Police rescue Sata from irate UPND

Quick action by police in Mangango in Western Province prevented Patriotic Front-PF Leader Michael Sata from being lynched by irate UPND cadres on Thursday.

This was after Mr. Sata went to Mangango hoping to meet his members, only to find UPND cadres gathered at the place.

The UPND cadres got incensed by Mr. Sata’s presence and charged towards the PF leader.

But police responded swiftly, rescuing and whisking him away in a Mangango police vehicle to another place.

Mr. Sata was later led to a place where his cadres had gathered.

Police Spokesperson Ndandula Siamana has confirmed the development to ZNBC News in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, President Rupiah Banda says he will deal firmly with anyone advocating violence ahead of the September 20 Polls.

President Band says no one should be allowed to advocate violence and that Zambians must be allowed to vote in peace.

President was speaking in Lukulu on Thursday when he addressed a mammoth rally at Fernando grounds.

President Banda says as long as he is republican president the country will remain peaceful and those going around fanning violence will be dealt with so that Zambians can enjoy their democratic right peacefully on September 20.

He has urged MMD members not to accept provocation from any one and urged other political leaders to stand up and denounce violence.

And the President has appealed to the MMD to campaign in a positive manner ahead of the polls.

He says the MMD must use the few days that have remained before the elections to tell people the massive development projects implemented in the three years that he has been in office.

He says the MMD has worked and development is there for everyone to see across the country.

The president is accompanied by United Liberal Party President Sakwiba Sikota and Veteran Politician Vernon Mwaanga and other party officials.

  18. Sata did the same at the funeral of Duffy in Mongu. He went where he was not supposed to go and somehow disturbed some people/proceedings. Barely few days ago, he goes to the UPND’s gathering. What’s wrong with this man? Is it dementia? He was luck he was not beaten.

  52. HE the outgoing Republican President R.B. Banda has changed his campaign strategy for Western province only. For all the other provinces he has visited he started with the Provincial headquarters, but for western, coz he’s not sure of what will happen in Mongu, he’s started by going round western province rural and remote districts, while PF continues to gain mileage in the urban parts of the province RBB’s only hope is the rural vote. Where will they (MMD) get the 31000 votes this time around?

Zambia needs to be divided into 3 parts after 20 th September: Southern Province for the Tongas, Western and North Western for Lozis should and the rest which is a bigger part dominated by the clever Bembas. The Tongas and the Lozis should continue to pay royalties to the superior Bembas who liberated Zambia in 1964 and for waking them up to the fact the they can now rule themselves. There should be no Universities or Schools in the Lozi and Tonga land. Lozi and Tonga students should come to the Bembaland as foreign students to be educated in a way the Bembas think they suitable.

    Donchi Kubeba concept was applied to SATA by his own people.
    They refused to give him information as to where they had organised the rally.
    The PF organisers agreed that charity starts at home.
    They went further to say that we must begin to implement the DONCHI KUBEBA policy within our party before implementing it at national level.
    When some said tell the bigman SATA where we are others said No, DONCHI KUBEBA.
    That is why the bigman SATA ended up being lost.

People of Zambia there are better leaders we can give a chance than Sata because this man is full of anger in his heart and will stop at nothing to instill violence in Zambia. Zambians don’t be used by him to gain political millage for himself and once he is in state will run our nation like a chicken run putting everyone in fear as though he is the king. :(
