Sata’s Strategy for the 2011 elections

Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata

By M Kapumpe:-

How do you win the Presidential election, an election you have already lost three times previously? That is the question that Michael Sata has been contemplating in anticipation of the 2011 election.

Initially, his plan was to enter into a coalition with the third largest party in the country, the UNDP. However, when the leader of the UNDP, HH realised that there wasn’t going to be an open selection for the coalition’s Presidential candidate and that the whole purpose of the coalition was to advance Michael Sata’s Presidential aspirations, that strategy failed.

Sata then began to look for an alternative tactic to help him win in 2011. He was becoming more desperate as the months passed, because it was becoming clearer and clearer that the incumbent President and Sata’s main opposition, Rupiah Banda, was enjoying the economic benefit of high copper prices and that Rupiah Banda had not squandered this boost, but had reinvested the money back into new roads, schools and hospitals.

Sata also faced the difficulty of raising money for his campaign (oops, am I not supposed to mention money for fear of a lawsuit?), the pro-business environment created by President Banda had made businessmen reluctant to support Michael Sata’s campaign. It is even rumoured that one businessman has left the country until after the election in order to avoid meeting the aspiring candidate.

Considering the potential of a very difficult election campaign in 2011, Sata began to look around for a strategy. He ended up taking a leaf out of two recent campaigns on the continent, the 2007 Kenyan campaign and the 2008 Zimbabwe campaign. This is a strategy that Michael Sata partially employed in 2008, but now he has decided to put all his hopes in its use.

The strategy was to begin early on to challenge the validity of the election process. Every ambassador or foreign dignitary that he met, he continually stressed his fear that the MMD were going to falsify the results. As Mr Sata is well known for shouting things louder than anyone else, his continued drumming of this issue had begun to bear fruit. His intention all along was to focus this strategy on the international crowd.

A cursory sample of the feelings of most the embassies around Lusaka today, it is clear they have begun to give credence to Mr Sata’s claims. An example of this concern is that of the US embassy, that although they are unable to give substantive reasons as to why they think the election process is susceptible to fraud, they went so far to request that one of the US democratisation institutes, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) conduct a full fledge election observation in the country.

Mr Sata also has chosen to challenge every conceivable procedure, both in the judicial courts and the court of public opinion, no matter how trivial or unwinnable. His intention was not to win these cases through the courts, but again to cast doubt on the integrity of the electoral process in the Zambia. This was also the purpose of cast doubt on the South African printers UPG, whom coincidently Mr Sata had no problem with in his last three election losses.

By building up this perception that the process is flawed, Mr Sata will be able to institute the next phase of his plan. There is an anomaly in the demographics and way the Zambian people vote that will allow him to no doubt take an early lead in the vote tally the night of the election. Mr Sata’s vote tends to be based in the urban centres of the country and those are the areas that tend to report their results first.

The MMD vote on the contrary tends to be more rurally based. Once Mr Sata’s early lead will begin to disappear, he will begin to cry foul in the media. He will bring his thugs onto the street to cause mayhem and having convinced the internationals that the election process is fraudulent he will demand mediation.

Like the elections in Kenya and Zimbabwe, he will hope to achieve “an African Solution to an African problem”, which means that a former African leader like Kofi Annan, who’s famous line we have quoted, will be brought in to set aside the true election results and force a deal on the Zambian people and bring Mr Sata into power.

There is only one way to defeat a strategy like Mr Sata’s, which is for the people of Zambia to come out in large numbers to give several definitive messages. First the message is that they and they alone will choose the future of their country at the ballot box and not careerist politicians that are interested in looking after their own and their friend’s interest and not the interest of the Zambian people.

And secondly, is to choose a candidate that believes in the democratic process, that recognises that their responsibility is to serve the interest of the Zambian people and not just themselves and those around them. If the Zambian people do that, they will not find themselves saddled with a president not of their choosing.

In the above  clip Sata claimed that RB got 9000 votes from Vubwi, but official 2008 VUBWI Final Results show as follows: RB 3,925, HH 452, Sata 373 Miyanda 65

  1. Iwe Kapumpe. Dochi kutumpa. Sata is winning. MMd is breaking the rules ny using govt vehicles in their campaigns. What is Mambilima saying about this !

  2. Iwe Mbuzi tapali ukomuleya.Ilebunda canoe na this year.Olo find an ambulance for the Cobra pantu apa ni landslide not even rigging

  3. We still have a lot very dull people who can write in English and it ends there. This article is not fit even fit for a debate club in some private primary schools in the country.

  4. BUSHE DO PEOPLE KNOW THAT THIS TIME IT WILL NOT JUST BE IN THE RURAL AREAS BUT EVEN IN THE URBAN.SO PA CANOE THIS BE PREPARED BECAUSE WE HAVE PENETRATED EVEN THE URBAN.UMUNTU NI MMD. ATI CANOE MULEBUNDA BAMABALA THIS YEAR

  6. #1,2,4,5; can you pls intelligently respond to this well written article? Insults won’t help, the facts are there. Chilufya Sata has run out of options and hence the last minute kicks of a dying horse (when I say dying, I mean that literally!). People in rural and peri-urban Zambia have seen hospitals, roads and schools delivered in the past 3yrs under RB and you can’t argue with that. Our kateka is not vindictive, is educated, business friendly and the only opponent who even comes close in terms of calibre, is HH. This goon from Mpika called King Cobra, is not presidential material and lacks both the intellect and temperament to hold such an important office! RB pankoloko, nafuti nafuti.

  7. ba maureen kwati tamuli banakashi.Which padling. Umuntu ni development and the way forward is continuity with development. Not bakabolala aba.Mulebepushako ifyo bachita pantu they have done nothing ba mubwe

  8. The grammar is good but the analysis and content is shallow! It is baisd and lacks objectivity as the authour has already assumed the pf has lost! Lusaka times how do you publish hypothetical articles! Good start but messy finishing! Try drama or poetry mr authour as we havent voted yet!

  9. all politician have intention to get higher office even RB why canont say i have enough let other rule when last time promised not to stand. give example of politician who does not to be given power. From your article it is clearly showing your bitten aganist Sata you can not be trusted with your information

  10. After watching the Video clip and listening to the numbers quoted by Mr Sata, it just confirms what I have always said all along on this site that rigging in Zambia is exagerrated . Question is where did Mr Sata get his 9000 chivuma votes ? It is this wrong information that he fed his Kaponya and set them to go on a rampage in Lusaka. Is this the leader you can trust , who thrives on lies?

What do the so called intellegent people like Kalos2121 and #6 Shiwanya say after they watch the clip?

#6 Shiwanya, I think you are the dull one to believe your Sata with facts put before your eyes in black and white. If free education didn’t help , what more do you want us to do to educate you?

    • Dear Fredd. Is this all you can contribute to the debate to show why you support SATA? I am sure you can do better than this.

    • Fredd – debate intelligently, are you the type of people supporting Sata and expect us to follow with your insulting lingo?

    • Sata will emerge victoriously this year because the margin will be too large to be manipulated without detection. No wander mmd wants assurance that pf will accept results even b4 we vote. rb has messed up. he has no chance of winning this year elections. mind you its only 35000 that needs to surpass rb going by last elections  which can easily be contributed by masebo and mangani. what happens to more votes coming from new registered voters and the effort pf is making plus votes from citizens that are not satisfied with the way rb is running the nation. Mind you Sata will win not bcoz he is the best but bcoz people want change and the mistakes that rb has made.

    • fred debate maturely. what is the problem with pf followers? from the top leadership to the last person, their reason is very childish

  11. #1,2,4,5 Are drunk with Satan. MMD has penetrated the Urban areas and Satan will loose terribly this time around. If he lost during the time when Zambia was one of the poorest countries in the world what about now when Zambia has entered the middle income country through MMD and RB’s good policies. Satan will never see state house period. It is only those who are looking for jobs but have no papers who are saying they will vote for sata. Even then, the marketeers have rejected him. Go to most markets in Lusaka you will see what I mean. This is why the few supporters for him are now threatening violence in case we do not vote for Sata. We will not be threatened, we will VOTE in RB again. abash SATAN

  12. too much of one thing is dangerous lets try sata no one has a monopoly of ideas and besides, God never appointed mmd alone to rule zambia for ever not at all. Lets see how the much talked about madness and dullness of sata will work for mother zambia. lets be considerate when discussing personalities.

