Share

Three Copperbelt teams made it through to Tuesday’s Barclays Cup semifinals draws after recording wins in their respective quarterfinal doubleheader matches played on Saturday in Lusaka and Kitwe.

POWER 7- LUENA BUFFALOES 0

Power Dynamos cruised to the semifinals of this year’s Barclays Cup after a thumping promotion chasing Division 1 South side Luena Buffaloes 7-0 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe this afternoon.

Luka Lungu scored a hat-trick as the 2009 Barclays Cup champions hurtled to their fourth successive Barclays Cup semifinal appearance.

Lungu scored his goals in the 3rd, 9th and 55th minutes.

Defender Govender Simwala scored a rare goal with Power’s third of the match in the 33rd minute before Gift Wamundila turned the ball into his own net in the 44th minute.

Simon Bwalya made it 6-0 a minute before fulltime before Felix Nyaende completed the rout on the death.

ZANACO 0- NKANA 2

Nkana will be making their first Barclays Cup semifinal appearance after beating 2010 runners-up Zanaco 2-0 away at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka today.

A brace from Evans Kangwa in the 48th and 89th minutes, the latter from a penalty he won, handed Nkana a deserved victory over Zanaco.

The win was Nkana’s first competitive victory over Zanaco this season after losing and drawing with The Bankers in the league.

KONKOLA BLADES 2- NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS 0

Konkola Blades ended their four-year Barclays Cup semifinal absence after a 2-0 win over Nakambala Leopards at Arthur Davies Stadium today.

Frank Mulambo scored a first minute own-goal to give Blades the lead before Graven Chitalu made sure of Blades first last four appearance since 2007 with the second goal in the 75th minute.

RED ARROWS 2- INDENI 0

Red Arrows are the only Midlands side still standing in this year’s Barclays Cup after beating promotion chasing Division 1 North club Indeni 2-0 at Nkoloma.

A brace by their impressive midfielder Mwape Mwelwa with a strike in the 5th minute and a 49th minute free kick secured Arrows semifinal place.

  1. Hmmm, these are strange results indeed. Since when did Nkana start beating ZANACO at their home ground. Wasn’t Nkana in Division one recently and ZANACO Representating Zambia in CAF Champions league? Things change so quickly ka.

  2. I hope there was no match Fixing in  the Nkana-ZANACO game because I know Nkana Makula with violent fans

  3. Anyone normal does not care about football!

How and why should one get paid for kicking a rounded pumped rag, called a football is beyond me

Football is one of the worst thing that has ever happened in the 19th and 20th centuries. When I flick channels on my SKy dish they talk about it, How upsetting, I got my CIMA and ACCA and Masters and although I am egtting £60 000 which no one is getting probably in zambia, I just wonder why these people that have never studied should be accorded any more special dispensation on my 72″ TV and newspapers

Please disband football and stop reporting it on here

    Thanks

    • I respect you oppinion. I love soccer and will always love it for reason best known to myself and other soccer lovers. I can only wish you well with your CIMA Games.

    • Try golf…am sure u are so bad looking and fat..so u cant get any endorcements …Try getting another one say CIPFA or CIT who knows..oh and while you are at it change your ugly face look more like a monkey(remember bubbles Micheal Jackson’s Chimp)i hear it made about 100 thousand quid just shitting there and looking cute..My point is hav some respect!!!

  4. #2 Soccer Fan Number 7, nawishiba, ubupuba bubi. Mubu puba, mutula uku pena. Who are Zanaco compared to Nkana. We have talent ifwe not utu ma team twa ku Lusaka mwaiche.

  5. hahahahahahahah… Mushota you are a very funny lady. your coments used to irritate me at times but i am now used. keep entertaining us please and dont forget….in the name of the game. I give Manchester united as your team, pay interest to watch them and you will see that football is life. you cant do without it.

  6. Soccer Fan Number 7,

Uli fontini sana. When were you born? Nkana is one of the best teams this country has produced having been in existence for more than sixty years with a soccer record which still remains unequaled. Their success only slackened in recent years because of lack of sponsorship. ZANACO is just a baby in comparison

  7. Mushota, you are just a prostitute beach…!!One can tell all the people how much he or she is getting, unless you are prostitute like you beach..!! which ACCA have you passed or CIMA apart from having different men every day ..!!!

  8. To all you Nkana dunderheads supporters , who I suspect are Mushota’s brothers, you need to come out of your utopia world and smell the real world. Unless you have been living under a rock, please note that this is not 1980s or 1990s , and that Beston Chambeshi, Kapambwe Mulenga, Jericho Shinde and what not are did not feature in yesterday’s match.

For the last 10 years, and I mean 10 years (and challenge me on this) Nkana have spent a big chunk of that playing Division one football and qualify to be called amakula. Comparing Nkana’s record with ZANACO’s record in the last 10 years is like comparing the Sun to a candle light. NO contest.

Am talking about today’s Nkana. Debate me on that.

    • Soccer fan number 7…..The point is be beat Zanaco period…2- zero,so ngabalekulila abakashi u will still dwell on the old fact that you once had a big dick and used to go past 2 rounds?the only debate i would want is to confirm whether Mushota is your Boyfriend or not!!!

  9. Power 90 is super-charged this season. Give us Nkana in the Semi, then we can show these Jail-Boys (Jeraboz) some soccer lessons. DINAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  10. Please give Luena Buffaloes credit. The boy traveled for more than 12 hours by road. They were very tired and they field was something new to them. My brother is the coach and I know that they make it next time. Chisanga, well done man. Love u and hope to see when I come over
