coming of two new stadia zambia under kamanga can host africa cup

  10. Leaders are supposed to give direction and should always be a step ahead of the those they are leading. I believe Simataa’s proposal is progressive and all he needs is to sell his idea and get everybody on board. It is a shame that Zambian football is slowly sinking in the mire all because of a few selfish individuals. Go go Simataa go …

  11. Thats the way to go.This is how football is run in South Africa and England. The way football is currently run in Zambia is based on the post independence structure where one man directs things. We need to move with modern trends in Football administration.Even Blater does not have as much power in FIFA as Kalusha does in FAZ.

  12. ““Inter-provincial tournaments for each age group shall be introduced where national teams for each age level shall be selected – a selector group for Under-11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 and select side.”

Those are the kinds of plans we need to hear from a FAZ presido. Not only seeing him SA tv talking about football that does not even concern Zambia. It Seems some pipo are mersmarised by Kalu. The fact that FAZ is in such disarry, fighting between coaches, fighting between coach and office, fighting with refs and embarssingly disorganised matches were visas and accomdation, even office clarks chossing the team, does not seem to bother them.

  13. #20 Do not use derogatory language if you do not have any point to put across. Why don’t you tell us what you would do for Zambia football if you where in Kalu or Simataa’s position? It is very easy to be an arm chair critic.

  14. its quite an ambitious plan bo simataa but a good one which is long overdue. the implementation should go side by side with the development of infrastructure in all the nine provinces. this should not end at lip service and this time around dont resign when the getting gets tough once u are there. one faz one football

  15. Ba Simaata becareful with what you ve started and saying. If at all you succeed with your plans , these people you see will just give you one year and if you do not not perform the same ll be done to your executive. Remember you are creating a precidence. At anytime people ll rise up and pass a vote of no comfidence. Careful with what you ve started. If I were you I would wait for 2012, this year use it for serious compains. Lady Gaga kwata amano

  16. At least they have plans put in place which we can hold them accountable if they dont do as they plan.Simata is not alone why are you trying to make him look like he caused Kalusha kind of administration of football, lets have good football like we had during the days of people like King Mhango. Gibby Zulu , Richard Stevenson from Zambia schools is what is needed to correct what has happened to football in our country. SO DONT THINK SIMATA HATES KALU BUT KALU WANTS TO MAKE DEALS FOR BEING PRESIDO OF FAZ.

  17. Bo Simaata squared, that’s a very ambitious programme which i believe if implemented can really take Zambia very far. However,am very cautious because as long as you don’t have the support from state house, your plans will just be as good as T.P.
    Wish you luck!

  18. This chap Simataa Simataa is just an opportunist, a job seeker who will bring nothing to FAZ but confusion. All they are thinking about is how well they are going to enrich their pockets once they take over-what do you expect from a group of crooks in good books with the MMD- nothing but corrupt deals! Kalu has done a lot considering the deals he has executed on behalf of FAZ since he took over at FAZ. But as usual, pa ZED people do not want to commend others for the good they have done due to our greediness, selfishness and petty jealous-its our nature as Zambians, and that is why our country will keep lunging behind.

  19. Lady gaga, i agree with you on MMD,but on Simata no! No! We chased simata at UNZA stars due to continous conflicts. He resigned FAZ presido on his own.he joined Never’s ncc & resigned after 2 weeks. Iam told he is about to resign in PF to join us. He is very unstable. Nscz’s late judge lewanika refused to support him to stand as committ member in Mulongas Faz. You cant trust the guy.

  20. Good Idea. But couldn’t you have just proposed this plan to FAZ before the wrangles? We shall wait and see.

“He said each PFA would be required to pick a senior provincial select side, Under-21, 19, 17, 15, 13”.

Please also include the re-introduction of “Zambia B” Team.

