Jacob Could Miss Africa Cup

Share

Jacob Mulenga’s availability for the 2012 Africa Cup is in great doubt after undergoing knee surgery on Wednesday.

The FC Utrecht’s official site reported that the 27 year old striker could be out of action for a minimum of 6 months.

Mulenga underwent surgery on his left knee for torn ligament.

“The knee was so-to-say cleaned on Wednesday to prepare for a recovery operation in three to four weeks. The process of revalidation has started as of now, but it will take at least six to nine months,” Utrecht’s clud doctor Frank van Hellemondt told fcunrecht.nl .

  1. I saw this guy limp off the game after scoring last weekend…he sure does have problems with his injuries, last season started off well for him only to be knocked out..this year as well…six months is a long time…at 27 one should be at the peak of their career and this boy has not had it easier…STAY PUT JACOB, HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT…your last game against Ajax was all YOU…miss this one but we shall pray you are well enough to enjoy the last six years plus of your career at the heightest level and participate in 2013 South Africa Caf finals…

  2. Baiche, this is our time to win the africa cup, there are no big teams like egypt, nigeria and…ive forgotten the other teams. My point is , its time you brought this cup home.

  3. Jacob Mulenga likula sana thats why he is prone to injuries, i see him many times running faster than the ball and as if he is blind so what do u expect of such a player. Anyway he used to scare big names in africa although they did not know that he was just useless

  4. Sad development indeed. It was so good to see him score against Ajax over the weekend. He limped after chipping the ball over the Ajax keeper, as he collided with a defender. His our hero and to go to AFCON without him is a big loss. Lets hope he recovers soon.
