Dr. Nevers Mumba Stands Firm on Zimbabwe Election Report

Defends Preliminary Findings Amid Controversy

The Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) observer mission, Dr. Nevers Mumba, has reiterated his support for the preliminary report on Zimbabwe’s recently concluded national elections. These elections saw incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa secure his position as the nation’s leader.

In the SADC report, Dr. Mumba’s team highlighted various concerns, including voting delays, the banning of opposition rallies, and biased state media coverage during the electoral process. However, this report drew criticism from both within and outside Zimbabwe.

Appearing on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview, Dr. Mumba remained resolute in his defense of the report, emphasizing that individuals are free to challenge it through legal means.

The former Republican Vice President of Zambia clarified that the report he presented on the Zimbabwe elections was not a personal account but rather a reflection of the findings of the SADC observer mission. He stressed that the SADC mission operates in accordance with established protocols and guidelines and does not take sides in electoral matters.

“When we go into a country, we do not observe elections as individuals but as representatives of SADC,” Dr. Mumba asserted. “The task of the SADC observer mission was to audit the election. I never sided with Chamisa,” he added, referring to the losing opposition presidential candidate, Nelson Chamisa.

Dr. Mumba concluded by affirming the integrity of the report, stating that it adhered to SADC’s guidelines and principles. He expressed his unwavering commitment to fairness and justice, highlighting the mission’s dedication to carrying out its role with integrity.

    • Well said @spaka…elo ba Nevers please keep up the spirit let the other sychophants like Fred Mmembe condemn you but we all know that the people of Zimbabwe are the real victims and anyone with a sense of morality will not endorse Zanu-PF as being legitimately elected not only for this election but the previous 4 elections or so. Zanu-PF lost all credibility years ago.

  2. Michael Chilufya Sata once referred to this man as Judas Iscariot. This was at the time he abandoned his role of spokesperson of the opposition alliance and accepted an appointment from LPM. When it comes to money the priest has no integrity.

  3. Mr 0 votes, charity begins at home. We would have accepted everything you said if you emulated it in your own backyard. You go where the wind goes and maybe you cannot see the tinkering and behaviours of our compromised leaders. The only positions you politicians should take is the people’s position. Integrity is when you do the right thing. You Mr Mumba will go down in history as a man who destroyed a vibrant party that belonged to the people of Zambia.

    • It pains that this nicompoop had his wish to destroy our party granted…..he was totally against us during the time we fought Unip but couldn’t deter us… the only way was to do it from the inside.

  4. A man of integrity. This was a brilliant and wise move by HH. Sadc has been a corrupt organisation supporting autocrats in southern Africa like that ugly useless thug mnangagwa. Let lazy lungu go and attend the inauguration of his fellow loser friend. We all know he lost elections. The people in zim showed mugabe the door, mnangagwa is not even quarter the man mugabe was. He will be toppled soon

  5. Dr.Mumba u have no integrity to talk about. You are a compromised stooge of Hichilema and the west.
Be careful of what u are planning to do in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe does not belong to ur European and American masters. Leave us alone!!!

  6. Mumba and your Hichilema
Keep ur hands off our country. U have sold Zambia to the capitalists.

  7. VJ Mwaanga would have done a better job than ‘Nefarious’ Mumba. When VJ Mwaanga says the UPND does not understand politics, it is exactly what ‘Nefarious’ Mumba has done in Zimbabwe on behalf of HH. The very things ‘Nefarious” Mumba complains about in Zimbabwe, are exactly the very things that HH is doing to the opposition in Zambia. So, HH and his chola boy “Nefarious’ Mumba cannot assume moral high ground over Zimbabwe and make the claims he is making in support of Chamisa.

    • So you wanted Mumba to tell lies that the elections were fair? What kind of an African are you? Cant you see why Leaders are being removed in Gabon and Niger etc. Too much corruption among African politicians

  10. We know of the grand plan by the americans to control the natural resorces of in Zambia, congo and Zimbabwe. This is to secure gold, copper , cobalt, manganese and Lithium. They have already found a fertile ground in Zambia with Mr. Hichilema the helm of the Zambian govt. The next destination is our Zimbabwe and hence the sending of one Dr.Nevers Mumba. But remember and be told, Zimbabwe is not Zambia.

  11. This man ……sure? How can u do such a thing to your neighbor? You have caused un reparable harm. This is a diplomatic injury you have created between Zambia and Zimbabwe. I thought you were a diplomat in Canada? What kind of diplomacy is this? We are not sirprised your govt recalled you.

    5
    12
    • Hey this wasnt a diplomatic assignment. Mumba was not being sent by Zambia but by SADC. You wanted him to ignore SADC and look after Zimbabwe-Zambia relations? What kind of observer would that be? Going to endorse Zambia’s relationship with Zim? What kind of understanding do you have of politics?

  12. Ati the “Russians and Chinese are more rac1st than the West” Ushe which history books is this man reading? To compare, you first need to add up all the things your masters have done and are still doing. Your generation, Mr Mumba are equally responsible for the damage you have done to our youths and thankfully these next generation kids have information readily available at their finger tips. You can’t hide anymore, the wind of change will catch up with whoever sides with the wrong people.

