Hichilema : One -String Guitar

Share

It’s very difficult to conceive of a multiparty political dispensation where only one political party and its leaders are allowed to have rallies, meetings, press briefings, and visits of its structures at will and without hindrance.

Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his party, the UPND, are today enjoying unfettered exercise of their freedoms of assembly, association, expression, and speech at the exclusion of the opposition and all others.

The public order Act and other related laws don’t seem to apply to them at all.
And on everything else, Mr Hichilema is a shameless blame shifter.

Seeking to exercise our constitutionally guaranteed fundamental human rights is not the pursuit of politics of confrontation or insolence.

We know very well that when they were in opposition, they were partially denied these rights. But it shouldn’t be a matter of revenge. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth will leave them blind and snaggletoothed.

If they’re mature politicians, they’ve got to break the cycle of abuses and mistreatment of political opponents.
Without a doubt, Mr Hichilema and the UPND endured a lot of injustice, and the nation aligned in sympathy for them, but they have squandered that goodwill. They have messed this up!

Mr Hichilema seems to be a one-string guitar. The only tool he has is a hammer, and he doesn’t seem to understand the need for tolerance, self- limitation, and modesty. Anything he sees in front of him, no matter how small or insignificant, he has to pound it down with full force.

But this approach is very destructive and dangerous. This he must be mindful of and not be excited with power recklessly.

We have repeatedly warned that this country will not be a good place for any of us to live in if it’s not a good place for all of us to live in.

When fundamental rights and freedoms are denied, they are always fought for. This is the reality Mr Hichilema and his corrupt puppet regime must be ready for!

We shall fearlessly defend our liberties, human dignity, and rights.
We will not allow Mr Hichilema to use power and privilege to constrain our efforts and existence in this country to maintain the status quo.

President of the Socialist Party

  1. All anyone needs to know about this suspected homosexual, Fred Mm’embe, is that he hates Tonga men; if you know this about him, you do not need to know anything else. If you do not know this about him, everything about him will confuse you.

  2. What?? M’membe is preaching the language of “free market ideology”? Dictatorship of the proletariat under socialist ideology does not consider the rights and freedoms of citizens!

    • @Geek: Hakainde is a simple Tonga boy. I would not be surprised if he was a virgin when he met his lovely wife. He and I went to UNZA at the same time, but I do not remember him. My close friends say they remember the guy. There is no doubt that he and I would have talked to each other many times, but that was 35 to 40 years ago. I can tell you that Hakainde has probably lived a boring life. Go to work; go home to his family; go to Church on Saturday. The pedophile you have to worry about finding in Epstein’s journals is Edgar “Johnathan Mutawire” Lungu. This buffoon likes little female children. He took or married an 11 or 12 year old Swazi virgin and brought her to Lusaka, where he has been repeatedly hammering her with his little tool, probably giving her his HIV

    • LOL Hakainde is a simple Tonga boy?? Ok that explains the infatuation with white gloves! And European tie and jacket suits even on a sunday.

    • That is why some of you are lost, failed and going nowhere. You think that everyone should be trying to be white. The reason why Hakainde wears clothes is because he bought them with honestly hard-earned money. I am not sure if you think that being a Tonga boy means wearing no clothes. White people entered Zambia from the South. The first Zambians they encountered were the Tonga, due to geographical realities. It stands to reason that the Tonga would have been the first people to wear European clothes. By your puerile logic, it would stand to reason, to ask you why you now think you are more entitled to wear the clothes that Tonga boys who forefathers wore them before yours. To be sure, we Tonga do not care about what you wear

  4. He who shouts the loudest about dictator-ship is in fact a dic-ta-tor himself. We warned you about 2H and his obsession for control.

Fred Mmembe you created Hakainde Hichilema by fighting the affable Rupiah Bwezani Banda and easy going Edgar Lungu.
I can assure you if HH finds that he might lose 2026, he will instruct the ECZ to disqualify all potential challengers from standing. And USA will prop him.

  7. Kalumbu the one string guitar is very sophisticated Fred wouldnt play it. It is most of the time accompanied by a choir so it isn’t as solo as you’re making it to be. Gary Nkombo, Doug Syakalima, Mweetwa even the first lady are all in the backing choir

  8. PF allowed china to reap off Zambia, Mmembe and his defunct post new paper did not even notice it. Pf acquired Chinese loans to build roads and bridges and gave contacts to china for work. The Chinese were paid with thier own loans and took back their money to china. While Zambia was left repay the full loans with interest. So china is paid twice for their loans and you are in bed with pf criticize HH to be a stooge for china to continue reaping Zambia?

  9. Luskatimes you may have changed the look of your website, (it is a bit more appealing), but the level of journalism still leaves a lot to be desire. Take this article for example, it is usual dose of insipid nonsense, rubbish, hatred and vitriol devoid of facts by M’membe.
Why or why do you keep having these pathetic articles from people like him?
As a readership, I think we deserve better.
Ah well, I will just have to look elsewhere the articles that are factual.

  10. The problem here is not Mmembe but us Zambians who actually forget easily that this chap was running his post newspaper without a single strategy at all until it was closed by pf party, he helped to bring into power by using his own newspaper. Check all his postings he has not provided an alternative solution to the UPND completely zero, if you failed in grade 7 (The post newspaper failed under Mmembe) how possible you will pass at the university (Mmembe running a country Zambia what a foolish think) unless you want to die like flies sprayed by doom then go on to entertain this chap.
