Historically, Nc’wala, Kuomboka, Chambo Chalutanga, Likumbi Lya Mize, Mutomboko, Ukusefya Pa Ngwena, and many more traditional ceremonies in the country have been politics free.
Now these ceremonies have been turned into political events. Where long political speeches are made resulting into political intimidation and bullying.
No doubt the PF acting president Given Lubinda was ejected from Nc’wala ceremony by president Hakainde Hichilema.
Hon. Lubinda, who is the current acting president for the main opposition party the Patriotic Front (PF) is alleged to have been ejected from Nc’wala ceremony of Ngoni people of Eastern Province of Zambia. Report says president Hakainde Hichilema instructed the ejection.
On the party Facebook page, PF Secretary general Nickson Chilangwa states that when Hon. Lubinda arrived at Mtenguleni, the usual venue for the ceremony, he was ushered to his VIP seat by Mr Noel Nkoma, the patron of the Ncwala ceremony organising committee.
Mr. Chilangwa states that Lubinda arrival was recognized and announced by the Director of ceremonies.
He says after an hour and just when the arrival of the Republican President Hakainde Hichilema was announced, Mr. Nkoma approached Lubinda and told him that he had been instructed by a senior security officer of the Republican President that he Lubinda is being asked to leave.
According to Mr. Chilangwa, the PF acting president requested to speak to the concerned officer who had issued the instructions for him to leave. The officer informed Lubinda that he was commanded to ensure that the PF leader was made to leave because they did not want any confusion to take place in the presence of president Hakainde Hichilema.
State house has responded by saying the allegations are aimed at tarnishing the integrity of President HH. Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Bwalya is quoted on ZNBC news claiming that Mr. Lubinda and his team failed to keep and observe the basic protocol and expectations designed to maintain order and the dignity of the Nc’wala traditional ceremony.
If that is true, Lubinda and his team failed to keep and observe the basic protocol in relation to HH presence not the ceremony itself. As a former minister and longtime politician, no doubt Lubinda has enough experience on how to behave at traditional ceremonies.
Definitely no experience on how to behave around HH. Hence can be concluded that the PF acting president was ejected from Nc’wala ceremony by presidential protocol team or HH himself.
My appeal to the chiefs is that they should stop inviting vultures aka as politicians. The events are basically family affair and outside the family only tourists must be allowed.
A normal person is able to see in the picture behind tagged “Minister of Youths & Sports.” That roll was reserved for ministers and government officials. Your useless public outcry will destroy the PF party. Lubinda can just leave the party into the hands of the people that are matured and ready to lead an opposition party. If you destroy PF then the ruling party will grow wings.

So, whats your exact point? If he was told to move from the role reserved for minister, what’s wrong with that? From cheating that Chikwanda got sick during intorogations by the ACC, now more fake stories, we know ba PF now. When it comes to manufacturing stories, they are masters of deceit. We can make a very big thriller movies from the corrupt tribal PF lies
They are full of fake stories, remember the fake opinion polls they put up just before elections that they were winning the August 12 elections, that is PF for you.
Can HH with all his busy schedule just focus on Lubinda to say eject him, some thinking mwandi, no wonder the country is in the this state, and unfortunately PF time wasters are busy with this issue and yet our students safety is at stake in Ukraine
The only mistake here is that they moved Given Lubinda where he was seated initially to the VVIP and later asked him to go back, but in all fairness this has nothing to do with the President, this is squarely an organizing committee issue, which they should look at in the event postmortem meeting and send a formal apology to Given Lubinda arising from what the postmortem will say, no matter how PF always want to paint the President black, Even a kid knows that a President would not be in discussions of who sits where at ceremonies
Ok guys , wow, wait. Let’s say that even if Lubinda was chased by HH(which won’t happen), so what?
These guys deserved to be picked by their belt waist cos they themselves used to chase people in broad day light.

The problem is that most of our politicians lack maturity. They also lack innovation and that’s why we see the same old tactics repeated over and over again. Davies Mwila and PF conducted countless defection ceremonies throughout ECL’s 2nd tenure but still lost elections hands down. The UNPD have also started to organize and repeat the same tactic, they haven’t read that defections don’t have any bearing on the Party’s standing in the eyes of Zambians. I can bet that this isn’t the last drama we’re witnessing at a traditional ceremony. There’ll be more. This is the level of our political engagement. There might even be arrests arising from some fracas at a function like this
A lot of conclusions will surely be drawn – but Mr Lubinda himself, appeared to know his place at the function, & sat well away from the “forbidden” area! The incredulity of it all, is that, someone decided to move him into the “power block” seating – only to ask him to move again! This is discourteous & unacceptable treatment. Unreserved apologies by all concerned are very much due!

Blame it all on Noel Nkhoma who was patron of the Ncwala organising committee. He is UPND and stood for the Luangeni parliamentary seat. He ushered Lubinda to his seat. One wonders whether the removal of Lubinda from the seat he was ushered to was deliberately done by Nkhoma to embarrass Lubinda.

PF abandoned attending Kuomboka ceremony for obvious reasons, it even became a no go area for the country’s republican President. Now these people want to extend the same attitude to Ncwala ceremony surely? This is a shame. We had invited guests from other countries and them noticing such behavior is a big shame!

The problem was with the traditional ceremony organising committee. They have actually embarrassed the President as well. You wonder why they invited him in the first place only to humiliate him in this way. If he does not attend next time some idi0ts will again call him tribal names.