  21. iyee i fimina fya buloka icimona chobe go to barotse land and protect your people.you lozis why are you always jeolous.no wonder you are killing your own brohers imitima shalyuma kwati ni mpe………;iwe simather call you failed at faz why do behave like a high na.let your friend do his part ugly face

  22. Guys come on be realistic. Since when did you become experts at knowing who is better at football management? Simataa Simataa still has his Makumbi stars, where is Kalusha and his K-Stars???? The only thing Kalusha has managed to build out of K-stars is a law suit from his former manager because he never paid him his redundancy package when K-stars collapsed! So what are you talking about Kalusha being beyond Simataa? All of you are of the low calibre of Kalusha that is why you are too low to see Simataa’s acheivements. Don’t use tribalism to criticise him, because if that is the case do you think other tribes were s.t.u.p.i.d to vote for Kalusha? Kalusha was given his chance but he has screwed igt after masturbating all over independence stadium! Imwe abasha sambilila mulimbuli sana!

  23. Kalu Galu kuyabebele. Zambia is not for illetrate egos. We must move on. We appreciate your little contribution to Zambian football – becuase you never played alone – but it is time to go! We are tired of scandal after scandal, you and RB have made Zambia a laughing stock! We have learnt from Chiluba and you great galu, that we shall never again put into power a high school drop out. You guys who never finished school are a problem to deal with, especially with your army of illiterate supporters! We will move forward and forget about you, as we have about Chiluba. Just go home and enjoy the money you stole from World Cup tickets and selling players illegally! Twanaka pafula!

  24. # 28 JOBURG
The pipo are not jealous. The botto line is We want a FAZ leader who is on the ground runing FAZ with the aim of a rebuilt. We all know that to be a football power, we need to improve grassroots football. How is Kalu going to do all this from his seat in SA ?. He may have overseen some sponsor deals with SA tv, which if the job of FAZ inany case, but on overall FAZ is in disarry. No one is seeing to football day in day out at home. He lives in another country, he a part time presido, nowounder FAZ is in so much turmoil. It is time to have a Football association president who lives and works in Zambia seeing Zambian grassroots football and rebuilding from the scratch. Anif Adams would have done a better job at maneging our football than that part timer expartriate Kalusha

  25. Lady Gaga, Simata ran City profitably? why then did he resign from City. and why isnt he running amakumbi profitably. like some have observed, let him join his clansmen causing confusion in western province. simataa is possesed na demon ya confusion.

  26. Who is going to give you all the money ba simata……u are a selfish man who is determined to accomplish a coup d tat in futbol….y can`t u wait for 2012…..surely u shall reap what u sow!!!! u enter by the window u shall come out by the window…r u sure in all u can analyse …Kalusha`s administration has done total rubbish? U r just sowing a seed of hatred and that is what u shall reap!!! who is going to sponsor your under 11, 12, 13 , 14 , 17 and so on…..ZCCM is not there…there are chinese and infesters now and believe me MTN will not attend to u. Mine companies they even fail to sponsor a premier team in their areas……kayaaaaaaa.

  27. #23 Abena Nsofu

There is nothing derogatory in calling a spade a spade.Kalusha ,as FAZ president, has preferred to act or make decisions unilaterally without concern for other stakeholders.Hence the current wrangles in FAZ and the resultant forced confidence vote from FIFA.
Everybody knows that FAZ is an association exclusive to it’s members. For one to make any meaningful contribution to FAZ,he/she has to be a signed up member. This means that you have be either a club official or owner.Since I’m neither,I will not waste my time talking about what I can do for FAZ as you are suggesting.
However I will applaud and support any sensible plan of action and contributions to develop Zambian football from any FAZ member. In this case I applaud the Simataa and Kamanga group’s proposed…

  28. Why government charging innocent Lozi with treason, and Simataa Simataa is walking free without even a bell on the neck? SIMATAA must be incarcerated without trial, there are only 2 things that make Zambia, politics and soccer. Simataa has staged a coup on one of them, so he must be crucified at Mukobeko.

  29. Kalu must just go and his stupid eric mwanza.issues to do with constition are aproblem.Kalu violeted the constitutuion.thats y he has all these problems.Bo simaata go ahead.we cant all talk.do the talking.

