I will turn Souhern Province into MMD stronghold-Keemba

Share

Newly elected Southern Province MMD Chairman Edcar Keemba has said he is determined to work tirelessly and turn Southern Province into a stronghold of the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy.

Speaking to ZANIS at Garden Motel in an interview in Lusaka today after the official opening of the Lusaka Province MMD Conference, Mr. Keemba vowed that even if Southern Province was the strong hold of the United Party for National Development (UPND), he and his team were fully geared to go full throttle to convince the people in the region to support the MMD.

Mr. Keemba said it was detrimental for the people of Southern Province to always belong to the opposition for a long time, saying it was now high time the people of the province thought of joining the ruling party.

He further said, he would persuade the people of Southern Province to support President Banda’s leadership, for the province to benefit fully from the programs unfolding in the province.

“Southern Province cant remain permanently a spectator. I will work hard to convince the people there to support President Banda in the fourth coming tripartite elections”,said Mr Keemba.

Mr. Keemba said he was going to talk to all the traditional leaders in the province to find the way forward with regard to supporting President Banda.

  1. You must be dreaming. Mulalota badaala ba Edgar, Southen province!!!. SP votes for quality, not thieves, failures, Dinosaurs or corrupt leaders.

  2. If I was HH I would negotiate a binding agreement with MMD on sharing positions in Cabinet but even more importantly guaranteeing a new constitution like the ODM has recently successfully negotiated with the Kibaki led PNU and also like what MDC is doing in Zimbabwe right now. Odinga is now well positioned to be the next president of Kenya without getting any guarantees of standing as HH would like now. In politics it is nonsense to try to obtain a guarantee on someone being the next President as ultimately the decision is made by the voters. Who is to say that HH even if he stands on an MMD ticket will win in 2016 but if we had a new constitution HH would stand the best chance as he would be identified as the man who united the country at a crucial time rather than be the one who supporte

  3. #4, Forget this notion of HH negotiating a deal with MMD, nobody needs him except those in his party.
In any case anyone who cohabits with Sata cannot be a genuine leader but an opportunist.

  4. MMD CHAIRMAN, W e support you and your team, we shall turn Southern Province into MMD stronghold, WATCH THIS SPACEl-)**==

  5. Keembe malya buumi azo ngowamba mulombwana. We shall see you. You are day dreaming. Ucili acinywe mulombwana. You just want to impress MMD. I am coming back home in June or July to campaign for HH and the opposition and not MMD (Mwanya Mwamana Dooo….). I am not impressed with the performance of MMD. There is too much corruption, intolerance, poor governance. RB was to complete 3 years of the MMD, but he has now found power sweat as his political consultant, FTJ, used to say. Keembe tukoombona mulombwana. Ndimunzyila ndashika onoono bulyo. Let RB announce the election date.

  6. Mulombwana waku Maala zuma wazuma walya mankoma uli munzyila kuhwa ku….I am coming with everything. Watch out for me and my powerful campaign team. Tandizowi bantu balya maila. Viva SP under the leadership of HH.

  7. #5.
Good Point. HH might be a good person for our politics but it defeats me why with all his supposed intelligence he has decided to go to bed with Sata. MMD can do without him and still find a good leader in 2016 – Mutati, Chituwo, Kavindele and of course Maureen who can still win them an election and keep them in power. However, if HH is ever going to ascend to plot one, a coalition, merger or alliance with MMD gives him a better opportunity to realise that dream.

  8. South province will never be influenced by fools. Why shououl we entrust our future with the likse of RB who wont be part of it.To hell with MMD!

  9. Keembe, do not talk like you do not know southerners, we know you still have the fever but hold your breath because your word will soon catch up with you. Southerners are people who think independently, and go for quality not where the wind blows. They are never bothered even if they are in the opposition, they believe in once beaten twice shy. They have been in the opposition for 10 years now, but have received better share of investment compared to other provinces who voted for the ruling party. These are people who can stand on their ground when they know that what they believe in is right, especially when it comes to corrupt governments. Anything to do with thieving and corruption they cannot never be part because they believe a leader should be clean and beyond reproach.

  10. Southerners will never believe in MMD again because Chiluba cursed the party by bringing in corruption. People of southern province believe in hard work, there is even a saying that goes like,”if you are preaching about salvation to southerners, never say in paradise there won’t be work” because no one would be converted to that ministry or faith. If you want to convert them say, there will be work and enjoyment in paradise because these people believe in enjoying their sweat.

  11. He is called Edcar, no such name, kunyo kwako, yu better be real, stop dreaming, watalika kutu sampuzya, yu shud sleep when yu have enough,. koinka ku keemba, before we get you napping, kunyo kwako te wanfva

  12. The Southern vote has historically been the hardest vote to get. Even UNIP in it’s prime could not get it. And believe me, the respect for MMD in the south at this point is not very high.

  13. Badaala ba Keembe, when did u leave UPND? At the last Lwiindi Ceremony you were campainging for HH & driving 1 of his vehicles.uU were saying that Zambia cannot be led by old & tired brains!

What has changed now? I wonder if u’ve handed back to HH his vehicle coz last month I saw u driving it. Politics of benefits at play!!!

  14. Is it Edgar Keembe or it is another person reported as Edcar Keemba? I tend to dislike to this website for their numerous mistakes. I wonder if someone passed composition paper at Form v or grade 12? I hate reading stupid mistakes.

  15. upnd is dead, there is no leadership. busy boasting about the caliba of our mps but they can not organise the party…if upnd has the most educated mps why are we failing to convince the masses to support our leader?? how can the educated fail to convince the unducated voters??