    • #22.You do not need to be burnt in order for you to learn that fire burns. You learn from other peoples experiences with fire.Coming to the point what is the political history of this man, his past records that would make you take such a risk?

    • Dude, the country’s not a guniea pig…U dont carry out such dangersou expereiments coz sata is a dangerous guy. everyone knows that

    • MASAUSO YOUR REASONING IS WARPED WHY SHOULD WE JUST CHANGE GOVERNMENT FOR NO PROPER REASON! WE KNOW SATA AND WE DON’T WANT HIM. REMEMBER IF IT IS NOT BROKEN DON!T FIX IT! RB IS THE MAN!!

  13. Sata always looks where he falls rather than looking where he slipped. He takes aim at all his targets instead of focusing on only the promising ones.Thats why he has yet to come up with a solid strategy to win but, alas its Banda’s parentage one time, its rigging, its foreign funds.. ad infinitum.Never mistake knowledge for wisdom Mr Sata-one helps you make a living, the other helps you make a life.

    • Pala dende lamala is what has happened to PF they have run out of dende and the have to soza the sima ( They have to make do with sata since they have no option) I like the name!

    • Enormal fye tata……. I was in Zed the last week nd honestly speaking tulaibepa pa Blog seriously. The race is indeed Btwn PF nd MMD blv me HH tapali zoona its only in the south. I also took time to watch the program on MUVI TV called “Meet the Candidate” UPND has a leadership crises they cant aticulate issues and they claim to b the Interlectuals, 1 wonders. MMD on the other hand is talking about projects that dont make sense, the roads are just bringing dust muma yanda yabantu. Lets jst wait for the day. Wina azalila

  14. This year he is wining because Northern,Luapula,Copperbelt,Kapiri,Kabwe,Lusaka,Livingstone,Mongu,Kafue,Chongwe, parts of Chipata and some votes from other districts he is assured. As long as there is no rigging he will win.

    • why do u tuma PF people insist on including Livingstone wen tabulating the towns were they think Sata is popular? Let me tell u right now, I live in Lstone, i follow politics closely and i can categorically confirm that PF is a joke here and are only tolerated because they are amusing. the competiton in lstone is between MMD and UPND, as always!

  15. The only fool bigger than the person who writes like he knows it all …..is the person who argues with them. Some articles don’t need responses.

  16. LT THAT KAPUMPE IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF INFORMATION????????? WHAT OF OTHER PEOPLE???THIS CHAP IS JUST LIKE CHANDA CHIMBWI. THIS TIME AROUND NOTHING WILL HELP MMD WIN. RBISH HAS MESSED UP AND NO AMOUNT OF PULL HIM DOWN WILL MAKE PEOPLE CHANGE THEIR DECISION TO VOTE FOR SATA..VIVA PF/SATA LETS GO MWAMUKOLO FELAS

  17. I js fail to understand people who are ready to die for pf,if it’s change they want better upnd not former mmd liabilities in the name fdd,hp,pf etc!it’s there for all to see that these chaps want to bring confusion in this peace loving country, they have tried 3times manje izankala 4!no wonder they are killing innocent chickens, the other day the same chap was in muf telling the women that pf will find men for them to marry!surely ema issue based campaigns Aya coming from a so called priest!and people are busy chanting pa fyoto!the titanic party will never rule Zambia period Nangu chimubabe shani Nangu mutukane shani!thankyou!

  18. Paragraph 10 says it all. Keep them poor to rule them longer. But time will come even for Bob Mugabe. Who thought a powerful man like Muammar can go and get himself holed up somerwhere?
Not ukutaila guys. We want to see you alive when you lose.

  19. Sata only respects Post newspaper reporters,I couldnt believe he was answering BBC reporters like that. What impression does it give to the outside world. If he won I wouldnt be suprised to hear that he has closed the Post newspaper. Good luck snake- cobra as you prepare for retirement.

  20. The battle is lost for Sata. Other than rebuking the electoral system, Sata’s hope is based on descrediting the Gov’t through lies and a dirty smear campaign championed by the Post. His hope is that Western Province is lost for MMD because of how the police dealt with youths, apparently insighted by some people to cause trouble. He hopes Eastern province is taken because of Mangani and he hopes Chongwe ia taken because of Masebo, and what he does not realise is that the people of Zambia are awake to the development taking place, they have never witnessed anything like this before. The USA is concerned with China’s influence in Zambia and will listen to any lies Sata will peddle to his advantage…but too late, the battle for the opposition is lost

  21. Sata no way. But if these sado-masochists want to vote for him because they get a kick out of the economic and political pain that he will be able to provide in abundance when he is president, then that is their choice. It won’t affect me. If a kid cries for fire, give it to him.

    • Real pipo i thot all these development projects u talkin about ar a continuation of Kaunda only that the mmd has added a litle bit of spice. Luk at Govermnet Complex Building, who initiated it. sit dwn and think b4 u write. There ar many more of these. We need new ideas frm a different party akwase. Mutwavye. Twalita na ba mmd. tukwanza u change bwelele. Mwivwa bati

  22. Good an article if he were a man who has hopes of winning he could have had found sympathizers like the previous campaigns. Everyone who had given financial assistance the previous election have withdrawn their support as the funds were not spent objectively with rumors that Sata does not give the money intended for the party.

  23. # 22 you are saying of giving SATA a chance am afraid what if we make a mistake five year is too long be with him better vote for the person we know better and that is RB.and its pray for God’s way for its the best not all on this blogg or in zambia are christian but let us who are stand in the gap for our country.

  24. Who can vote for that rotten teeth old man, with no education..!!! Fr. Bwalya has shown his true colour now that he is after war in Zambia by splashing blood at PF rally. He should be told that PF will be alone and defeated alone because all normal zambians will attack then..!! stop being child kaponyas. Your leader is not a presidential material, prepare for his 4th time loss after 20 sept and end of SATA’s political career.!! vote for HH or RB..Let Bembas alone vote for SATA…We have seen what after ba swine..!! This time you will be taught a lesson that you will not forget…I can see that MMD will have few MPs this time because their MPs will be defeated by UPND which is appear to be around 62 for UPND and 53 for MMD after  looking at projected results..!!!

    • Kizito uli chipuba a grade 7 failure. we know u no wonder yo contribution to LT is nonsense. Wikapasha abana bobe ubukopo pantu ubukopo ni inheritance. VIVA PF ASHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  25. the battle for the opposition should never be lost, because with out it mmd will never panick, this time last minute developments are welcome and to our advantage we need a strong opposition like pf.i am very glad mmd you are dancing to the peoples tune.sata is a star !!

  26. UMUNTU NI DEVELOPMENT AND FOR THAT WE ARE GOING FOR THE MAN WITH MATURITY AND PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF DEVELOPMENT WHICH CAN BE SEEN AND TOUCHED.THE MAN WHO HAS SHOWN US WHAT IT MEANS TO WORK IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.THE MAN WHO UNDERSTANDS ZAMBIANS THE MAN WHO HAS SHOWN US WHAT TRANSPARENCE MEANS. WE HAVE SEEN ROADS FOR CONFIRMATION AS PEOPLE IN KABWATA,HOUSES ASK POLICEMEN IN NDOLA,CHIPATA ETC AND CLINICS JUST GO ALONG GREAT EAST ROAD AND THE ANSWER YOU WILL BE GIVEN. FOR HOW MANY YEARS OR THIS IN THREE YEARS.WE HAVE SEEN INVESTORS COMING ON BOARD.THE MAN FOR THE MOMENT IS RUPIAR MWEBANTU.WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR. AWE KWENA BA RUPIAR YOU ARE THE MAN FOR THE JOB AND DEVELOPMENT IS WHAT MOVES US. LET KAPANYA’S KEEP ON SAYING DONT KUBEBA BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOTHING TO TELL THE PEOPLE

  27. Personally, I think Sata has been given more weight than he really has. He may have been heading the biggest opposition party. However, his party was really still small by far compared to MMD. There is no way he can win these elections. Already he is not even fielding candidates in some consituencies – whereas RB and MMD are everywhere. For Sata to win these elections there will have to be direct God intervention! Votes alone wont make it. If anything his best ever chance was in 2008. His party may be the biggest opposition party if you go by numbers of MPs – however, it is like saying all the opposition parties are ants and the MMD is an elephant and then what we are saying is that PF is the largest among the ants, but that doesn’t make it an elephant like the MMD!!!

