Mazabuka Magistrate, Sebastian Mwenya has complained of alleged intimidation by chief Mwanachingwala after his wife, Lita Malambo, lost a civil case to Gideon Hamunjele in court.
Hamunjele was the plaintiff and the chief’s wife was a defendant in a case of trespass in which the plaintiff sought a court order to stop the traditional leader’s wife from visiting his village.
Hamunjele said in court that Malambo had brought about acrimony in his family as his wives were threatening to abandon him on suspicion that he was flirting with the chief’s wife.
Magistrate Mwenya complained to ZANIS in Mazabuka the chief, who had applied to be included as a second defendant in the case, phoned him few minutes after he delivered judgment and accused him of being corrupt and biased.
But Chief Mwanachingwala said he was forced to intimidate magistrate Mwenya after he (Mwenya) threatened to cite him (Chief Mwanachingwala) for contempt of court for complaining against the judgment.
Chief Mwanachingwala, who also threatened to sort out Magistrate Mwenya, said he would officially complain to Chief Justice Ernest Sakala over the alleged biased manner the case was handled.
He said he was ready to be arrested for fighting a justified cause.
Chief Mwanachingwala said he would not rest until justice prevails.
Magistrate Mwenya, ordered in his judgment that both the chief and his wife should refrain from trespassing at Hamunjele’s village or risk being cited for contempt of court if continued.

Do our traditional rulers have credible advisors ? What has come of them to start embarrassing themselves when they are supposed to be role models ? This is not good at all …Someone down there to move in and advise the chief properly before it is too late. That issue can be solved amiccably.
The chief in question is so corrupt. He has no leadership qualities at all. Besides, he is MMD bootlicker. This chief is worse than the plunderers by all measures.

Now that Levy is no more. Let this chief live under the law. He even had imunity at Mazabuka police staion(i don’t even know if chieves have imunity). Let all the pending issues in courts and police against him be dealt with. Levy never wanted this chief arrested because he didn’t want the MMD lose its minority support in the area. Chief Mwanachingwala(charls malambo). Has always been bulling the people because he knew he could pick his moble talk to Levy who always protected him.The ministry of home affairs should be aware of some pending cases on the heard of this fool. His last hope is for the next president to continue protecting him.

I Think people are getting the Chief wrongly and this is very unfair.
To start with, This so call Magistrete Mwenya has no respect for Chiefs, these are the owners of the Landa and Mwenya is just a worker. Therefore, there is no way he can refrain the owner of the Land from going to Hamungele’s village.
To tell you the facts, under customary law, the Chiefe has rights to Chess this foolish villager Hamungele from his Chiefdom and off course chese the Magistrete from his Chiefdom.
Please, please let us have respect for our Chiefs, they are the owners of the Land.
Law is Law and the chief shouldn’t it for granted just bcoz he is a chief. He needs be checked.
