PF loses Chasefu Electoral petition

Share

Ruling Patriotic Front-PF bid to brighten its prospects in Parliament has suffered a minor setback following the loss of Chasefu election petition.

PF Parliamentary Candidate in last year’s polls, Boniface Paul Botha failed to convince Lusaka High Court, Judge Nigel Muntuna that the election was marred with electoral malpractice.

Ironically, Mr Botha has lost the petition with cost. Judge Mutuna ruled that all allegations leveled against Mr. Banda have not been proved by the evidence before the court.

  1. This will encourage Mmembe to call for all the judges to be replaced by his friends or is it minions to use his terminology.

  2. PF is wasting resources on useless election petitions. They need to show us what they are going to do that is different than previous governments. Is there anyone intelligent in PF? Please show us something to be hopeful about!!!

  3. WHO WAS HIS LAWYER? WAS IT GEORGE KUNDA OR WINTER KABIMBA? THIS IS A GOOD SIGN TO ALL WHO QUESTION THE GOVERNMENTS LOYALTY TO ITS FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION. IF THE PETITION WAS TO BE MADE BY THE MMD DURING ITS POWER, THE CASE WOULD HAVE FINISHED IN ITS FAVOR BECAUSE THE JUDICIALLY WAS HIJACKED BY RB’S GOVERNMENT. CONGRATULATIONS PF!

  4. I thought the normal thing was to congratulate winners and console the losers? It seems in the “new dispensation” we congratulate losers and condemn the winners?

  5. # Nachula,Hey what congrats to PF ? For loosing with cost? You kaponyas you can follow blindly. I did not know Bembas can be this dull. You congratulate the winner and then it’s commiserations to the losers .

    • You have just proved you are not Bemba, where did you steal the Mubanga name? Nachula is right to honour PF for respecting DEMORACY and not dictatorship where everything is ruled in favour of the ruling Party!

  6. At least now you are guaranteed of a Free and Fair trial under chi Ale Bee this was unheard of, as the saying goes; you win some and lose some!!!

  7. This is what we need, if the courts of law ascetain that there was no evidence to prove otherwise, decide as such period! Had it gone the other way people would have said the PF governement is being favoured. Let us learn to give credit where it is due and rally behind the court when jusitice has been done. Its about time! Bavo Judge Mutuna!

  8. It’s not necessarily that the courts are working! It is just difficult to reach any other verdict because it is clear (judging from the other two cases including that of Patrick Mwanawasa) that these disgruntled losers are trying to use the courts to force their way into Parliament because PF is in power. No other reason…

  9. God’s Will to protect the welfare of the Zambian people is sowly beginning to manifest itself in a suble way. Congrats to Mr. Banda – the genuine MP for Chasefu. Hence the people of Msanzala must take a lesson from the people of Chasefu. Unprincipled political mercenaries who abandon their own people to work for the development of “Muchinga Province and Mpika” in particular, must be cast into oblivion. God Hear Our Prayers.

  10. Congrats to PF for not presuring the judge to judge in favor of PF. I guess that’s if the judge was not bribed by the other guy.

  11. My goodness, you mean the courts didn’t believe the line about magic jumping ink? I thought every seat won by another party was stolen.

  12. #7 AND ALL THOSE THINKING AM BEMBA. JUST A POINT OF CORRECTION! AM A MAMBWE PRETTY YOUNG LADY! I AGAIN STATE, CONGRATS PF FOR LETTING FREE THE JUDICIALLY.