    • Given the amount of profanity that characterize SATA supporters whenever they blog, and the misplaced killing rituals by Fr. Bwalya, God will NOT intervene in PF’s favour. And the clip does help put things in perspective, i.e. that we are living magnets, and we attract people around us who harmonise with our dominant thoughts. This explains the amount of profanity on this blog.

    • The video reveals that Sata loves his country Zambia. He tells off the BBC guy that Zambia is not Zimbabwe. He is the man my country Zambia needs.Thank you.

  28. in 1991 we were very relaxed after putting the new government there was no opposition apart from unip which was even weak. And mmd was happy and plundered heavily with no checks and balances, this time mwanya if pf wins upnd should rise and put it to task until they start performing viva opposition.d mmd was happy and plundered heavily with no checks and balances, this time mwanya if pf wins upnd should rise and put it to task until they start performing viva opposition.

  29. so ba Kapumpa nabo balemona kwati ni ba political analyst. mwaice, still young in your head.Analyst never take sides but give a clear picture of people involved.

  30. TRUE TRUE TRUE MR K,INDEED SATA HAS NO VISION ANYMORE I HAVE THUS GIVEN UP THIS DONCHI BUSINESS AND THUS MOVED ON TO THE RULING PARTY

  31. HH is the leader of UPND not UNDP you *****, and secondly you are sick Mr Sata will be your next boss Hung yourself…….Me its nt dont kubeba kukweba waishiba.

  32. This footage speaks volumes about the emptiness in sata. There is no Presidential substance in him whatsoever. God save us from the impending treacherous waters in the boat!

  33. I have stated several times, on this very blog, the many reasons why Sata should never be allowed to lead our nation. Credible reasons. Simply put, the man is sure disaster and most of those who support him are either family, friends or tribesmen who are dying to have one of their own to always be at the helm of politics at any costs. And that is not even to say all his tribesmen think like that. Most of them are above tribe – at least in public. THE ASPERSIONS CASTED againist Sata in the above article however are not credible. There is every reason to worry that the next election will not be free and fair and if govt does not listen one can approach international partners. There is no evidence that Sata will create violence to push for a govt of national unity. Courts provide redress

  34. imwe baice tamwakwata amano mulemona these fake results will take you any where. How much have they given you to become chanda chimbwi 4.you just eat the money and dont KUBEBA.

  35. Supporters just wait for the results , all of you are worth one vote only per position; president =1, MP=1 and Ward=1. No matter how many times you write on this blog.

  36. I have long stopped wasting my life reading unprofessional and subjective articles. But then in Zambia objective report is alien. It strikes me as a lunatic kind of logic that if you have lost elections three times then you will definitely loose the fourth, and you therefore shouldn’t even contest. And all along I thought getting up after losing and forging ahead is the mark of all achievers. Sata is an achiever and credit should be given where it’s due.

    • There is a perverse sense of intelligence in a Zambian. A rumour, a personal opinion and general sweeping statements are treated as facts and widely debated without even an ounce of thought. This article is just one such example, and the ‘intelligent Zambian internet tigers’ spend hours arguing about it! How can someone who uses a rumour, personal opinions and preferences to support what is supposed to be an analytical article be taken seriously?? In my opinion, there is either something wrong with many Zambians with internet access or we are not as intelligent as we claim to be!

  37. THE SATA GROUP IS MORE OF VILLAGERS WHO FAIL TO DO FARMING AND YET NEED TO HEARVEST. PF ARE IN A HARRY TO ENTER GOVERNMENT BUT ALL HAVE NO CAPACITY TO RAN ZAMBIAN GOVERNMENT.IT IS CLEAR THAT WE HAVE SEEN RB AND HIS TEAM WORKING SO IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL PF MEMEBERS TO VOTE FOR RB. PF YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOUR WEAKNESS BEFORE 2016 VIVA RB.RB FOR PRESIDENCY.SATA GIVE CHANCE TO GIVEN HE HAS MORE AUTHORITY THAN YOU THAT IS WHEN PF WILL FORM A GOVERNMENT. GIVEN LUBINDA WE WANT YOU FOR PRESIDENCY IN 2016. SATA TIME FOR YOU TO RETIRE HAS COME ITS NOT YOUR PARTY YOU LOSE YOU BECOME A PF MEMBER NO MORE STANDING AS PRESIDENT.

  38. Sata will never rule Zambia. maybe Tanzania where his parents hailed from. Any seriously minded Zambian can not allow sata to rule over zambia. That dull man to govern Zambia !

  39. iwe # 68 and kampumpu stoping fulling Zambians if u support yo RB just shatup,me and my friends we using don’t kubeba, that is y we get chitenje with RB’s face and tell our women to wear it in a way that the face of RB is on there matako and sit on it

  40. The article is well balanced and supported by the video clip which I believe is not the author’s item. The worry is the failure by debaters or participant readers to exhibit levels of analytical intelligence over the article. Author has presented a situation that could occur based on similar scenarios that have occurred elsewhere. What should be our reaction when we find ourselves in it? Response based on emotional feelings and wild uttrances does little to persuade the outcome of results after vote. Mob crusades to woo general public and vote blindly is neither helpful to Zambia. Parties without credible shadow manifestos or structures are not ready for govt. Let them put their act together before they can lead Zambia.

  42. Good analysis by Kapumpe. People dont like to see or hear the truth. Dont bury you head in the sand. wake up and smell the coffee and not Chibuku. MMD is winning and we will have more bridges to cross all the rivers. We dont want someone who will give us Ubwato to cross the rivers. RB and MMD Nafuti Nafuti

  43. I have not burari lost, what a person aspiring for highest office in a country, this man is a Gonga period. I wonder if there are 5 sensed zambians tht can vote for this man. This man is brutal and should never be allowed to lick the fatness of state house anywhere in this world.

  44. This clip says it all. What is ITT by the way, I stand to be educated. Sata should just reflect back and stop using the vulgar language.

    • #76 What is ITT? Good question. I am sure he meant to say IT (information Technology) but mixed it up with old ITT Radios which used to be assembled in ITT Livingstone in UNIP days under Kaunda, or something like that. So it’s either one of his usual memory lapses – dementia – or worse still, the man strongly believes a modern desk-top PC is the same as an ITT of the UNIP days. LOL

  46. you are very dull, how can u say mmd has penentrated the rural areas when it is the ruling party, this shows that they are loosing popularity shame on you, kabwalala iwe, kamushi, go to hell with you muslam president

  47. Look at the way roads in Matero are being done by the contractor can you compare them with whats being done in Kabwata?there is a very big difference.Right now Mpezeni Road is closed for three weeks bcoz the contractor is delaying to put calverts. No tarmac yet and dusts is blowing inside houses when vehicles are passing this is forcing residents to heap stones on the road.Your excellency Sir Mr.RB.you started these projects in all residential areas but some contractors like the one in matero are going to let you down and foustina sinyangwe should have been replaced.because she seem not to be concerned.

  48. Things are happening in Zambia Like never before.!! Wina azalila alimwi. VIVA RB our interest is development. You cant force pipo to see what they dont want to see. Let the empty bauckets do what they know best!! Gwe-gwelele!!!