AREN’T THESE THINGS HAPPENING IN ZAMBIA? DON’T BURY YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT AN APPOINTMENT.

    • …….

Then you should be wishing and be supportive of SADCs electrol motoring………

Seeing that the will high light any malpractices in zambia, no ?????

      2
    • So if they are happening in Zambia he should ignore them when he is an observer in Zimbabwe?? What kind of reasoning goes on in Zambians heads?

      4
      3
    • Zambia is a beacon of peace and democracy. It is an example of good governance required in Africa.Mumba’s report is credible in the eyes of those that support democracy and good governance not only because it is technically sound but also because he is a Zambian.African countries must learn from Zambia and not Zambia learning bad manners of Mnangagwa.Dont forget that Mnangagwa first came to power through a military coup…..And DejaFooool ,please always remember to wash your dirty underpants before coming to comment

      6
      1
    • Yes All Africans (especially in SADC) need to learn from Zambia, the only country that removes ruling parties. And peacefully. Some of you have had one ruling party since independence. You are too scared to remove them and you think you can come to teach Mumba how to do a free and fair election?

  14. ”There will be chaos if UNIP loses election” said Nevers Mumba in 1991. He went on to say God told him this. He held a press conference in the absence of Mwanawasa inviting musicians as delegates. “Our organization was not a political party but a pressure group” said Nevers Mumba when he formed Christian Citizen group. ” I cannot accept any political appointment. This will be a demotion to me as a clergy.” He went on to accept vice presidency of MMD from Levy Mwanawasa. This is the Nevers Mumba we know.He is tossed like a wave. No stability!!

    9
    3
    • The appointment saved him from a seizure by bailiffs for the money he owed some commercial bank.
But in Zambia if he supports your party then he’s a good person.

  15. The West, double h and the pastor mumba’s plan was so uncomplex for a grade 2 boy or girl you sat down for 20 minutes to explain the Southern rhodesia to Zimbabwe story now. Comrade Mugabe would be spiting on Nevers Mumba had their plan succeeded. But now it’s victory Zimbabwe and that’s the way thing ought to be. Long live Zimbabwe. Indeed this Nevers is so unclean democratically remembering what he did to Kachingwe. He has held on to dying MMD like a tick watching it go down. The sham report on Zimbabwean election is disgraceful, unafrican and so western niggaz.

    • …… ..

Yes , indeed to victory for dictators in Africa………..

Let’s see where that will take you.

In 10 years time , reflect again amogest the suffering Africans hard oressed by dictatorial regimes.

    • The West don’t want democracy in Africa. What they want are people they can use. Just look at some countries which are run by dictators but are never censured by West…. like Gabon etc.

      4
      1
    • Comment on the issue of election NOT on Dr. Mumba. You missed the point mate. Mugabe lost to the opposition and decided to unleash violent cadres. And the story goes on in Zimbabwe

  16. #Spaka, the Gabon elections monitors were not allowed and all communication was cut off but France and it’s cohorts accepted the outcome. Doesn’t that tell you something?

    3
    1
    • There was a coup in Gabon soon after the election results declared bongo the winner……….

No one objected to his overthrow…….because everyone knows the elections were a sham.

  18. NEVERS HAS A DENTED PAST WHICH HAS SHOWN THAT HE HAS NO INTERGRITY. USING OBSERVER MISSION TO CLEAN HIS PAST WILL NOT WORK. HE HAS JUST NOW DENTED HIMSELF GLOBALLY

  19. Zimbabwe now is full of tinpot dictators in the form of citizens that want to threaten and crush every opposing view. That will be its doom because all citizens have fled for South Africa as they are now exporting waiters to their neighbour. ZANU-PF has no plans cos all thinkers have fled and the remaining ones are always crushed by dictators. Zimbabwe will be Eritrea

  20. Who planned the thought to hire a political assassin – Mumba – as Head of SADC Observer Mission in Zimbabwe? Yet we have more respectable former Zambian Vice Presidents such as General Miyanda & Hon Kavindele, or even Diplomat VJ Mwaanga who understand the geo-political climate in Southern Africa. Mumba has killed UPND in the vein that he killed his Church, his political party and killed MMD. The integrity of UPND has been assassinated and destroyed beyond redemption by an economic pest.

  21. When you are sent on an assignment please read the brief very carefully. Nervous please distinguish between ‘Election Monitor’ and ‘Election Observer’ …besides if you did such a sterling job why go on ZNBC to try and defend your actions?

  22. Ba Upnd beware…ukupela icipuna uwamatako aya kulu. You will wake up one day only to find Mumba has taken over your party.

  23. Ati Zimbabwe needs free and fair elections coming from the same cr0oks who struggled the country with sanctions. The same people who don’t practice free and fair elections in their own backyard. Zambia is warming up to the winds of change sweeping Africa. Nigeria next and then Zambia. We shall dance in the streets anso!
