The political landscape in Zambia continues to be marked by dramatic twists and turns as former Lusaka Mayor, Miles Sampa, issued a direct challenge to former President Edgar Lungu, urging him to reconsider his “Alebwelelapo” project.
Sampa’s provocative question, “What are you going to do that you didn’t do in seven years?” has added another layer of complexity to the ongoing political saga.

In response earlier in the week the Patriotic Front (PF) in Matero Constituency and the 5 PF councillors in the area petitioned the Central Committee to expel Matero member of Parliament Miles Sampa from the party.
Speaking at the PF Secretariat on Wednesday some of the speakers denounced the Matero law maker as being a non entity in politics.The function was also attended by former PF General secretary Davis Mwila and newly appointed PF (GS) Raphael Nakachinda members of the central committee and party structures.
The UPND has challenged PF to expel Miles Sampa to facilitate a by elections. However, under the new constitution, an expelled MP becomes independent MP without the need for the costly by elections. Unless he is convicted, all MPs are entitled to a full term or until the next general elections.

Article 72 (2) (e) of the constitution as amended in 2016 clearly says an MP loses his seat when he is expelled from the party that sponsored him.
What is this nonsense about them becoming independent members of parliament?
At this point, I do think Miles Sampa may not be all there in his head. He is causing so much damage to his own political party.
The annoying thing is that the PF party have shown a weakness that is unbelievable! The man commits a crime and disparages leadership and they fail to expel him. Even worms are stronger than that, I should know, I had some for breakfast.

As for Miles Sampa, sometimes he behaves like a call boy. Remember the time him and Mulenga Sata ditched PF for Upnd. It didn’t take him long for him crawl back to PF with his goat tail between his two bumps and settled for mayorship.

Or is Sampa scared stiff of Lungu? For PF the longer you dont hold your party elections the more you damage your chances of returning to power. For other opposition parties here is a chance to jump into the vacancy PF is leaving as Main opposition and challenge the clearly failing UPND