  49. Sata held a meeting and confided to some senior members that he knows he is getting an uppercut from sting-like-a-bee pugilist RB. He will start asking his MPs for a cut of their gratuities since he will never get to state house. What a life, Maybe next time, he must stand as MP. I am 100% sure that he will win

  50. ATI ZIMA NDOLA WALIKALAKO NO KWIKALOKO .UMUNTU NI EXPERIENCE, MATURE, DEVELOPMENT AND FOCUSED NOT UMUNTU TAIKALAPO NAPA WARD ATI FRESH BLOOD. DOES HE KNOW WHAT GOES ON IN COMMUNITIES. FRESH BLOOD APA ITS ONLY DEVELOPMENT AND THATS THE WAY FORWARD. NOT JUST TALK BUT FRUITS BABA

  51. Kapumpe we ar nt interested in how much money/ property Sata has, all we want is change. u wil be supprised soon. we ar changin the Govt. and will see were u wil write yo silly comments on Sata. Mind you pipo are readin all over the world. We ar fade. Its only the minority of u who ar mmd cadrs stil supportin MMd for fear of loss of employment. Ulimukopo iwe chikapumpe.

  52. I like the reporter, he was not intimidated by this mpika thug. I hope this reporter should be the one again to interview him after 20/9 defeat again. Sata Vubwi Kalala

  53. RB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!RB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DEVELOPMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SCHOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CLINICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ROADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!INVESTOR CONFIDENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MATURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!EXPERIENCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PROVEN TRACK RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PRESIDENT FOR ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MWEBANTU

  54. This ex-cop has no respect for any human being under the sun. Why make him in charge of humans? God has a way of giving timely warningsto his children, but fools will ignore God’s plea at their own peril. PF members start looking for a new leader after 20th. But not Kabimba!

  55. I had very high hopes about the article, sadly, you read the third paragraph, and there it is clearly an anti-PF writer.

This is of no use to the public. The writer is an “RBist”. Not worthy the read for an analytical mind seeking something good to digest.

  56. that video is a clssic, how sata did not unleash his attack dogs to manhandle that BBC journalist beats me. eish eish eish .

  57. The article sounds like a copy-and-paste from Chanda Chimbwi’s concoctions. It’s questionable that MMD has won any presidential elections since 2001, if not 1996. HH is a known auctioneer and he has behaved no differently as the in-charge of the once credible UPND. Mwaanga was sent with billions to ask HH to quit the pact hence the collapse of the PACT. VJ fell out of RBs favour when it was reported VJ had pocketed a huge amount using his diplomacy to cut down the offer to HH. All the funding MMD is getting is thru CORRUPTION (quid pro quo) or INTIMIDATION of businesses. Hence, it’s foolish for Kapumpe to applaud RB’s link with businesses. But RB pays him to churn out this garbage so I guess we haven’t heard the last from him!

  58. BOTH MMD AND PF HAVE HAD GOOD SUPPORT IN THE PAST ELECTIONS. MY OPINION IS THAT BOTH PARTIES HAVE REACHED THE APEX AND THE ONLY PARTY THAT CAN WIN IN THIS ELECTION IS THAT PARTY WITH THE ABILITY TO SUSTAIN ITS SUPPORT. BASED ON PREVIOUS ELECTION RESULTS AND THE FACT THAT OPINIONS REGARDING POLITICS IN ZAMBIA DO NOT CHANGE MUCH AS THEY ARE GUIDED BY REGIONALISM AND TRIBE. I SEE THE MMD WINING THE ELECTIONS AGAIN.

TO THE PF AND ITS SUPPORTERS, TIME HAS COME FOR THEM TO THINK BEYOND MR. SATA AND BECOME MORE RESPECTFUL TO PARTNERSHIPS.
WHATEVER THE CASE GOOD LUCK TO THE PF

  59. Come on Kapumpe, u keep tring your luck, just like how does a lawyer keep representing people in cases & every time, his clients loose ,..,..///..//??:d

  60. @ The Real People- Why do you want to talk more than anyone else, Why make over 30 comments on one story? Re u paid for this? Do you work? How are u managing to be commenting very 10minutes? Find something to do. Work is holy.

  61. I REALY FEEL SORRY FOR PEOPLE LIKE GBM,MASEBO ,MANGANI,MULONGOTI AND PATRICK BECAUSE THEY HAVE PUT THERE FAITH ,FUTURE AND HOPES IN SOMEONE WHO HAS NO END AND GRIP.THIS YEAR CAN YOU EVN COME OUT LIKE THE WAY MANGANI DID AND LEAVE A MINISTERIAL POSITION FOR A DROWNING CANOE.POOR JUDGEMENT BAKAMBA

  62. Long live sata. You the man, its gud that you have encircled mmd in the way you have attacked, we see court cases, mass rally, dont kubeba, peoples pact, post newspaper. mmd has nowhere to run, you should also bring in some querila attacks just to slow their pace. Long live pf.

  63. @ chinsali1- I greet you. Its not RB we dont want but goverment policies. My friend ” The real people” You need to convince us on the following:

    1. Why do we still have serious shortage of teachers and medical staff wen the country has enough school leavers who are ready do teaching and nursing, para medics courses?

    2. Why dont we have piped, clean water in our homes, when the country has enough money to deal with this problem within 90days?

    3. Why is PAYE still very high when our country has industries making too much money who can contribute through taxes but are all exempted?

    For now just these

    • Sangokwete are you sure about what you are talking about or asking me. Lets talk about clean water. You see my president respects structures and what you are asking the PF can answer that because that is the responsibility of councils.when you say PAYE is high wat do you mean because the plan is to reduce the gap between the rich

    • Bamudala Ba Sangokwete, i think you reasoning and analysis is too deep for The real People to digest so its better to leave it as is… Coz if a person who claims to be seeing things that he claims are developmental he should be able to answer the simple question as to why PAYE is very high but instead he goes on bubbling as usual.

  64. I had a discussion with this guy who always needs help to think. he is pro PF after realising that HH is not going anywhere. I told him that I was in Lusaka during the 2006 elections. I saw a nasty situation when Mwanawasa had to be diverted from that road bypassng the market because of the unrully PF cadre [ note:cadre has no plural ] who made the Soweto Market a no go area for MMD. That was in 2006. The difference country men and women….is that RB can walk freely at Soweto and even Chisokone market in Kitwse. All this means acceptance for RB. But thoughtless people won’t smell nothing……Dullnessssssssssssss. Nafuti.

  65. too much of this one and not that one, this year i wont tell you whom i’m voting for bt come 2016 no doubt Elias Chipimo Jr will be among the two most talked about candidates. after 20th, i will start my peaceful campaign for Chipimo Jr.

  66. 2011 its for HHH
HHHHHHH HHHHHH HHHHH HHH HHHHH HHHHHHHH HHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHH and sorry for out going Leader KING COBRA!

  67. @65 WANTANSHI: “….And all along I thought getting up after losing and forging ahead is the mark of all achievers. Sata is an achiever and credit should be given where it’s due.”…. His greatest achievement so far being his ability to explain why he lost. Now he is building the momentum to provide an explanation for the mother of all losses! In politics, timing is crucial. Chiluba seized his moment against KK in 1991. Sata’s moment is long past and way behind him. Projections by independent and different stakeholders are consistently pointing out that this year is RB’s time. It will call for more than a miracle for any opposition leader to dislodge RB from state house this year.

    • Spot on, Ikandulwa. If Mr. Sata had any wisdom he would know this. Unfortunately the poor man is totally delusional. And that alone is so scary.

  68. Those supporting the corrupt party should be from the bus stations or bana maliketi coz thats where they have remained. And a well meaning Zambian like me to support such a not caring party, honestly guys let’s be serous.Only those not in formal employment are not feeling the impact.Ba *****,mukakula lisa nkashi?

