Former United States President George Bush says it is important to fight cervical cancer and reduce its occurrence levels in the country.
Mr. Bush has told Journalists in Kabwe where he refurbished Ngungu Clinic that the Bush Foundation will support in fighting against HIV AIDS.
He says the foundation will also help Zambia fight breast and cervical cancer.
And Speaking earlier Cervical Cancer Prevention Programme of Zambia Representative Groesbeck Pharham says cancer has continued to be a number one killer of women in Zambia.
President Bush arrived in the country on Saturday to take part in cervical cancer sensitization programmes.
Over 81-thousand women have been screened for cervical cancer across the country.
Meanwhile, former US First Lady Laura Bush says quality education will help reduce poverty and illiteracy levels.
Mrs BUSH who visited Nkwame NKhuruma Teachers College encouraged trainee teachers to remain focused and help build a strong foundation for pupils.
Mrs. Bush also visited Lufuko community school in Kawama township where she witnessed the feeding programme and read to children from a story book written by her and daughter Jenna.
