Don’t panic over rains – Met Department

Share

Farmers have been advised not to panic over the rains that have hit North Western and Copperbelt provinces in the last two days.

North Western Province Meteorological Officer Kameya Manjomba explains that the rains have been caused by moist flow from Congo DR into Central parts of Zambia.

Mr. Manjomba, however, says the rains will not continue and the normal dry pattern will resume.

He says Solwezi, Mwinilunga, and Zambezi Districts in North-Western Province recorded at least two milliliters of rains last week.

And Copperbelt Meteorological Officer Nason Phiri says the rains which were experienced in the region for three days were caused by a dark heavy cloud emanating from North Western Region.

And the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit DMMU on the Copperbelt Province says there has been no damage to infrastructure and crops following the unusual rains recorded in the province.

DMMU Copperbelt Coordinator Hambayi Mweetwa says his office has not received any reports of crop damage.

Mr. Mweetwa says that a house in Chifubu area of Ndola collapsed because the owner was using the roof top as a storage bin.

  1. Ahh, How can people be panicking about rain close to June? Have the weather patterns changed in Zambia or is just it me forgetting when the rain season ends that side?

  2. CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL. BUT RB SURE DO YOU SUPPORT THESE GUYS. I GET EMBARRASSED EACH TIME THEY PRESENT WEATHER ON TV. THEY APPEAR TO BE LOST, HUNGRY AND UNSURE. I HOWEVER LOVE ALL THEIR WOMEN THEY LOOK MORE CONFIDENT THOUGH NOT SEEN NOW.

  3. LATEST!!!!! SATA’S IGNORANCE OR LIES EXPOSED: finance minister hon situmbeko musokotwane has exposed sata’s ignorance of national affairs. addressing pf rallies in western province over the weekend mr sata said that if his party comes to power it would construct the mongu-kalabo road and the sesheke-senanga road. mr musokotwane has questioned what kind of ignorance mr sata is exhibiting since these two roads are already under construction. what the minister does not seem to know is that sata wants to take credit for what rb is doing. i am sure the crowd must have gone away wondering why sata thought they are such id.iots. pf cadres, so you think that crowd will vote for mr sata after he insulted their intelligence like that?