  69. Do some fools who comment on this blog work or they are leaving on handouts from MMD and UPND like Kizito, Dr Obatala, MMD boot something, Senior whatever etc

  70. Sata will never rule Zambia. This year Zambian are going to show Sata that they don’t like him and they would not let a careless man who talks too much to rule Zambia.

  71. So this is what this thug will be saying to reporters when he his elected and interviewed say at the UN. God help Zambia

  72. Only a primitive fool can support MMD, we are better off changing government and regreting later than being under this sick pathetic and selfish MMD government..Every Jim & Jack has a potbelly now thanks to the TAX i pay….Bastards

  73. LT, this is just an opinion from some cadre, there is nothing to comment here. Give us proper topics to discuss ba LT. Take a none-partisan stance and acommodate every zambian, be above partisan politics.

  74. Sata: the man who can speak speak english in Taiwaneese. The man who seroius problems taking minutes during meeting. That is the man who should lead zambia? Zambians !

  75. I am surprised Satan has not sued Youtube for allowing this video clip to be aired, but I guess he is not very computer literate given the fact that he can just about read and write.

  76. It is very clear on the ground, it is too late for pf to upset the tables. For now, RB continues until 2016. This time around, unlike previous elections, you can hardly find a pf poster anywhere in lusaka. A sign that they are ill prepared, no one knows who their candidates are.

If this is happening in town, imagine what is going on in the rural areas.

  77. LUSAKA TIMES SHUT DOWN!!!!!
untill you grow up and be responsible i will never come to your site. you need to be objective even in your reporting. instead of focusing on development you are doing the oposite. BYE BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nowander you have very few adverts.

  78. It appears that the cash they expected for these elections has not poured in. Pf ground men hardly have any bicycles for the errands! I personally will not welcome anyone without a gift to entice me.

  79. “Police confiscate machetes from 2 PF cadres”

Immediately let these PF machetes swing and sever off heads of their sponsors Wynter Kabimba, Guy Scott, Frank Bwalya, M’membe and Sata himself then they will appreciate why Zambians curse machete touting demons.

  80. monku,

Get it from me, I am presently on the ground, seeing with my own eyes, hearing with my own ears, what is happening. I will not be surprised if this time around pf lost Lusaka. That is how badly things have gone for pf.

  81. monku,

As much as you disbelief my message, please, dont hate me, I am just a messenger of what is apparently bad news for you. Hahahaha

If I come from hades, then which hades does that foul mouthed idol of yours hail from? Hahahaha

Bye bye monku, we wont miss you. Hahahahaha

  82. monku,

As much as you disbelieve my message, please, dont hate me, I am just a messenger of what is apparently bad news for you. Hahahaha

If I come from hades, then which hades does that foul mouthed idol of yours hail from? Hahahaha

Bye bye monku, we wont miss you. Hahahahaha

  83. Perfect article. Unfortunately for Mr Sata he became so over confident with his strategy that when Chanda Chimba III appeared on the scene, he Sata did not realise that Stand Up for Zambia would catch Zambia like wild fire. Initially Sata actually dismissed CC3 and said that CC3 was campaigning for him. Many Zambians warmed up to SUFZ and by the time Mr Sata realised the impact of SUFZ, the damage had already been done. By taking CC3 to court, any lingering doubts that Zambians had about Mr Sata were confirmed.

  84. @127 “…….unlike previous elections, you can hardly find a pf poster anywhere in lusaka…” Probably a cash and morale issue! The party appears to be heading for an early retirement. Though acknowledged the kind of the jungle for its strength, a lion must seize its moment or it starves to death. King Cobra though he might be, Sata failed to seize his moment and the reality must now set in and this could be excruciatingly painful.

  85. We are from where? Zambia.Backward.Where not even a ballotpaper can be printed.KK is gone and in Unip’s we printed our ballot papers.
Zambia is hearding for disaster.Absolute poverty

  86. Only a primitive fool can support MMD, we are better off changing government and regreting later than being under this sick pathetic and selfish MMD government..Every Jim & Jack has a potbelly now thanks to the TAX i pay….Bastards

  87. Very interesting article and my sentiments exactly! Mmembe must have sleepless nights when he sees that he has failed to indoctrinate most of us..

  88. M Kapuba – i have never heard of a party called UNDP… you must have been drunk.. Utujilijili please you must stop, and my advise, Vote PF, Vote for change. I don’t understand how we all just fall asleep at last minute then barely two months after voting, the same people will be blaming themselves futi when ‘he resumes the world tour’, this time it will be for five years remember… we all complained about a tourist president right from swearing in! only when he needs the vote he starts visiting us with gifts and we start praises and singing unprecedented development songs.. we need redemption!

  89. Sadly buffoon RB may win the election but remember that all that money the investors have been giving him via developmental projects (the IOUs).  They are going to want it back via relaxed tax policies…that’s another 5 years missing out on $billions in revenue collection at our expense!!

  90. I am afraid there is too much biasness in these articles. In science, most of these authors / analysts/bloggers will get a W- (Worthless)

  91. Bootlicker says” After watching ……..his 9000 chivuma votes ?

However the article says “In the above clip Sata claimed that RB got 9000 votes from Vubwi, but official 2008 VUBWI Final Results show as follows: RB 3,925, HH 452, Sata 373 Miyanda 65. ***Licker where did you get CHIVUMA. Ulicikopo. Go back to school and do comprehension and summary.

  92. RB mwaume……this race is already won, if you can’t see it, you are in denial, or your head is deep down in the sand.

  93. Please copy & paste the link below in your browser and vote for the 20th September 2011 presidential elections. Results are shown immediately, there is no need for email address, password and nobody can influence or change the survey.
    Thanks you.

  94. its not just a matter of change but meaningful change and that change MMD can bring about. its not about just changing a politcal party!!!!!!!

  95. Sata is likely to win.As civilised citizens it is important that we give factual and reliable information to the public. Sata this time has done his homework. RB, Dora, Kunda and some senior MMD officials have annoyed alot of Zambians.

  96. This kapumpe guys chipuba sana, in life if u dont fight for the right things u end up suffering. What of pipo who fail there exams & keep on writting then finally makes, does that mean since u have failed b4 then u cant pass? we pipo shud learn from our failures that way u can pregress in life. ishunfwa patunono napafingi takonfwe, this is enough.
    Viva PF

  97. #153 MPUYA DANNY – Your assumption that Sata has never annoyed a lot of Zambians who still remember his insults is giving you false confidence.

  98. And by the way, can any PF cadre explain to me the meaning of a church pastor FATHER BWALYA strangling and killing a chicken on a campain stage in broad daylight? Is he a Satanist? Is that the reason he wears red all the time? Is that PF policy, to abuse animals with impunity like that – such a barbaric ritual? Mulowa ba PF? By the way, it has never happened in the history of Zambian politics. Whether you like it or not it has scared off a good number of people who could have voted for you before Father Bwalya’s Satanist prayer!!

  99. @ MMC Chilebabes i have just voted on the site you gave above. Mr. Sata is leading – Is this a true reflection of the situation on the ground or is it indicative of the Zambian “cyber” population?

  100. The article is ill written, the author lacks substantial amount of information to balance his opinions he has expressed in this article.

  101. #146 JAY JAY – That is at least a better scenario than if Sata won where you would have Taiwanese and Afghanistan Talibans coming to flood Zambia. I’m surprised there are people in chibolya who support PF. They don’t know that Sata has already auctioned their impoverished plots to Afghanistan investors who want to come to Zambia to launder their heroin money. Only RB can prevent that nonsense happening. People are talking about corruption as if PF are straight. All the councils run by PF in Zambia got publicly involved in corruption scandals. I think Lusaka City Council infact may still be under suspension. Now this is a party that is NOT even in power. What more if it were to be in power? To be honest Zambia would break up into smaller regional countries!!!

  102. Don’t blame the article. The problem with you people is you can’t even differentiate between different types of articles. This is an editorial presenting his own opinion, the same way you also have an opinion of what is going on. In an editorial there is no burden of having to present mountains of evidence. It’s either you agree with him or you don’t . But just because you don’t agree with him doesn’t make what he has written wrong. There are other people who agree with him. Be sensible.

