Christopher Katongo ended his early season three-game goal draught on Monday to help his Chinese club Henan Jianye to their first league win of the 2012 campaign.
The 2012 Africa Cup captain scored a brace for bottom placed Henan in their 2-1 away win over 7th place Guishou Renhe.
Katongo was on target in the 69th and 82nd minutes to inspire Henan who were down 1-0Â at halftime.
The striker played the full 90 minutes for Henan.
Still in China, there was no joy for James Chamanga at third from bottom Dalian Shide whose side last 5-0 away to 3rd placed Jiangsu Shuntian in a match the Zambia striker came on in the 46th minute.
And in Sudan, Jonas Sakuwaha scored one goal for second placed El Merreikh in their 3-2 home win over 4th positioned Khartoum 3 on Sunday.
Sakuwaha put El Merreikh in the lead with a header to score his 5th goal of the season from six matches played in the 2012 Sudan league campaign.

#1 Jay, Chris has already been in Europe with a German 2nd division side but his contract expired. Like all the others, I guess he’d rather be in Europe too but he’s forced to play in China because of the money. We can only hope his experience does not sell out.
As a matter of principle, Zambia should not let its players play for any time in SUDAN. Those guys are busy killing your fellow black people even after South Sudan separated without making too much noise over genocide committed over the decades by Sudan. I don’t know what it will take to make a black person be intelligent enough to realise the world does not love him!!! Stop smiling in your broad white teeth and kinky-hair and THINK baout your own welfare. If human races are vulanerable to imminent extinction, the black race will be the first to be extinct and one of the major reasons is its stupidity and failure to learn from a rich history of suffering at the hands of other races. WAKE UP! Those Sidanese Arabs are busy killing your own kind and you continue kissing their a.r.s.e.s!
I watched Chris katongo scoring a brace , the team Chris is playing is useless and he can learn nothing, i wish Kalusha or renard can come and watch these guys here in china, its a mess. They would rather play in Angola, SA or in zambia. Iam not sure about the money how much they are given but rumour has it its peanuts, SA guys are better.
I am from China. I am Katongo’s fans. He is our hero here. We love him not less than you. We are a small club and weak team, we need Katongo. something maybe you can’t imagine. there are nearly 20000 fans go to the stadium every match here, even from hundreds miles far away. millions of Henan fans watched the African cup final game in the midnight without sleep. They cheered for Katongo.after all , I want to say. Thanks Zambia. and don’t worry about Katongo. He will be better and better. we even want to see him and Zambia in the FIFA Cup next year !
Keep going stronger ba Chris. You are history in the making.
