Faz Says Some Pro’s To Miss S/Korea Friendly

Share

Faz says a good number of foreign based players may miss Zambia’s friendly against South Korea set for August 15 in Seoul.

Association Communications Officer Erick Mwanza expressed doubt over the availability of most members of the Africa Cup winning squad in the away friendly.

“Take note of the peculiarity of this date that a good number of the stars that went to the nations cup may not be available,” Mwanza said.

He stated that majority of the players likely to miss the Korea friendly are those from DR Congo giants TP Mazembe and the South African league.

“We may not have all the players from TP Mazembe, we may not have all the players from the PSL,” Mwanza added.

He however indicated that all Europe and China based players will be available for the game.

“But since we control our league we can suspend it to allow our players to move and play in Seoul. We will have the whole contigent from Europe and China.”

  1. Thank God we’re not playing Brazil! We beat South Korea 4-0 at Nkoloma in 2010 if am not mistaken. Its time we started playing high profile teams befitting our current status as African champions.

  2. This game is suppose to serve as a prep for Uganda game but I don’t seem to understand the reasoning at FAZ! Why are u scared of loosing kanshi?

  3. whic contingent from europe and china only 3 finished characters play in china and 3 also in europe u say contingent..hahahah..dont misuse words

  4. Akulu mphuno, you must be a student….a bored student in China, but we at Cabinet Office will catch!

  5. Why you remove my comment, just because I prayed for Chris Katongo not to show up so the team can be more jovial and no one bullying others?

  6. These FAZ guys are real stand up comedians…How many of our players are in Europe and China? Isn’t this an official  FIFA sanctioned friendly date? Still FAZ  not taking friendlies seriously, here is a South Korea team which is ranked 20 on the ranking table and they are sending a B team; don’t they know that it is a platform to market players, its no surprise that our star players play in DRC.

  7. hope kalu hasnt started his politics of trying to purge players who complained about k48m allowance, or be kalu doesnt want history to be rewritten hence trying to disturbilise the team so that these guys dont make a name for themselves and mother zambia.

  8. Its amazing how people just criticize without facts. For your information, FIFA friendly dates too have rules. The peculiar nature of 15 August is that clubs in Africa have no obligation to release their players while those in other associations do. This date is not like other FIFA dates where clubs worldwide have an obligation to release players. That’s why all countries, Zambia inclusive, with players in African clubs wont have their players released because the clubs wont have the obligation to release them.

  9. I think the journalism in this article is pathetic to say the least. How do you have a headline saying some pros will miss the friendly without even asking Erick Mwanza why? This is sensationalism journalism that brings confusion. If you had given the reasons then people would have been commenting objectively thereby avoiding comments such as made by yoyo, jay jay and tony blair.

  10. This is what you get to have lowly educated people heading very important positions in the country. Can we get our FIFA ranking get higher so that we can sell our players to the top league in the world? The these galus lost to Malawi and now we losing to Korea. Our ranking will dive. These foools at FAZ did not even see the anomally in Sudan. If they launched in the complaint within 48 hours according to Fifa rules, we would be top of the group to Brazil. But they were busy fuccking around as usual.

  11. With a jacked up secretariate and a well organized FA, rounding up of foreign based playerz for friendly gamez even outside the so called FIFA dates iz no big deal.

  12. # 12 spot on. What we have is a sleepy association with self interests. If it was not pressure from the funs to have Bonnetti out and change of gorvernment, we would not have won the afcon. Kalu would have been busy looking for cuts from the young players before he can include them in the squared.

  13. FAZ! FAZ!
Its good these friendlyz help build a future team but its like we have lost many friends we have played so with other countries and we have won a gud number of friendz we have played with clubs. Can you put things in order please because loosing to Malawi is embarrassing being champions.

Call for good senior team players and if the clubs refuse to allow then to come find best measures e.g to have a match friend or not.

  14. Zed man abroad

Please don’t blame the writer of the article even he/she couldn’t put gloss on this FAZ Statement as you can not put positive spin on sheer gross incompetence and disorganisation at Football House. Why fly all the way to Seoul a FIFA ranked 20 team if you can’t mobilise half your first team?
God only knows what loan shark customer Kalu and his clowns are doing to the funds in those accounts which belong to the future generations.

  15. #6 is right torwards the end of the Afcon, he bully Kalaba Mayuka to be passing the ball to him. It is like he was very obsessed with getting the golden boot. Als when Chris scorea one goal, he would have missed three clear chances. This shows inefficiency on him. Mayuka, Kalaba, Sunzu gets one chance at goal and it is a goal.

  16. Can’t FAZ be commended for once? Some bloggers need to understand that games don’t  fall from heaven. Someone has  to organise and bargain for them. Give some praise to that someone.