  103. WIN OR LOSE, SATA,HH and RB will not be affected personally.
Just like i wont be affected personally because i dont depend on GRZ for my upkeep. Its good to be an international work with marketable skills.
I just pity the ZAMBIANS who are going to vote on tribal lines, false hopes, fake unprecedented development promises etc….ITS REALLY A PITY…….SO LONG

  104. Ba #153 you have maturely summed up the whole contention on today’s blog….I salute you….well said and done…Viva PF…Viva Sata

  105. iwe chilababes when you fail too much its time to try farming.limbi you are in the wrong league.Your president has no substance and do you even know what he will do in the famous 90days.The 90days which was said when he won majority sits in parliament.Problem ubufi bwafulisha muli bamudala olo nabakula ukulabepa chilababes.Nawishiba why he says dont kubeba because dual people like will just join in the slogan without thinking to say how can you vote for a person without knowing what he will do

  106. Such shit articles bring war…remember the 20 years of oppression…Unless you were not around in the 80s you would waste your vote on MMD. Think about the good roads we had, the clean streets, decent residential areas…etc. But the 20 years of MMD in power has seen Zambia move from bad to worse-needless to say that it is now a shanty country…We Zambians have no forsight…think about your children before you think about who to vote for. Why is it people only think about their tummies? The answer is simple, POVERTY. Only those who are benefiting from MMD leadership through corruptmeans or otherwise would vote for them. May the lord deliver you!

  107. Problem pa Zambia pachili sana utulo! Monenifye abale vivula-vivula bengi bad, but balolafye ukwalolaomwela no ishiba nefilechitika… ni mpofu. Twalibelela sana ubuchushi, we can’t even tell when things are good or bad. If people make a mistake in this election, within just a year even blogsites could close due to bad economic condition. Apapene natulaba okotwafuma. Bumbuli!

  108. Well, this gentleman kapumpe is chanda chimba111.Don’t even waste time. The young doesn’t think properly. To tell the nation if RB wins Zambia will be a failed state after 20th september.even us OP offices we are very dissapointed by president. He doenst think about the future.Zamtel was sold to himself in the name of Rap green. Now he has lost everything bcoz Zamtel will be handed over to libya for free.Zambians don’t be stupid in yo thinking.Sata is the only man to liberate u.If u vote for RB gud luck.I’m an OP officer and have a lof of information of RB.He can kill the country.ECZ is also trying to make sure RB wins.well,Zambia is finished.MMD will make u poor so that u can’t make proper decisions.

  109. #163 “The Real People”…do you really read through your reasonings….sometimes your critisims seem objective but most of times…awe kanabesa……. #164…. Tiza wina this year….. all corrupt chaps its goodbye

  110. the author lacks political history and dynamic research.HOW MANY TIMES DID ABRAHAM LINCOLN (usa) attempted to become president?he did it 11 times now what is the reason of SATA 3 STOLLEN VOTES LOSS?OF COURSE I KNOW ARE ARE BEING PAID FOR YOUR PROPAGANDA BUT DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST .

  111. Zambia will never have such a thrilling comedian after sata, we will certainly miss him on that score after 20th. I would urge the likes of Bob Nkosha to learn one or two tricks from him while he is still on stage.

  112. Zero Boys then it means you are following if you are able to see sense in some points. It was meant for people like you to see if you are able to judge properly. Then let me continue with conitnuity with development.Umuntu ni RB and if you are in the canoe my friend then you are in the wrong place

  113. THE Lusaka High Court has dismissed an application by Lusaka freelance journalist Chanda Chimba seeking the resumption of his Stand Up for Zambia television programme while the Supreme Court was determining his appeal on the matter.

Ruling in a case where Chimba appealed against the High Court’s earlier decision to grant the injunction, High Court judge Patrick Matibini dismissed Chimba’s application on ground that his defence of justification, fair comment and privilege were not likely to succeed at trial.

Judge Matibini said the defendants’ conduct fell short of the standard of responsible journalism

  114. Kapumpe, thats your opinion with your MMD. This year, MMD, RB, ZNBC, TIMES OF ZAMBIA, DAILY MAIL & KAPUMPE, KUYA BEBELE! ITS PABWATOOOOOOOOO. VIVA BASATA

  115. Ruling on the matter yesterday, Judge Matibini said staying the injunction and resuming the broadcasting of Stand Up for Zambia would not be in public interest.

“Put quite plainly, I held in effect that the defendants did not behave fairly, reasonably and responsibly. In view of the foregoing, it cannot therefore be in the public interest to stay the injunction, and resume the broadcasting of Stand up for Zambia, pending the trial of the action,” said Judge Matibini.

“Thus I have no hesitation in holding that in the circumstances, and on authority, the application for a stay of the interim injunction, must, therefore, be refused. Costs follow the event, and leave to appeal is granted.”

  116. you c ba zambia if your reaction was also the same about the Post then we would have said its justice.Tell do you see HH,NAREP,Magande, Miyand in the Post.have you ever seen the post say anything positive about government

  117. Zambians once changed gvt. to one of their own- MMD. Change sometimes is inevitable especially where the nation, region and international community vouche for it directly or indirectly. Indeed change is necessary where it is for the good of the lot. There is also resistence to change in certain quarters for various reasons. These usually dont include change for the sake of change, or change from worse to worst not even from old clothes to new ones for that approach defeats change itself. In the absence of rational cause for change we require continuity for confidence of the nation, region and international community at large.

  118. PK CHISHALA:

Chinshi chalya Father Bwalya? Ninkoko yakwe ! Zambia yonse yaima yamukanina,

tatwasumina mu-PF fwebenaLesa Lisambi ! [CHORUS]

  119. Muna Dekhane i like your reasoning and last sentence finishes it well. You are very wise.so in this case we dont have a rational cause for change because of the growth we are experiencing. So Umuntu ni RB and MMD for development

  120. I fail to see any logic in this article. If you “fail” three times it does not mean you should quit. How many good inventions had several failures before the product was perfected? Did Kapumpe walk without falling a few times when he was a toddler? Winning an election is about selling oneself to the electorate and figures show support for Sata has grown since he launched his party.Hatred for the man should not cloud objectivity.

  121. #185 The Real People – True. Ushitasha MMD nindoshi ! Right now I don’t see any alternative to RB and his MMD. May be others could do something good as well, but their parties are still too small. Ba Sata, granted that I respect him as an elderly and I have nothing against him as an ordinary citizen, but I’m afraid at the moment I don’t think he is sane and fit enough to run a sophisticated economy such as Zambia where we have now reached. From Mr Banda we can only look for someone younger in 2016. We can’t keep on going backwards as if we don’t have younger chaps who can take over. Also at the moment I just think that RB has a really good focus; his investment plans really have the potential to change Zambia probably more than it has ever done since 1991.

  122. Thats the word Kunta Kunte tell these people from the canoe. Nabapenya na father bwalya.Kupena kulya sure.Kuti waipaila ikoko pa public sure ba bwalya.Nimwe bashimapepo

  123. No matter how hard you try the like’s of CHANDA CHIMBA and ZNBC. the FACTS that are seen on the ground will not change, even RB himself has seen it and questions his member not to miss lead him, the best you can do is to question why people are behind this man called SATA, beside RB trying to bring in these developments and the rating of the country to a middle income nation, the bumper harvest recorded, in Zambian history no minister has ever and will ever attend the levels of works that SATA did during his time as a minister, the solution he provided in health sector , local government , speaks volumes, the question is what if this man was made head of state?

  124. Sata was working under Chiluba..those were chilubaz works..y shud he take praise for that..Sata will never be president

  125. I love this thought and I have really enjoyed it. This is evident that the MMD sympasers are running mad. Whoever the author of this article is, must know that SATA is winning. wether you like it or not this is just a fact. From the so called stratagy, we can clearly see that this is what the mmd is looking forward to. sending thugs on the street but it will not work. From this article, any intelligent person will see that the last two paragraphs do not favour the MMD candidate, they actually speak positve about Mr. Sata, who I know has been consistant in speaking for the people and he has never been selfish. Rupia has been and this is a fact and evidence can be produced (eg) the sale of Zamtel sold by the child as mediator. For sure Sata’s interest is to save us Zambians.

