4. The Govt needs to construct drainage systems to curb these floods. Pics 3 – 9. Good to see the future of Zambia is cared for but more can be done to ensure poverty is no more. We have a small population. Africa must wake up!!!!!

6. PF, PF, Instead of fighting people start working, look at the deplorable state of the country, no drainages no roads, no medicines, the list is endless. All we hear of is commisions of inquiry. You promised change in 90 days, now you claim that you were misquoted! What a waste of five years to come!!

7. #6 NO GOVERNMENT CAN ACHIEVEANY MEANINGFUL DEVELOPMENT IN THE ABUNDANCE OF CORRUPTION. SO, CORRUPTION SHOULD BE ELIMINATED ALMOST COMPLETELY. BUT THEN I AGREE WITH YOU- CORRUPTION SHOULD BE FOUGHT SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH DEVELOPMENT. BUT SO FAR THEY ARE DOING A GREAT JOB ON CORRUPTION. UNLESS, ONE ENJOYED OR ARE STILL ENJOY THE CORRUPT MONEY. THOSE ARE THE ONES COMPLAINING. ZAMBIA SHOULD SET AN EXAMPLE FOR OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES. FIGHT ON PF.

8. @ 4 The issue of poor drainage cannot be attributed to the gorvernment only but also to the Civil Engineers and Town Planners of our beloved country. It should a requirement that before a township is established, proper engineering services are prepared and designed according to the Council requirements. The designs should detail the source and availability of water, where waste water will be discharged and capacity of the wastewater treatment to accept the flow that will be generated from the township, drainage system and stormwater attenuation ponds. if this can be adopted we’ll be able to avert disasters.

12. Ah, ba Lucy Kasanga! She was my Sunday School teacher. Ever so joyful and patient this lady, as she instructed as in the ways of God. I’m so inspired to see her endurance in the mighty deeds of child care. May the Lord continue to bless her.

    Those floods are serious! Where are the Council funds and the Civil Engineers when they are needed? I don’t think a proper drainage system would cost a fortune to implement.

17. # Nine Chale Indeed where are the civil engineers? We have so many learned people in zed who do jack. Why do we have to rely on the govt all the time and yet there are capable people who can do so much for the community. Look at humble wealthy people like Bill Gates always doing something for the less privaledged without expecting a reward. Can’t these comminities mobilize to do something about their roads without having to wati for someone else to do it for them? Bena RB all tfhe money you lot creamed off, you will reap your reward in hell fire

19. I agree that everything possible must be done about drainage system but let us not forget that when mother nature unleashes her wrath she is impossible to stop. We have seen it here in the UK and elsewhere around the world how floods have devastated neighbourhoods with or without drainage systems. These are times of the end!

21. You fail to plan you plan to fail. Councils in Zambia fail to plan. Selling things and throwing rubbish in drainage is the result of these floods. 

22. OOOOOH MY GOD! ALL THAT IS LOST WATER RESOURCE. PROPER DRAINAGE CAN CHANNEL IT INTO RESERVIOURS FOR MUCH USAGE. IN THIS GOVERNMENT ALL ROADS SIGNED FOR CONSTRUCTION MUST SERIOUSLY INCLUDE AN UNDER GROUND DRANAGE ALONGSIDE IT. THIS WILL CREATE SOMETHING SUCH AS NATIONAL DRAINAGE GRID WHERE EVEN RIVERS ARE TOPPED UP BY THIS SAME WATER DURING THE DRY SEASONS.

26. i just hope the first lady did not donate anything on that visit, because the future can misinterprate her goodwill.

27. What a country! A president of an opposition party is defending a presidential aspirant of an another opposition party as his lawyer. At the end of the  day, Sinkota will know more about his opponents weaknesses because they are confiding into him. No wonder the opposition is useless, no principles!
