National Assembly approves opening of Mufulira Constituency office

The National Assembly of Zambia has approved the  decision to open a constituency office in Mufulira Central Constituency on the Copperbelt.

And the decision to open the local  parliamentary constituency office has cheered both the civic authorities and parliamentarians in the district.

Mufulira Town Clerk (TC) Charles Mwandila, says the National Assembly had since written to his office over the matter.

Mr. Mwandila, told Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in an interview that the council has already secured an office building at Kamuchanga, township were the
office will be housed.

The Town Clerk said the opening of the constituency office in Mufulira Central was part of the on-going parliamentary reform programs.

Mr Mwandila said the introduction of the local parliamentary office was a milestone as it will bring the area MPs much closer to the electorates who will have access to information on issues of development.

And Kantanshi Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament (MP), Yamfwa Mukanga, has
also announced his decision to open up an office at Chawama, Hall under Kantanshi constituency.

Mr. Mukanga, said the office will be his own initiative and  will operate until the National Assembly opens its office in his constituency.