  126. When M. Kapumpe was writing his article, he should have taken into account the following statistical realities from the Electoral Commission of Zambia. Here are some brute facts.

The final register of voters from the Electoral Commission of Zambia at the end of the official registration of voters in April this year shows that there were 5,167,154 registered voters broken down as follows: Central (482,013),Copperbelt (845,569), Eastern (644,725), Luapula (408,937), Lusaka (772,458), Northern (659,534), Northwestern (315,670), Southern (643,588), Western (394,660)

  127. Of the 5,167,154 newly registered voters, the following is the picture that emerges If we break down these figures in terms of assumed strongholds of the three major parties based on the 2006 tripartite election results: PF with Copperbelt ((845,569), Luapula (408,937), Lusaka (772,458), and Northern (659,534) has 2,686,498 or 52% of the total registered voters; MMD with Central (482,013), Eastern (644,725), and Western (394,660) has 1,521,398or 29% of total registered voters; and UPND with Northwestern (315,670), Southern (643,588) l 959,258 or 19% of the total registered voters.
Unless there is a sudden change or erosion of support of cataclysmic proportions in these three parties‘strongholds, I don’t foresee RB and MMD having an easy victory this time around.

  128. #196 – MAX MBIZO – statistics don’t really matter. we have always had those at every election and yet most of the times deciding results infact come from lower population provinces. what matters is how many will actually vote on the day and who they will vote for.

  129. SATA is the only factor for the MMD, they are very much aware of what this man is capable even the one who wrote this article knows, his intension are the same as that of CHANDA CHIMBA I agree with #191

  130. #198 MAX MBIZO – I think your statistical tabulation is very naive. if zambia was that perfectly carved out RB would not have won in 2008. No one presidential candidate ever sweeps a province 100%. It is such un-considered tabulations that embarrass even learned professors at universities when the candidates they support end up losing. For instance, in 2008 Sata was leading in Lusaka, Copperbelt, Luapula and Northern. But that was pretty much it. To win in Zambia you need votes from everywhere. What happened was RB was either leading or was number 2 all across the country, while Sata and HH were either leading or number 3…statistically you already see the odds favouring RB…and that will repeat itself this year! Don’t underrate MMD mdala.

  131. Kunta Kinte,

If you understand elementary probability theory, the fact still remains that the probability of RB winning these elections is negligible based on the figures from ECZ.

  132. Sata is really a political champion that`s why he is the only talked about oposition by the majority in Zambia. Champion balamumaka sana. But I believe he will make it. This is what used to happen to Zuma in S.A . RB and MMD are haunted by this name. Wapya Sata uyo!!!! Pa bwato !!!!!!!!!

  133. M. Kapumpa don’t you have a boxing match to promote? Please leave the job of defaming MCS to a real journalist like me!

  134. #202 MAX MBIZO – I don’t know what probability you are talking about, mate. I’m a statistician myself by the way. In 2008 we had a similar argument with another colleague, RB won. Okay, here is the basic reality for you without going into details: Sata WON’T WIN all thos 52% of voters. He will share those votes with other candidate. The truth is, outside those four provinces Sata will be getting almost zero, like what happened in 2008. Infact I can tell you that Sata’s popularity is far less than it was in 2008, while RB and HH have grown in popularity. So for Sata even in Lusaka it won’t be a walk-over like last time. Well, 20th September is only a couple of weeks away now. I’m sure we will meet again and I will congratulate you if Sata wins.

  135. Rhupia Banda is nothing but a stupid and foolish thief. Ala B is a crook and now is pissing in his daipers all nine provinces do not want him zambians boo him like a clown sure he is his downfall together with his beyatchies will fall -18 days to go

  136. #205 I really like your mature and considered contribution. You truly are an asset to PF and it is extremely heartening to know that a party that attracts support from the likes of you will never be in power in Zambia.

  137. Zambians for sure are going to vote for Sata because RUPIAH Banda is selling Zambia’s land for POLITICAL reasons. He is a friend to MORON Monkey who wee on him at State House1!!

For sure RUPIAH BANDA will bring the same religious fighting that are being experienced in NIGERIA.

RUPAH is a bad leader, for goodness saka how does RUPIAH single handedly give a plot to MUSLIMS in a place where there are no PLOTS in Lusaka?

Did RUPIAH and the MMD get some election funding?

  138. PF cadres never see sense. When they were in the PACT with UPND they claimed that the two leaders knew who would be selected to lead the PACT into the elections. The truth was that the two leaders Mr Sata and HH were equally at sea like their members, and in fact were looking for guidance from their members. Today they retain the same false confidence when their strongholds have been carved into. Today MMD has gained a good share of Copperbelt and Lusaka. The rural votes have remained a no-go for PF, it simply does not have the grassroots organization to dent this segment of votes. Add to that the bumper harvests, real money in their pockets, FISP, schools for their children, roads (Chipata-Mfuwe, Mongu-Kalabo, Mutanda-Chavuma, etc), and hospitals including mobiles hospitals.

  139. Can PF cadres please tell us what their club PF has done to convince people to vote for them this time round apart from insults, deception and innuendos by the Post? Look here, votes do not rain from heaven, votes are not wishes. You earn votes by strategy and hard work. This is not a game of wishes bane, it is a serious game of minds, wits and strategy followed by hard work to reach as many voters as possible, and convince them with truth and things that they can touch and feel. Tell me how much work PF has put into the campaigns or the quality of their campaigns or how many Zambians have bought the 90 days money in your pockets etc. To crown it all, the chief campaign tools of the PF, the Post and “father” bwalya, have been a disgust to many Zambians.

  140. # 18. Sorry I saw your comment but I was extremely busy and did not want to worst my good morning discussing this nonsensical and useless cadre article. I will start with you first. What sensible thing did you find in this article that excited you? Seems like you don’t know that Jere authors these articles and sends them around as a campaign for his boss. In fact, as the article stands, it shows how shallow Zambian journalism is. To me this is not even ghetto journalism, but purely gutter journalism. And it excites you? Wait a minute, did I see you in Sesame Street?

About the video. Sata stated facts and he was very articulate about what he was discussing. He gave statistical evidence that you so called smart ones in MMD thought he would never do. There, he did, and so eloquently

  141. #218, The Great Kalos2121 in denial again as usual. Did you read the footnote about the 9,000 votes which Mr Sata claimed were stolen by RB in Vubwi? The author reminds us that RB actually got just 3,925 votes there. See how Mr Sata tells lies even to BBC?

  142. Who wrote the footnote? What denial? Try some retro bambo. It will help you immensely. Some of you guys cannot stop posting and talking. When do you think?

  143. WITH A REALISATION THAT DURING THE 2008 ELECTIONS SATA LOST TO RB BY 35,900 VOTES, SATA WAS FORCED TO STRATEGISE AS FOLLOWS: (1) CHEAT UPND INTO A PACT AND GRAB PRESIDENCY, RELEGATE HH TO VICE-PRESIDENCY FOR TWO WEEKS, FIRE HIM TO BE REPLACED BY GUY SCOTT. (2) WITH BREAK-UP OF THE PF/UPND PACT, SATA RESOLVED TO FAN CONFUSION BY (a) SPLASH ACUSATIONS OF CORRUPTION ON THE ACC, ECZ AND THE DURBAN PRINTING FIRM; (b) RAISE PARENTAGE ISSUE AGAINST RB; (c) CAMPAINED FOR PRINTING OF VOTER CARD IN LUSAKA TO BE INFILTRATED BY PF WORKERS; (d) ARRANGED WITH FODEP TO STEAL VOTER’S CARD IN DURBAN SO AS TO ACUSE ECZ OF HAVING PRINTED VOTER’S CARDS IN ZAMBIA. THESE ACTIONS REVEAL STRATEGIES PLOTTED BY SATA & THE POST AS PREPARATION FOR PF’S IMPENDING DEFEAT, A FOREIGN PLAN TO FAN CONFUSION IN ZAMBIA.

