Share

TP Mazembe have arrived in Zambia with seven Zambian players in their 20-man squad to face Power Dynamos on Saturday in a Caf Champions League first round, first leg clash in Kitwe.

Heading the bill will be midfielder Rainford Kalaba who will be leading four other 2012 Africa Cup winners on the trip.

Defenders Stopilla Sunzu, Francis Kasonde and Hichani Himoonde plus midfielder Nathan Sinkala are all part of the entourage.

Also in the team is striker Luka Lungu who is expected to face Power for the first time since leaving the 2011 Faz Super Division champions in December to join Mazembe.

Striker Given Singuluma too is in the team for the match to be played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

  1. Typical Zambian trait, to contribute to other countries’ development than our own. Zambia’s next biggest export apart from Copper, could be Manpower.

  2. # 3 i wonder if you say the same about the South American countries, European countries and the many African countries that export players to play in different leagues around the world. Thats the nature of soccer my friend, you need exposure to become better. Typical Zambian always condemning everything others do. so tell us “Mr know it all” what would be better, to keep all Zambian players in Zambia or to export more for the exposure? Soccer is not like Medicine my dear, i smell politics coming into the conversation.

  3. TP mazembe will be wired, how do they want to feature players like Kalaba who failed a decisive penalty in AFCON 2012 and you call yourself a professional, anyway they are playing in the diaspora of DRC thats why zambian players never impressed any scouts at AFCON with such a bunch of un educated fools who can’t even express themselves in English,, check Sunzu interview on youtube OH MY FOOT

    • Ba Patambala! Have you heard interviews of other players in Europe? Others just speak Spanish because they can’t speak English. Have you heard the great Pele speak? English is our second language bwana, and in any case Sunzu doesn’t need English to play soccer. If he can play well, it means his coach is able to communicate to him and vice versa.

    • I did not know we had dull pipo in Zed like you sir. Wat is the lanquage got to do with soccer? And missing a pernalty doesnt make one unprofesional. great players have missed pernalties before.Roberto bagio, Drogba, messi,Ronoldo, kalusha bwalya etc. Malabishi..

  4. Patambala speaking English is nothing my friend.even in premier league and laliga their are players who doest no how to speak English.in south africa, botswana etc they are proud of their languages now ma Zambian like you fool like ukuibonesha.get a life

  5. I am getting very worried at the levels of bitterness and insults in the hearts of many Zambians. Surely what is there to insult about over this article? A rich african team has managed to employ our players and have come to play in Zed. The best is to go to Kitwe and get entertained. It does not matter what language the players speak. They are not speakers like Oprah but footballers. This kind of attitude of none patriotism is the soul reason for or poverty always pulling others down.

  6. @ Patambala, missing a penalty does not make you any less a proffessional, if you had any football knowledge you would understand the fact that missing a penalty is part of the beautiful game. The best footballer the world has ever seen (arguably) Lionel Messi has missed two penalties this season, does that make him any less the world footballer of the year for three years running? you need to get out of your mental quagmire of always thinking that speaking English makes one intelligent. Sunzu is very intelligent especially at what he does, thats why he has reached the highest pinnacle of both club and international football by winning the CAF champions league gold medal and Africa Cup of Nations gold medal. He earns mo than u do (safely) and pushes a Mercedes Benz S500. Whoz foolish now?

  7. Not all Zambians in the Tout Puissant (All Powerful) TP Mazembe play….this team has classy players like TRESOR MPUTU MABI (he should be in Europe but for Katumbi), Kaluyikuta and many others. So Power just needs to believe in themselves and not think they will be playing their friends because this is to their own peril.
It is POWER against the ALL POWERFUL (Tout Puissant) but they are not omnipotent so they are beatable.

  8. When did Sinkala sign a contract with Mazembe? And for how much? The boy needs an agent really. With his talent he could be somewhere in Europe.

  9. I just wonder why you people are insulting and castigating each other on this matter. Put yo brains to good use on this matter. Do not express yo disappointments somewhere on this forum. Someone has the guts to say Kalaba missed a penalty. Did u c that Drogba missed too.Just give yo support to the team. The number of Zambian players in TP M makes it easy for one to accept the outcome if it favors them. Its like its Zambian team stil.Go Power Go!

  10. Sometimes competition can be unfair. How do you compete with you own brother zambian players in TP Mazembe could have excused themselves from this match in all fairness, or let them relax during the match so that we clobber TP.

  11. Power 2 TP Mazembe 0
Power should field a very strong midfield comprising Thomas Nyirenda, Joseph Sitali, Sebastian Mwansa and Kennedy Mudenda. Upfront Mukuka Mulenga”DECO” and Graven Chitalu.Go Power Go!

  12. it is very sad to note that the cream of our national team is playing in DRC.Those boys should be playing in europe and not DRC.Even north africa or middleeast will be better.where are the soccer agents?

  13. #11 you sound like you know nothing about soccer.TP Mazembe is one of the top clubs in Africa.TP mazembe is even better than some teams in europe.

  14. It is Power Dynamos Vs Zambia National Team.Moise Katumbi has promised his team team huge bonuses if they beat Power which they will do.If it was Power 90 things would have been much better but Power 2000 or 2012 much to be desired.

  15. # 16 Chikondi. Nathan Sinkala signed a contract with TP Mazembe before the Zambia national Team went to Eq Guinea/ Gabon for the AFCoN Championship. he rushed but as usual our players do rush even signing for 4 clubs at once. we need advisers and proper agents for them.
