aka mwaiche ka mumba ni mbama.
#9 our students will use magnifying glasses to tell us if we are seeing patched pot holes on the runway tarmac.
“Private planes for white farmers and other organisations parked at the Livingstone airport” I am not aware that i am “a white farmer” or “other organisation”
Good observation.
How does the reporter know the plane belongs to a white farmer? Next time we should see a caption like: Black Zambian owned plane. Zambians you need to stop amano ya bwana ntemwa. Am surprised people still have the mentality of a white person being superior.
Planes for whites farmers, that is so colonial. How about just planes for farmers.
My thoughts exactly, why do we have to identify them by race?
Awe shuwa ba Mumba pic#1 kwati balelila pa menso awe mwe kuti waseka
Ba Red Card, I’m sure muli banakashi ka … aya ama jealous ta yasangwa ku baume! Kasabula akaice aka!
pic 2 Dras Neves looked like she didn’t want to shake RB’s hand, she’s even looking elsewhere lol
LT has gone to the dogs. We don’t want cheap politics by MMD showing us houses started by HE Levy P. Mwanawasa (SC) MHSRIP. This year tamwaimone
Poor housing planning, Police officers need to do some basic gardening, in this case they are forcing house wifes to continue selling Chikanda and Tobomutwe to supplement to the household income . The houses are too close that people cn hear each other at night.
Mmmmmmmmm … lets just learn to appeciate good developments! This is a huge improvement on most of the police camps I’ve seen. I don’t know what opinion u have on multi story flats!
Appreciate. Limbi mukukile ku San Francisco then you’ll see what “close together” really means.
At this rate it will be “two planes belonging to black farmers, one to a coloured farmer, four to indian farmers, two to chinese farmers” etc…….!!
And do the councillors think that they look cool in that black coat (gown) thing that they were………..the never ending search for self importance……
Ati Ba dras Neves, she is not all that at all not like Ndandula SIAMANA our natural beauty. It is not next “white farmers,” it is  Zambian commercial farmers period.Â
#9 – Why not just privately owned planes, have you got such an inferiority complex!? #4 – How in hell can councillors think that they have the authority to fire a Town Clerk!? They don’t have that prerogative. That “abattoir” in the Chibolya “slams” (or they meant slums?) is sickening – is there a council in Lusaka?Â
@ Mwanawakwitu, it has been ages! How are you doing? Good to see you back on the blog. The police houses look great, we have to give credit where it is due, some positive and tangible results from the MMD government.
Greetings my friend indeed it has been long since I too last saw you blog.
You people have shortage of beautiful women in Zambia, how can one say Ndandula Siamana was beautiful, and ukuponyolela pali pic#1. Come and visit the island of Tokelau, you see cousins of Dras Neves.
#5-8, is that asbestos roofing sheets? We seriously need to think twice as a country about them, even if it meant loss of jobs at TAP asbestos company in Chilanga.
#14:
thats was my thought too. it appears we have no environmental health speciallist in zambia. production and use of asbestos have been banned in most countries, but our Zambia is doing the exact opposite. The major problem is we dont have any serious resaerch activities going on in zed, there is no political will for that. our president (and his usual 10 member team) would rather go for a holiday in Brazil than funding research , ine umutwe ulakalipa.
Hi Olympia Extension Chick! It really has been ages, we probably blog on different days, plus I am more periodic now. You must be even married now it’s been that long, yes I do give credit to the government when it’s due like today. Another reason I don’t blog that often is because of the partisan discussions that most topics become with LT newbies. whether UPND, PF or MMD, they hijack even topics on women’s rights.
someone tell me are those houses sold to police officers who are serving or just another police camp? This idea of giving govt workers houses perpetuates poverty.
@ Mwanawakwitu, I hear you on that one. I have resorted to periodic blogging as well but what I find challenging about blogging on LT is that it is difficult to have an issue-based disagreement with people, everyone appears to be wound up too tightly and seeing everything through the political and tribal lens. Watchdog appear to be doing a much better job of sticking to the issues, although, they can also go overboard at times. Anyway, good to see some comments from you and let’s continue to stay thirsty for sharing new ideas and knowledge.
Lusaka times please will you kindly publish my valuable comments
The houses on pictures 5, 6, 7 and 8, look very good. Can someone now do some thing about Skanze camp please those houses there have been standing in delapidated form since the kings of Egypt. May be Sata will do somethinglet’s wait and see.
You’ve just cracked me up…. ati since the kings of Egypt. hahahaha nice1 tho very valid point
Weee, picha #1 Mumba njoo nikubusu kidogo hata isipokuwa una lipstick nyingi.Mrembo kama wewe unatakiwa kufunga ndoa na mimi na nitakuweka hapa marekani katika maisha mazuri sana.
#19 have some self esteem.#13 aren’t you Zambian. What are you talking about “shortage of beautiful women”? You think Dras Neves is beautiful? Please.Ndalula was quite beautiful.
She had no beauty enhancements,so that says a lot about her beauty.(am a woman, btw). As for the planes.Don’t be hard on LT for distinguishing that they belonged to white farmers. It’s a good thing. Why? Because it is an indicator of how well white farmers are doing compared to black. We should ask if there’s any black farmer who owns a plane. Are all black farmers just subsistance farmers? Is there a Zambian commercial farmer who is rich enough to own a plane? If not how can we, or rather, the Zambian gvt help lift our farmers to this status?
I am the “Other organization” one of those Cessnas belongs to me. By the way am a black guy…
police housing units is encouraging bane. We have no problem with such programs
Mumba in Pic#1 is so innocently cute… go girl goooooooooo!!
Nice police houses manje bakapokola ifiko very soon those houses will start looking trash.
its about time police officers had decent housing. the houses will dignify them and now lets curb corruption in the ploice
Do you know that owning a plane is not all that , infact there are many black Zambian who own planes in Zambia . Including my old man , my uncle too .
And we are not rich people .
Did you know that there are more cars on the Zambian roads that are worth more than dome planes in Zambia .Â
If you want A plane  2 seater 4 seater 6 seater I can hook you up price range would be from $18,000 to $90,000 I can have it crated up in a container and shipped to Lusaka international airport cost off  shipping obviously extra .
Now how much does a second hand range rover sport cost ??
Ba LT. Stop having that inferiority complex. Not every muzungu is rich. You sound very racist. Ba kamushi chinjeni. Please better your vocabulary.
#23 am very glad that you own a cessna. #28 I don’t want to buy a plane.#29 I don’t know where you come up with idea that identifying the owners of planes is racist or kamushi (villager). This is purely an economic indicator. That’s my assumption,at least. Here is how I look at it.Here in the in America they bring out social and economic indicators all the time based on races. For example, they can bring out statistics on how much whites earn compared to blacks or other races. This is not at all racist. It’s very informative. It gives you an idea of where you are.You might think you are somewhere until you see where other people are then you realise you are nowhere.Of course there are more important reasons why these statistics are collected. My point is,it’s not racist.

And they didn’t say all white people are rich. They just said the planes belong to white farmers.
While I appreciate the government`s initiative of lessening accommodation problems for our hard working Police Officers, the use of ASBESTOS is very very dangerous and so many countries in the world including Zimbabwe has declared using ASBESTOS as illegal and highly hazardous. This may cost the government a lot of money through funerals of Police Officers after 18 years of being exposed to ASBESTO pollution.
White Farmer? That’s racism, LT get serious. You can write as Farmers. They are also Zambians. Madam Mayor do something about the potholes on the runway. Police Houses look good, hope they don’t vandalize them.
