Bishop John Mambo said the Patriotic Front Government has an opportunity to be best government ever in Zambia if only they learn from the mistakes of the previous government.
Bishop Mambo told QFM that the PF should avoid being rigid in the running of the affairs of the country.
He said the mistakes that the MMD made should be a learning guide to the Michael Sata led government.
Bishop Mambo said the MMD’s downfall can partly be attributed to the sudden stubbornness of the former ruling party.
He explained that the then president Rupiah Banda allowed himself to be surrounded by wrong people who were mere job seekers.
The clergy added that it is the same people who ensured that corruption in the MMD became a way of life.
Bishop Mambo explained to QFM that the MMD stopped listening to the people labeling those who opposed certain pronouncements as opposition sympathizers.

which opportunity???? 90 days expires in a few days!!!
were you thick enough to believe that
I don`t always agree with this man but he is right here!
Keep counting down the 90 days, PF has a 5 year mandate to be in Govt.
Michael Sata was in UNIP did he listen to anybody, he was in MMD in various cabinet potofolios did he ever listen to anybody, even now does he listens.People are crying against his bembas only appointments is he listening.Mambo you are a man of God pray for him and rebuke his demons of tribalism, maybe just mebbe.
You think anybody can undo the rot the MMD left for 20 years within 90 days? Be real! There is so much trash just surfacing now. We are still cleaning up.
ooooh my God….were these not the vuvuzela’s in RB’s government?…seriously these guys mean business……njala yabanyokola….
Sata is here for the next 5 years and if you think the mess left by RB and his kapasos is going to take 90days to be sorted out then check your brains .I love this president who was chosen by God if you cant believe he is ruling us for the next 5 years then i feel sorry fro you because frustration will kill you.
Bishop Mambo yours are the words of a wise man , let us take them on board for the seek of our nation, may the good Lord always bless you
I agree with the Bishop in that the PF gvt has inherited a better economy and just need to continue on the path the MMD left of course learning and correcting the mistakes objectively. They have inherited. 1.A good foreign reserve to the tune of US$ 2.7bn.2. Single digit inflation @ 8.1%. 3. Unprecedednt infrastructure development(some of which the president is naming single handedly) . 4 high investment in the mines with production going up.5 A stable foregn exchange. Good agriculture policy(FISP) with bumper harvest .7 Road rehabilitation etc. So all the PF need to do is harness this and humbly accept that despite some short comings in the previous gvt, they really scored and so we need to move on. Let us not U turn on anything initiated by MMD just for the sake of it.
#1 Gagande…….but who says we are voting after the 90 days expires. You are very dull
90 days, my foot. You folks, God gave you brains to use, not to redicule yourselves. Why are fixated on 90 days? Ni ma Jelous because you lost or what? Where did you see a country develop in 90 days? Even you, probably you do not even have a mud hut when you are almost 70 years. Think, Think please, don’t bring tribal jelousies and hatred driven thoughts to the home of the intelligensia, you will be embarassed.
Reading and appreciating the Bishops words. Pray for your families salvation believers, and work as though you were working for Jesus.
Gagande, JFK and poacher, it is time to accepted that Sata is here for the next 5 years. You are living in the past where you just want a Tonga to be president. Who would vote for a ngombe ilede or mabisi anyway? For your information, Sata is not obliged to appoint people that he did not work with, you think he can appoint you when you insult him day and night? Your HH WILL NEVER, NEVER EVER RULE ZAMBIA period…..
#2 Italian Bunga Bunga (Original),
Mate, honestly i have respect for this man
this is the man (together with Bishop Mususu of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia) that stood against Chiluba’s Third Term and the MMD injustices. Its not only our Zambian Catholics Bishops (through THE Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC)!
Just re – learn to agree with this man. Don’t forget he is a Zambian like you!
The 90 days referred to were not invented by bloggers here. Sata has been talking about 90 days since 2006 elections. Indeed even at his inauguration, he continued the rubb!sh talk about developing Z within 90 days. It looks like you kaponyas have hot airs between your ears and do not understand what Sata has been saying all along. Are you saying you allowed yourself to be wilfully lied to by Sata knowing fully well that he was incapable of what he said? If so, that’s OK. You can continue to be jobless, with no money in your pocket, no new houses in your compounds, blocked drains and using pabwato on your roads during the rain seasons – for the next 5 years. It actually makes no difference for non-PFooters because Sata’s non-performance was expected – ALL TALK, NO DELIVERY.
What type of smoke has Bishop Mambo been sharing with Sata? PF has no chance of being the best govt ever. In fact, they are on track to being the worst govt ever. Already Sata is defending street vending. He sees no problem with that. Oh, dear! So what happened to job creation to reduce unemployment? Shall our streets continue to be dirty in the name of popularity for PF? This is a govt with no new ideas. At least Sata can recruit some kaponyas to polish his seven guns; that could be a start in his job creation circus.
That is my Bishop always objective and never wavering in every regime. Keep it up and may the good Lord continue to bless you.
i think its time we geniune and impartial bloggers start ignoring tribal bloggers who have a bone to chew with sata. stop replying to their tribal postings. why can’t we all accept the fact that we will be ruled by sata for the next five years. lets just help build a better zambia that we can all leave in. i will be back!
There is some logic in what this man is saying. But politicians being what they are they will soon be carried away and start being misled by their insatiable appetite for power and will then start doing exactly the wrong things thinking that five years is a long time. look at the way Dora was behaving. like a prostitute, literally. Flogging her bums and boobs for all to image her in bed, all for power.
