Zambia Under-20 stayed in second place in Group C at the Cosafa Youth Championships in Botswana after beating Mauritius 4-0 this evening in Molepolole.
The defending champions were inspired by a brace scored by Nkana’s teenage striker Reynold Kampamba in the 31st and 46th minutes.
Red Arrows midfielder Shadreck Malambo added the third goal in the 68th minute.
Nkana striker Evans Kangwa scored Zambia’s fourth of the game and his third goal of the tournament in the 79th minute.
Zambia have 4 points from two games, level with leaders South Africa who drew 1-1 with 3rd placed Tanzania in the earlier kickoff at the same venue.
Only goal difference separates the three teams on four points each from two games placed.
It looks like Group C will go down to the wire on Tuesday with the derby showdown between South Africa and Zambia at 17:00 hours at the same venue taking center stage.
