The Copperbelt Has Made Me A better Coach, Keagan Mumba

Share

Konkola Blades coach Keagan Mumba has admitted that he has become a better coach after taking charge of a Copperbelt club.

Mumba made his Copperbelt coaching debut when joined Blades at the start of this season from defunct Choma Eagles.

Blades is currently 4th and in a top five battle for runner-up spot with two games to go before the season ends.

Furthermore, Blades are in the Barclays Cup final, the Chililabombwe clubs first appearance in a cup final since 2003.

“For me I was not a complete coach that why I said I want to go and work on the Copperbelt there is something I thought I was missing,” Mumba said.

“Midlands and Copperbelt football is different. I can’t reveal that secret because I would be selling myself.

“I have been exposed to competitive football, real game situations. There is more to it there (On the Copperbelt) than that meets the eye.”

Meanwhile, Mumba said he was also happy to see promoted Konkola Mine Police become the second Chililabombwe club in the Faz Super Division starting next year.

“They train with us and I am happy that we have been part of their success and am also happy now that Chililabombwe has two teams in the top flight,”  Mumba said who has coached City of Lusaka and Green Buffaloes include Zimbabwean giants Dynamos.

  1. Keegan tell us the secret between copperbelt and lusaka football..dont hide please..and not ukushamo tumo. Just remember next time you think of not saying about anything, sont even say it

  2. Keegan is lying about having an input into Konkola Mine Police promotion. Infact he stopped the relationship that has existed between the two teams for years. Concentrate on the good things that you have done for Konkola Blades. He should claim any part in the success at Konkola Mine Police. They have just worked hard on their own.

  3. What talent do you expect from Lusaka when every small space available for recreation iz a mega-million kwacha rezidential plot? I see that coming to the Copperbelt very soon, but there iz just natural futbo talent pa CB, Luapula and Northern Provincez.

  4. Blades have tested top slots three times this season and thats great but we want more to it than just testing the top slot…carry the Barclays cup atleast…as for konkola Mine Police,,Jeff is the man and not you Keagan.

  5. We all appreciate wat Mr Mumba hs done for Konkola Blades. Looking forward to the Konkola blades Vs Mpoo local derby. Bottoms up for Hosiah “Sia” Siame for helping Konkola Mine Police (Mpoo) get promoted to Premier League, U dezev our congrats man.

  6. the secrete he is talking about is: 1. There is more support and interests from funs on the CB than Lsk, so coaches are under pressure. 2. Mighty was getting players frm luapula and Nkhana frm solwezi/northern, these have natural talents. 3. there are more football fields in the compunds of CB than the midlands.4. CB people have no DSTVs and watch more of Zed football than foreign, hence a morale booster.5. there is more competition between CB teams than any other.6. local councils support football more on the CB than any other.

    • stupid GHL…WHO TOLD YOU THAT THERE IS NO dstv ON THE cb…ASK MULTICHOICE THE REGION THAT GIVES THEM MORE BUCKS THAN ANY OTHER REGION IN ZAMBIA…you will be shocked.
