Power Dynamos announced their return to Caf club cup competition after a nine-year absence with a bang.
The Arthur Davies side beat Japan Actuel of Madagascar 5-1 away on Sunday afternoon in the two sides Caf Champions League preliminary round, first leg match in Antananarivo.
Midfielder Mukuka Mulenga scored a brace in starting in the 15th minute that gave Power a 1-0 halftime lead.
Mulenga completed his brace on the hours mark after finishing off a Kennedy Mudenda cross before Simon Bwalya made it 3-0 five minutes later.
55th minute substitute Nyaende who had replaced ineffective new boy Graven Chitalu added Power’s fourth in the 70ths minute.
Mario Baraki got Actuel’s only goal of the game a minute later but Nyaende made sure of Power’s emphatic away victory two minutes from fulltime to take comfortable lead into the return leg match on march 3 in Kitwe.
The result puts Power on course for a first round meeting against four-time African champions TP Mazembe in a first leg match on March 24 in Kitwe.
The DR Congo giants are on a preliminary round bye.

Great result
Kitwe has always produced great teams like Power and Nkana and great players like Jacob Mulnga, Rainford Kalaba, and Stopila Sunzu from Afrisports and in the past Godfrey Chitalu, Moses Simwala, Brighton Sinyangwe, etc, who have brought glory to this country. Strangely., when it comes to sports infrastructure, the government never even thinks of Kitwe. Other than small Arthur Davies Stadium, the city has no international stadium or any other sports infrastructure to write home about. Nkana Stadium (Ichilata) is a sorry sight and Kitwe Playing Fields has seen better days. Cry my beloved city!!
Well done power dynamos.Zambian football is back where it belongs. But Zambia vs Power dynamos will be something else.Good luck power.Knock out TP Mazembe!GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.