  30. Please let simataa leave Kalu team finish their term. What assurance is their that GS for Kalu team will include an agenda item such as”A vote of no confidence””.

  31. For sometime, some of these dreams are the same tabulated on the FAZ paper e.g the ZPL hence the Chisamba meeting!

    ZPL:
It will be difficult presently to roll over the ZPL as every club including Amakumbi must have identifiable address with an operating office quiped with club database e.g players stats etc. The clubs have still to put their houses in order with collaboration of FAZ.

    MARCH ELECTION:
From my humble understanding of the ‘no confidence vote’; there is NO way we gonna have FAZ elections in March because members at the next AGM must vote for passing the vote of no confidence taking into account if the GS includes the motion on the agenda. Technically, this motion can only be included in the AGM agenda if there is proof of abrogation of the FAZ constitution or…

  32. If ever Kamanga/Simataa will succeed in taking over the Faz realm, then the precedent would have been set.next time it will be them being voted out by disgruntled people and the circle will go on and on.Bottom line is food as a whole will suffer.Personally i would like the Kalu group to finish their term and let deserving people take over, not fly by night tactics.

  33. When Kalu was Zambia National Team Coach with a salary of about $10,000 per month, pipo complained that he was getting too much money.

I have unconfirmed reports that the new coach from Italy gets $62,000 per month and lives in a hotel @ tax payers expense! I dont hear pipo complain!!!

Zambians need to stop hating each other so much. Insults and petty jealous will not take the country any where.

Start loving yourselves more than you love foreigners. UKUTUPA!!

  34. Good move!!! This looks like a replica of Zambia schools back in the day. There is a lot of untaped talent in rural areas that can contribute effectively to our failing soccer standards. This is how GBFC thrived back in the day. They went round the country playing local teams and thereafter recruited the best. Examples are Jones Chilengi, Laban Chishala, Green Mambwe, ……the list is endless. I hope these guys are ushered into office come March.

  35. Whatever this Simataa says i don’t trust pantu walubuli. Always finding himself muma controversy, awe mwandini! Always back door nga nalisambilile i was going to challenge him but isukulu mwandini tapaba nine form two wakale. Let him wait for Kalu to finish his term

  36. @50 ZUMA – even if a precedent is set that is fine. We are not going to be stuck with a leader just because he has another term to serve. What if in the remaining time he finishes killing you? We chased Kaunda in 1991/92 from State House through the most violent protests in the country since independence. Nobody talked about waiting for his term to finish. We happily put Chiluba into State House. When his two terms ended Chiluba wanted to play tricks but was reminded about what happened to Kaunda and he left power. So the lesson from this will be that FAZ Presidents from now own will behave and occupy Football house to work for Zambian football, because if they don’t they know that they can be voted out with a no-confidence at anytime! It is a good thing. I don’t hate Kalu.

  37. Simataa Good Plan. Whilst I hate the know it all Kalu mentality and his quest for self centeredness, But also Simataa and kamanga needs to convince me and a lot of Zambians how they wil raise money and tthat be accountable to the FAZ affiliates. Basically raising funds and accountability.

  38. Here is a guy with football brains. Exactly wat Zed needs. I love Kalu the man & the legend. But for Faz job, he is grossly misplaced. We can best apply Kalu to his strengths. Admin & People skills are not his thing. Thats why Pele aint presto for Brazil soccer, nor Diego for Argie, Mila for Cameroon or Weah for Liberia.

  39. Ba Simaata where are going to get money to sponsor those teams you are talking about? MTN, SUPERSPORT, KCM? You ll see what it is when you enter someones office and you are told, TAKULILI NDALAMA. Dont think that your friends have never tried that. Icilufumo icho cikapompoloka. *****

  40. I saw this guy with his Kamanga in Ndola last weekend. He does really look like a chola boy indeed. What happened to him? some time back i remember seeing him in a luxuriuos car with a FBZ XXX number plate.
