Bank of Zambia has said that it was unaware of any retirement benefits due to the former Minister of Finance and National Planning, Situmbeko Musokotwane. This is according to BoZ head of public relations Kanguya Mayondi.
This follows allegations by President Sata recently that Dr Musokotwane was receiving two salaries after he left the bank to become secretary to the treasury and later economic advisor at State House.
Dr Musokotwane said when he was hired as a consultant by the bank to provide certain services, he did not get any remuneration from Government as an economic advisor at State House.
He challenged Government to countercheck the payrolls at the bank and Government to verify if at one point he got double salaries.
It was alleged that Dr Musokotwane stands to pocket up to several billions in retirement packages from the government through the Bank of Zambia (BoZ) where he once served as a deputy governor.
But the bank, in a response to a press query, yesterday stated that it does not owe Dr Musokotwane any benefits.
“The Bank of Zambia wishes to state that it is not aware of any payments which are due to the former Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane.
“The Bank of Zambia further wishes to urge you to contact Dr Musokotwane directly for any further information,” Mr Mayondi said.
So who is a fool now? Malabishi yeka-yeka. Interest of going home is eroding fast cos of the direction our country is fast heading to.
So why was this nerd claiming he is owed money then?

I think PF really need to settle down and stop behaving like they are in opposition.
It is true Dr Musokotawne never claimed that he wanted benefits from BOZ. This was president’s SATA’s claim. Sata claimed that the DR was getting double salaries and in his hateful mind concluded that the Dr will even pocket benefits from BOZ.
I think the president should have asked BOZ first before going public. He needs to start using advisors around him and just speak from a prepared speech if he has no disciplined to curb his opposition mindset of mentality.
He should realise he is a president now and he has access to all resources.

Why should such individual cases be national issues requiring Presidential declarations? Why is the President doing the work of an HR clerk? The PF motor-mouth-Sata has turned out to be a clear and present danger to Zambia. What a national curse we have taken in this gambled move! Rascals are not meant for national executive leadership office political theaters. Why did Zambians allow this parody to cross the line from political cadre to State house? The nation has engaged itself in reverse overdrive. Indisputably Federalism is at hand and all PF cadres blindly following this relic in its doom are ruining their lives and future. It will leave them ruined outcasts unacceptable in the new Zambia time will deliver.

would have lost terribly.Mongu-Kalabo road was not in the Budget for 2011.This was an agreement between China and Zambia in 2006 to reconstruct the road by the late Pres Mwanawasa.The former President Banda to gether with Musokotwane went to China to complete the deal.Kaunda did the same for the construction of TAZARA.TuTa road and Lusaka -mongu road.These are big projects which need bilaterial agreements.Chanese have already brought the bridges please let them finish it

I urge Zambians to show their displeasure with the manner Sata is conducting himself by ensuring that all PF candidates lose the ensuing by-elections should they succeed in their election petitions now before the courts of law.
