Kitwe-based referee Gladys Lengwe will make history next month when she becomes first Zambia female referee at a continental championship.
Lengwe has been selected to officiate at the 2012 African Women’s championship to be held in Equatorial Guinea from October 29 to November 11.
Lengwe, who also handles Faz Super Division matches, has been on a match official’s roaster for the last 12 years and has handled several senior and junior women’s qualifiers.
“To us the appointment of Gladys to be among the elite referees has not come as a surprise because she has been performing very well in all her assignments,” Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza said at Wednesdays press breifing in Lusaka.
Viva Girl Power. Congrates Gladys.
Go Gladys and represent our Mother Zambia and good luck.