  16. Muzyamba is disliked by the MMD in Southern province. RB did not like him too because he became prominent during the Mwanawasa era. All those who were close to Mwanawasa are going and may have to join the opposition.

  17. #17 it is very difficulty to convince the people of Zambia what is right. Education level is very low. Our voters believe in handouts, tribe and not policies. Even if we say Mazoka lost due to rigging but there was also big tribal influence by Chiluba, all bemba speaking provinces voted for Mwanawasa and they gave Mwanawasa big numbers of votes. Mwanawasa lost in Central province where part of his family came from. Policies never work in Zambia, people never listen when you are campaigning, they want food. Tribalism is a very big infleunce and even this year it will come to who the bemba speaking provinces llike more between Sata and Chiluba. I say Chiluba because the strategy RB has used is to weaken Sata by deliberately influencing the courts to aquit Chiluba. Forget about policies.

  18. Edgar Keembe is an orpotunist who always want to go were wind blows , Southerners believe independently and they don`t get swayed for monetary gains , come election day Southerners will vote for good gorvornance, corrupt free leaders. Badaala kamulya ino muya kuteyeya mazuma boya bwan`gombe..

  19. Pesi edigar talubihide pe. Basa kamuyeya ndakomba, HH wazumina kulelwa ahhh Sata. Mulimasimpe kutti muyanda kuttti tukalelwe ahh Sata. Awo pepe, Edgar koya mudala ubeleka masipe, unjane nzila yakutii uyu HH watu sambala kuli Sata ajane buyuyumu mumwi mumasena, ambweni SP iyotuhuna mukambo kakulelwa kumusondoshi oyu HH ubanka walowegwa. akambo ka pacti ahh Sata. Koyinka mudala ubelekesha kutegwa bana bangu batakabi nobayolelwa amusondokede!!! HH wandi tiyopya mebo ndimambila ka simpe, ndalikumuyanda, akambo ka pacti, mudaala ndagwisha ten marks, aka kambo tokakenhya kabotu, kochiyeye mudala wangu!!!

  20. No Pact. HH is not a fool. Time will tell! I will also leave the diaspora and come to reinforce HH’ s campaign. Viva UPND!!

  21. edgar keembe the male nurse, ask kaunda hw southeners dont a f@c?…..its the only province with filling stations every 60 miles en those ne!!s dont a phunk abt govt positions

  22. Forget about HH ever becoming our head of state, no Lozi or Tonga shall be Zambian president as long as your people are playing tribal politics. Even if all Tongas and Lozis voted for HH the rest of Zambia will vote for a sensible RB as he advocates unity. Look what we did to your Mazoka, Chona and Nkumbula x2 even your cousin Levi had to go , Tonga President is a no no it will never happen as long as you are tribalists.Sata and HH are experienced losers 2 each give it up

  23. 22 Blue# baadala forget about HH COMING into power, imagine if an oppostion leader in the west losing his party an election not once but twice? HH a good loser a very experienced loser for that matter twice is too much in politics. Better still change your partys name to TTP TONGA TRIBALIST PARTY because they are the only people you have

  24. # 24-26. u ar a frustrated individual and pls kep yr misery away from SP.the stinking zambian presidence u ar proud of does not move the hearts of southerners.forget yr anus for a southerner to support thieves, courrpt thugs.

    Omuzindo..!

  25. Mind you Southern has the third largest number of Voters in Zambia, if MMD doesn’t need it then we do not care because we are just comfortable in the opposition. We have influenced a lot of things while in the opposition. Many people in this province are enlightened and believe in themselves, their values mean more than cheap politics of thieves and thugs. This time around Banda will not get the votes he got in 2008 because many are frustrated with the past events e.g the shooting of miners by Chinese and many are not happy with the handling of the whole saga. If you want to win Southern first learn to listen to the voices of the conservatives as cheap politicking does not move their hearts. They voted for Chiluba in 1991 but when he proved untrusted they changed their minds forever.

  26. For Southerners what is important for them is an MP or leader who can fight for their rights the way Garry Nkombo did with the Nickel Mine of Munali. People of Mazabuka will always go for the opposition because thats where substance is. With the help of the opposition, displaced people of Mugoto(Munali) were the most compansated in Zambia. In short it is not about tribalism but a leader who can meet you at a point of need. This time Banda aimwanga Ku Mazabuka.

  27. Mr. Keembe, I know you very exited that you have grabbed the post from Mr. Solomon Muzyamba. But know that what you are saying is a dream. Anyway DREAMS are free. Dream on. There is no way the people of Southern Province will turn agaianst HH and UPND. No way. YOu are not going to make any in-roads. I understand you. You are meant to say something after winning that MMD post so that RB will be cheated / decieved that you are working.

  28. Mr. Keembe, I know you very exited that you have grabbed the post from Mr. Solomon Muzyamba. But know that what you are saying is a dream. Anyway DREAMS are free. Dream on. You are meant to say something after winning that MMD post so that RB will be cheated / decieved that you are working. Those chiefs you talking about who are pro-MMD have no following abena John Malambo alias Chief Mwanachingwala, they are cadres not Chiefs.

  29. No.13 you made my day. Oyu muntu Keembe sure watusampuzya. Am sure ulalota mwati ulikwene. We indeed vote for quality and for as long as we do not see it we shall remain in opposition. Better alone than with bad campany.

  30. Good thing is we Southerners do not get our bread and butter from politics. We work and earn a living decently so politics is just one of those things.

  31. edgar keembe we wish you success in your endevours. hope this actually works out bcos the pipo of zambia want progress and not insults and empty promises from PF and upnd .we do not eat insults or promises. Keembe lets go cwee cwee cwee
