Chansa, Clfford Arrive For Libya Game

Share

Five players include Orlando Pirates midfielder Isaac Chansa have jetted in ahead of Zambia’s training camp that starts tomorrow in Kitwe.

Chansa makes a shock return to the fold after recently recovering from a two-month injury layoff and one-match suspension.

According to Faz, the five Saturday arrivals from South Africa including Chansa are defenders Davies Nkausu of SuperSport United and Kampamba Chintu of Bidvest Wits.

Also amongst the arrivals was utility midfielder Noah Chivuta of Free State Stars.

Bloemfontein winger Clifford Mulenga has also arrived for the Libya game to be played at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola on October 8.

Expected arrivals on Sunday are Free State Stars goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene including the Golden Arrows duo of Collins Mbesuma and Joseph Musonda.

Meanwhile, Zambia will drive up to Kitwe with coach Dario Bonetti on Sunday ahead of Mondays first training session.

Bonetti was being expected today after a three week working tour in Europe.

And Libya are expected to arrive on Tuesday from Tunisia where they setup an 18-day training camp preparing for the game against Zambia.

Zambia require only a draw to qualify for 2012 Africa Cup tournament to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea from January 21 to February 12.

Bonetti’s side is on 12 points, one more than Libya ahead of the two teams final Group C match next weekend.

  1. whats wrong with us, we like takinng things in laisze fare kind of way we xpect to win against a highly motivated team(from or still at war) camping 18days against our 5days camp. wait and and pray we just draw.

  2. I really do not understand why Chansa keeps coming back to the squad….he is an ‘ok’ player but am afraid the national team needs exceptional players like Clifford Mulenga. I hope Kalusha has stopped his nonsense of blocking players who are on their way to breaking his storied record like Clifford Mulenga and dont tell me Kalu has no hand in picking the national team players!

  3. Spot on@ Masney about the kalu interference. We know how egocentric our great man is. So he is definitely doing his bit for self preservation. how sad for a leader!
I must disagree with u about Isaac Chansa though. I am based here in S.A & have been a die hard fan of Pirates even b4 I left Zed. I played at Nchanga U-14 when Lota & Ackson Shimbala were seniors. There later would turn out for Bucs & trigger my love for the sea robbers. So belive me, Isaac is a match winner. He just dont seem to do for Zambia what he does for Pirates. And I don’t know why. But one day is one day. I pray Libya is the day

  4. well it is interesting 18 day camp to our five day camp. bonet didnt even train atleast witht he local fellows. zed great wishes; i do not accept anything less than a draw.

  6. #2 masney, i believe you dont know Chansa very well or may be you have not watched him closely and see what he is capable of doing in the midfield, watch him closely u will know how important he is to zambia national team. Anyway all the best for zambia.

  7. gentlemen its not everything you comment on. there are things you have very little knowledge about and its better to keep quite. You dont have to watch Isaac at Pirates to know he is a good midfielder. wemwine uteya iciyenga you want to show us which player is good and which one is not..anywhere nabakweba kale Isaac is a damn good player. maybe the combination in the national team fails to bring the best out of him but even then he is not bad at all. good lucky Zambia, yes good luck because you are playing with guys that are taking this game seriosly when you have won before playing. preparation brings out the best in you not gambling…..

  8. Chansa is a utility midfieder. Te anchorman and this is the job he does at Pirates. This is what has made Pirates Cup-Winners. As for the Zed-Team Chansa palys well, but plays have to follow the systen employed but the Coach. I can only hope for the best results. Bonetti doe not understand our players upto now. He really struggles with his game plans.

  9. Our players are busy at their respectable clubs , its impossible for any club to let their dependable players for 18 days let’s be realistic.

  10. lets go chipolopolo we beat these boys from a war torn country, but don’t be over confident becoze they may just over turn the tables.give us a win the this new government so that the old man in state house can also give u more money in your pockets.
