Zesco United left Lusaka on Wednesday satisfied with the sense that justice prevailed after drawing 1-1 away to Green Buffaloes in the two sides’ rescheduled Week 10 game at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
Both teams were level at 1-1 going into the final minutes of the game that was dominated by Zesco until referee Wellington Kaoma of Lusaka blew for a penalty in favor of Buffaloes deep into stoppage time.
This is after Zesco’s Zimbabwean-born midfielder Zimuseleni Moyo and Buffaloes striker Mabvuto Daka cluttered into each other inside the box.
Daka in dramatic style then tumble to the ground like a heavy bag of potatoes before Kaoma pointed to the spot.
Buffaloes midfielder Buchizya Mfune stepped up to take the resultant penalty that he blasted it against the horizontal and the ball was cleared back into play.
However, Kaoma shortly thereafter blew for fulltime to see the two teams finish level on points and unchanged on the table.
Zesco stay put in 7th place despite moving to 26 points, level with Buffaloes who are also unmoved in 8th position.
Meanwhile, Zesco took the lead in the 4th minute through Winstone Kalengo before Buffaloes midfielder Nathan Sinkala equalized 10 minutes later.
Zesco nothing for this season,Let others represent Zambia in continental club championshi(Red Arrows).Better lucky next season.
Can’t forget the humiliation Red Arrows suffered at the handz of one Nigerian side in a continental outing, and therefore would rather try Power Dynamos, Konkola Blades or even my Brave Rangers this time round.
Go ZESIKORO GO!
