Division 1 North side Mufulira Blackpool have suspended one player in connection with last weekend’s assault on a referee in their heated away derby against Mufulira Wanderers.
The player, defender Roger Lwandamina has been handed a 30-day ban by Blackpool for his part in the incident.
The punishment comes a week before Blackpool and Wanderers are due to appear before a Faz disciplinary committee in connection with incident.
Lwandamina is alleged to have assaulted referee Chris Mauma on August 14 at Shinde Stadium after the official handed Wanderers a second penalty before the match was abandoned at 1-1.
Zambia the real Africa.
Arent these the same officials who claimed that the ref fell on his own? FAZ pliz clamp down on this behaviour by punishing the blackpool clowns severely
Blackfools or is it blackpool, are just trying to be smart. The ref was not attacked by one player but almost the entire team including the coach and they are trying to save the other team members by sacrificing one player. How can you start beating up one man as a team on a field of play? Why not just abandon the game by matching out in protest. Supposing this man you were beating was your father, brother or son, how would you feel? Deal with them FAZ.

30 days for beating up a referee? Thats a joke. It should be a lifeban!
I watched this game and I saw thie goalkeeper trip the ref and then Lwandamina stamped on him and he immediately took off his jersey! If Lwandamina was innocent, why was whisked away from the stadium?I dont remeber the coach touching the ref though.FAZ must clamp down on this nonsense! And people ask why there are few spectators of the local league!Who would want to go to the stadium and get caught up in such nonsense in case of a RIOT!
