The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RATSA) Board has been dissolved with immediate effect.
Transport, works, supply and communications Minister Chris Yaluma has announced the dissolution of the Kaitano Chungu led board in a statement released to QFM News.
Mr Yaluma has since thanked the dissolved board for their contribution towards the successful operations of the Road Transport and Safety Agency during the period they served on the board.
He says the board’s contribution towards national development in the area of road safety is appreciated and wished the former board members well in their future endeavours.
Mr Yaluma says he will soon announce the new board once the appointment procedures are completed.
Last week the RATSA board announced the termination of the contracts for RATSA Director Fredrick Mwalusaka and deputy director in charge of Transport, Robert Mtonga.

Who is being lined up now, a Kaseba?

Yah GUYZ lets work now we are very let.Its time to work now we are one year down form five so lets work if we want 2016 viva PF.
but zoona balatulyamo sana ba RATSA…good move;we need change and people in positions who can act in the interest of the masses.PF ensure the appointed candidates are corrupt free with this your so called slogan of corruption fight. we need our zambia back.
PF government should not dissolve the operating boards one at a time.
They should just issue their now infamous ways of circumventing Parliament by issuing a Statutory Instrument saying all the Boards that were previously constituted by the previous Government are now null and void rather than taking over these positions in piece meal.
No one is going to put in their maximum effort when they can see the PF Cog Mill grinding their way.
Mr. Yaluma go down to RATSA offices and see how people lose money through cone men who connive with some of the RATSA officials to bring about unnecessary demands or hard situations so that the clients becomes desperate and end up paying through the nose to the cone man. This situation has been there and it is a known factor.
I am so amused about the move that PF government is taking so far. It makes sure it touches all areas of public activities. Once it is satisfied with all the necessary changes, then only it will now start working flat out and people out there, even those who oppose unnecessarily, will say yes, this is what we need as a country. Bravo PF!
Now, in your future appointments, kindly remember to include former Munali member of Parliament Madam Mumbi Phiri. A hard working lady. Very courageous and very intelligent young lady! Many of those who saw how she delivered her services would agree with me, unless those who criticise as usual. Otherwise, I give credit where it is due. PF, you are on the right course and God bless our mother Zambia.

# 6 Nyambe-nyambe, Yes Mumbi Phiri must be remembered & awarded accordingly. She is a hard working lady.
and most important of all she comes from the right part of the country.

I have no problem with these disolutions as long as they are not meant to create jobs for Bembas and Sata’s relatives.
BA YALUMA WHICH ROAD SAFETY? THERE’S NO ROAD SAFETY IN ZAMBIA. PEOPLE DIE ON THE ZAMBIAN ROADS THE WAY FLIES DIE WHEN POISONED WITH AEROSOL INSECT KILLER AND YOU ARE THERE TALKING ABOUT ROAD SAFETY IMPROVEMENT! MR YALUMA, MULEBAKO SERIOUS BA WISHI.
Thats way he has dissolved the boards to bring sanity in the institution.
i see other bembas getting the appointments..we shall screw them soon..
Goodbye Fredrick Mwalusaka..i crave for the day you will be stopped for a traffic offense since you have a habit running over pedestrians and getting away with it.
Well done mr yaluma the guys are corrupt and are just there to serve their egos, let them go to farms they have failed to sort out numerous accidents on or poor roads, they just chew money for nothing . All RTSA guys are the same everywhere and those in border towns must be transferred to some other places because they are all thieves.
Ba soli ba tanshi ba Mwalusaka! How can they fire the owner of Lusaka sure. These are maneovours to create jobs for the endless waiting list. We all move about with some kind of a fault on which people can capitalise depending on their motives.
Another opportunity to increase the tribal forest by appointing tribesmen to the board and executive at RATSA. Its all in the plan of this government run by proper clowns.
Does Yaluma know what the word “successful” means?Â
These dissolutions are not new its time to appoint others who were left behind. I am sure Willie Nsanda or William Harlington will be appointed to serve as Chairman. Just wait and see as events unfold.
Long overdue.
Maybe the new board will see that police vehicles finally have working break lights, head lights, turn indicators, etc.
It is shameful that ZP vehicles are the worst on the road and wouldn’t even get past their own roadblocks. Road safety law is for everyone, including ZP!
Good redancy Sata. Frederick was to close to Maureen Crook Mwanawasa, in IT jobs Technet was always favoured.
Fire all this corrupt guys, they r a waste of time on our economy. Forward PF,
What are the criteria for board appointments. Are they based on recommendations or there is an application procedure which govern these appointments? Boards have limited periods and in a country like ours there must be a well defined system for board appointments.
Thats JOB creation by PF
We may not have a lot of thing but we can have some dignity. Is that too much to ask. Thank you for hearing peoples cries and follow it up with good meaningful appointments. May Gd grant you wisdom.
Sadly , the culture of corruption is so deeply entrenched that it is only a matter of time before the new guys ” catch on ” ! Additionally a lot of the corrupt practices are done by lower level employees ( who are still there ) !
Imwe ba #6 and # 8, Mumbi Phri has already been appointed a Deputy High Commssioner to Tanzania/Kenya, anyway one of the two. So ni donchi worry.
#27, thank you for your information. I never knew about it. I am so pleased because madam Mumbi Phiri really deserves a position in the party she worked so hard. Thank you.