  144. Which colleges are giving us such lunatic journalists? The way the article was laidout is as though he was running away from gunshots while writing! Anyway can put this straight and clear,,UPND has been grabbing seats from mmd,,the trend will continue this year,,secondly rural voters have shifted camps to UPND,,thirdly pf has no strong hold this year,,UPND has south,n/w,central & westen,,these others will be shared,,overal upnd will have the highest namba of mps..with HH winning overal votes,,,dont burry your heads in the sand you know the truth! has south,n/w,central & westen,,these others will be shared,,overal upnd will have the highest namba of mps..with HH winning overal votes,,,dont burry your heads in the sand you know the truth!

  145. This THING, ‘SATA..’ will always be number TWO. His support has dwindled. I had voted for him in 2008 but I will never again. RB is delivering on his campaign promises. Roads, hospitals, clinics, infrastructure development, investor confidence, lower middle income status, why more do you want? VIVA RB….! You have my vote

  146. “DR’ Obatala, the by-election results were for the defunct pact of PF&UPND. The winning gap was very narrow. If you split the votes between MMD,PF and UPND, it’s definite that MMD wins!

  147. VT point of correction,,when upnd scooped chilanga, solwezi and mufumbwe,,,guy scott wrote on his column in the post saying, “there was no pact influence in votes”,he put it clear that pf never voted in those by -elections,the post never covered the seats upnd scooped,,,your analysis lacks merit.. Why are you preaching to people to know rb projects,,cant they speak for themselves??this shows that mmd and pf and pushing an antihill with buttocks!

  148. I fear for mother Zambia if Satan wins these elections!! I hope i will find my family safe after the september 20th elections.

  149. We the Zambian people started the change process in 1990/1991 to which we resolved and marked with solemnity that we would want a democratically electet govt in wich pevails principles of “Good governance, Rule of Law, Accountability to people of Zambia and Transparency. Since then, we have cherrished these ideals by demonstration of existence of many political parties & their leaders now aspiring for presidency. It is these ideals with which we should hold so tenetiouslly to our souls and guard them so jealously, that if need be, it is an ideal with which we the Zambian should defend and be prepared to lay down our lives for.

  150. GROW UP GENTLEMEN BECAUSE ITS TIME WE CHANGED FROM POLITICS OF INSULTS OR NOT KNOWING WHY WE SUPORT SOME OF THESE PEOPLE INTO POLITICS OF DEVELOPMENT FOR OUR COUNTRY.SOME PEOPLE ON THIS BROG ARE WISE LIKE ONE GENTLE CHANGE IS ONLY SUPOSED TO EXECUTED WHEN THERE IS A NEED.SOME PEOPLE ON THIS SITE PICK SILLY ISSUES WITHOUT PROOF TO DISCREDIT MY HARD WORKING PRESIDENT. WHICH PRESIDENT HAS EVER PERFORMED THE WAY RB HAS PERFORMED IN THE THREE YEARS HE HAS BEEN PRESIDENT.LETS TALK ABOUT THE FOUR PRESIDENTS WE HAVE HAD RB IS COMING OUT NUMBER ONE.IT TOOK KK 27 YEARS TO SEE BIULDINGS WHICH MAKES HIM NUMBER TWO,MWANAWASA STAYED SEVEN YEARS IN POWER BUT WHICH SCHOOLS AND CLINICS WHERE STARTED AND FINISHED IN HIS TERM AND BA CHILUBA PLEAS.RB IS THE BEST BECAUSE HE HAS PERFORMED EXTREMELY WELL

  151. when someone is good you dont need to tell the people ont Kubeba because your archivements will make them owez speak about themThe PF have owez been saying MMD is not doing this will be doing this.Make your own proposals ba Mubwe.Umuntu ni RB and for development i will owez support RB and MMD.In 2008 i gave my vote to SATA because i didnt know what RB can do now i have seen because he believes in letting his works speak for him.Ba SATA from 2001 to date bapangafye ichongo nama MPs yabo and i think thats why even the rebel Mps left him.and when you come to Up and Down i dont even know where the get there confidence from because the places they claim to be there stronghold its only southern i know of these other places they are always under dogs.RB you have my vote keep on developing

  152. There are plans the MMD want to use.1. They want to sponsor fake NGOs to predict the elections so that people loose hope that MMD will win.2. They want to use UGP to use the technology of deleting. In places like Eastern, Northwestern, Southern, Western and some Ndola rural, when u vote Sata or HH the vote will appear on MMD after some hours. Self-deleting while voting for RB after 2-5hours of voting.3. They are trying to bribe people with lot of millions who want to conduct PVT. The negotiations are still going on but its difficult coz Catholic/Jesuits are difficult to bribe. Protestant churches are easy and MMD has almost managed.4.If Catholics and Americans with help from the post, radio station(ichengelo, yatsani, QFM, Phoenix etc conduct PVT MMD will definitely loose come 20th Septemb

  153. 5. Kabonde wants to use violence even simple explosions so that OP people could find a way to deliver marked ballots papers in places where MMD seem to win always. It seems people will abandon the polling centers and run for safety. IG (Kabonde) will accuse PF that it has lost the elections hence want to bring violence in the country.6. After devouring, the marked boxes there will be order and counting will continue. This will make MMD wins after counting theMMD marked ballots. These ballots will be marked in such way that even unpopular candidates will get something in rural areas.7. If all this options fail, RB will force the ECZ chairperson to announce him or do something bad on her such that there will confusion in the country.

  154. WHEN THE ARTICLE IS ABOUT SATA..THERE ARE ALOT OF COMMENTS 232 CANT BELIVE THIS, U REMEMBER WHEN THEY WERE SAYING HE IS SICK, HOW MANY COMMENTS.???//..THIS CHAP SATA IS WINNING, I GIVE U MY VOTE

  155. I was warming up to Sata until I saw this video. We are in trouble if this the best we can do in terms of leadership in Zambia. Even Robert Mugabe would not speak like that to the press!

  156. Kwena ubupuba pa Zed tabwakapwe. i think poverty has brain washed a lot of Zambians. Sure aba nabo ninshi bachita analysis ya ma politics ya pa Zed. To start with, what makes you think that RB is winning these elections? If you are normal like most of us then you better keep quiet than waste peoples time by reading this nonsense. Sure if you say RB has brought development do you realise what happening behind the scenes? How can the entire tender procedures be done at state house? From Zamtel, RP capital ,oil saga mention any deal where his children have not been mentioned and to you this is what you call development? I think you must be an *****.

  157. Chachine ni Tombolilo. Do you have facts with your accusation. problem ba mubwe Post ilamibepa sana. look the case of UPG where Mpombo came accusing RB’s son when the case was taken to court did he show up the same Mpombo

  158. thats why people like tombolino mislead zambians and because of baseless accusation like these which made the Post and Nchito brothers rich at the expense of zambian peoples tax.

  159. I have never read something as stupid as this. where did this Kapumpe grow up from? if i was you, this will be my last article ever.

  160. You the so called Kunta kinte and the Real People YOU are so foolish, senseless people!!!! Wait for 20th September, you be hunted !!! you are all over writing as if you own this blog..f**K Viva Pabwato!!!!!!

  161. Continue dreaming. I can assure you that nothing will stop Sata from entering state house this time around. RB and his MMD have lost Northwestern, Western and Central provinces. Divisions are ruming in his own backyard – Eastern province and we are only remaining with 13days before a decree is made that let that who is destined to the dust bin of history as one such president who sturbonly ruled Zambia with a corrupt hand. Keep dreaming, but I’ll assure you, you’ll remember my words, come 22nd September when the last vote will be counted. Its never too late you still have time to join the winning team and help rescue the majority poor……..
