Hanif Rules Himself Out of FAZ Elections

Share

Hanif Adams will not contest for any top position at next month’s elective FAZ annual general meeting.

The Lusaka Dynamos boss was expected file in his papers this week to challenge incumbent Boniface Mwamelo for the Faz vice presidency but that will not happen anymore leaving Henschel Chitembeya as the latter’s major challenger.

“I have decided not to stand to concentrate my time and energies on Lusaka Dynamos,” Adams said.

Dynamos have been in continued freefall since 2010 and have slumped in Faz Division 2 South following their demotion from Division 1 north last year just 12 months after their relegation from the Super Division.

Adams has decided to return to the helm of Dynamos this season after failing to find a buyer or partner for his 30 year old project.

Meanwhile, Faz has extended the nominations deadline from February 29 to March 4 due to the slow rate at which candidates are filing in their paperwork at Football House.

And there has been a swell of candidates wishing to stand as Faz executive committee members.

Violet Bwalya, Ziya shonga, Hayden Dingwall, Happie Happie Munkondya have joined Keith Mwewa and Alex Mambwe to challenge incumbents Marcha Chilemena, Lenny Nkhuwa, Keagan Chipango, Elijah “Shenko” Chileshe and James Mpooma.

Rix Mweemba is challenging incumbent Kelvin Mutafu for the treasurer position.

  1. Andrew kamanga for Presidency and Simata Simata Simata for Vice presidency go boys dont be cowards, take them on like the way our beloved president took on MMD

  2. That fat motor mouth ignorant party cadre at the sports ministry scared them off, your corrupt Great Kalu & team will chew all the AFCON prize money as there won’t be any accountability and transparency again. He won’t even be bothered to sale us his action plan for FAZ and for his next term.
Another term to plunder with impunity!!

  3. Simata simata and kamanga must be the most ashamed and disappointed people in zambia by now if we talk about football and faz in zambia. what a shame.

  4. It’s laughable for Kamanga and Simataa not to contest the elections, after trying so hard to unseat Kalu through uncostitutional means. The dual even travelled to Zurich to protest to fifa. If you have nothing to offer in Zambian football just keep your big mouths shut for good. Kamanga and Simataa are a disgrace to to the nation. You made so much noise in the press, as if you are interlectuals in football and yet you are just jealous of Kalu. You even brought up a pararell football association to run Zambian football. Elections are here now,why should you not file your nomination papers, if you are better than Kalu? Foolish noise makers seeking national attention. Leave football to experts like Kalu and team.

  5. #8 & 9 You should bear on mind that what makes someone strong are the challengez they face and how they deal with them. Yes Kamanga and Simataa may not have uzed the best of methodz to try and unseat the Kalu team but rest assured that they meant well. Despite wining the AFCON ( and they dezerve heartfelt congrats and praize), the current FAZ executive stil remainz scandalous and shambolic to say the least and we just have to put up with then. Living a life of hero-worshiping and not offering meaningful challenge for fear of being called namez will not take us nowhere!

    • You must be related to the former President for you to stuillbelieve that the ceurrent FAZ executive has not been performing. Who doesnt know that former President RB was trying to unsettle Kalusha by ushering his nephew Andrew Kamanga? Do you still don’t know why Simata was expelled from PF when the latter used to go to state house to reviiiiew PF’s STRATEGY under the pretext of discussing football?

  6. KAMANGA AND SIMATA SIMATA HAVE GONE UNDER BECOZ KALUS WINNING OF THE AFCON IS A HUGE CHALLENGE TO THEM. CAN THEY PUT UP SUCH A FIGHT IF GIVEN THE MANTLE? I AM ONE OF THOSE WHO OPPOSED RECALLING OF THE CURRENT COACH BUT I CAN OPENLY SAY I WAS WRONG. THE GUY IS A GOOD COACH AND I RESPECT KALU FOR THIS. ZAMBIAS PERFORAMNACE WAS TOO GOOD TO IGNORE THE INPUT OF THE COACH AND GOOD ADMN BY KALU. BEATING BIG GUYS SUCH AS GHANA, IVC,SENEGAL WAS NOT A JOKE

  7. I had aslo wanted Kalu but what can you say, he has won the AFCON. The bar set is too high. Kamanga and Simata should think of something else. Go Kalu Go Kalu

  8. viva kalu indeed, but with some opposition in the executive checks and balances will be enhanced, simaata go for treasurer and work constructively this time while shuting up,its hot in opposition ask MMD.
