Zambian YouTube Music channel Zed Beats has been blocked

Share

Zambian YouTube Music promoter Zed Beats has been blocked by YouTube due to copy right infringement.

Youtube wrote:
“ZedBeatsOfficial has been terminated because we received multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement regarding material the user posted.”

Zed beats released a statement via their facebook page : “IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Zed Beats Youtube channel is currently offline. Someone had been recently duplicating/cloning our channel (those who have come across it have seen it) and in the end decided to act maliciously and sabotage the efforts of Zed Beats … I am proud to note that Zed Beats has been an ambassador of Zambian music and through its direct efforts, Zambian music is now heard and enjoyed in places it had never been before. Zambians all over the world have also been able to keep up with the latest music like never before. Zambian songs have hit online charts even charts in some foreign countries, DJ’s from around the world have picked it up and you may now hear it playing in the most unexpected of places. It has given a global stage to Zambian artists and some have even been accorded opportunities to travel abroad as a result, while it has also helped fast-track the music careers of others. Plus more … But the full potential of Zambian music is still far from being achieved. However, with things like this happening, we have to make a decision on whether to continue with exhibiting the music and videos like we have done or not.
IN OTHER NEWS: A new version of ZedBeats.com is in the final stage of development and will have many more and better features. Among them, artists will be able to make their own pages and upload their music directly to the site without having to send it to ZedBeats first. This will ensure the site is constantly up-to-date with the latest music artists have to offer. Fans will also have the ability to listen to the songs on the site before deciding whether or not.
That is all for now, have a great day!”

  1. KCI and KweKwe your vocabulary is so limited, go back to school!! You just know of bitterness and hatred words just like the entire PF clan. Come up with new words you tweets. I hate these word and sadly i have to come across them everyday even my dog knows them now.. By the way don’t politicize everything you dweebs

  2. pull down syndrome that is the zambian way, thats the way we are. thet zedbeat platform was more organised than what will start to prevail where each artist has to upload the video and it will take plenty of time to search what you are looking for……………………………………… ten years backwardness

  3. “third-party claims of copyright infringement regarding material the user posted” TIME FOR ZAMBIAN ARTISTS TO BE ORIGINAL. STOP SAMPLING OTHER PEOPLE’S WORK AND PRODUCE THEIR OWN STUFF.

  4. maybe it has something to do with so many zambian artists using international beats for their songs. among other things… maybe. im just saying

  5. I am not surprised looking at the quality of Zambian music we have been subjected to. Yutube has done us a favour.

  6. I agree with Panda. Zambians use too many international beats and instrumentals produced by other hardworking individuals. its fine if we listen to these songs in our back yards but once its gets out there on the internet then they are asking for trouble.
In my opinion, it serves u right that you have been banned, learn to be creative and work hard. next time you will get sued, do not blame anyone but yourselves!

  7. Ati Zambian music instead of saying pirated music. You guys pirate other world beats and then you put your insults there and you call it Zambian music….good work done Youtube. Let these lazy people be creative as to produce their own beats.. dull musicians…Shaaaa.

  8. SAD development! However, I agree with other bloggers, too much pirated beats among Zambian artists! Ifyabupuba muletusebanya bakabwa. Work hard now!

  9. The local composers and lyricists have the same rights as international ones, which simply requires them to be credited and as a result paid per play. You Tube recently made a major adjustment to monetize music and so my guess is the source of material being broadcast online was not credited to the correct owners. You Tube will support rights organisations over individual promoters. My suggestion would be fill in the documentation to avoid infringement. Rights organisations can also block illegal uses on their new site so don’t be short sighted. Re produce from scratch and clear musical works.

  10. That logo has an eagle copied and pasted a flag somewhere, hence the green outline of cheap graphics solution. It is little infringements that arise from understanding IP that we need to tackle at local level in order to perform better at international level. My guess is it is not trade marked or someone dropped the ball. The idea behind promotion is brilliant but only if the promoter supports the intellectual property he is trading with and not blatantly infringing upon creative rights holders.
