  1. ZAMBIA 9 – uganda 8. The cranes have been sent back to footballing school after all that hype – beaten at home, again by a team from southern Africa.

  2. LT how can you miss this opportunity to provide live updates for this game, that’s how you pay your bills, anywhere social media news feeds can handy, even BBC Africa FB was on point….c’mon pull up your socks!!!
Congratulation to the boys await in-depth analysis from people on the ground!!!!!!!!

  3. Congratulations Chipolopolo….the pride of the nation.Go Zambia Go!!!! Nerve wrecking but it finally worked out alright.

  4. Umupondo
Let’s await in-depth analysis from the people on the ground…it wasn’t a AAA display by our team, I’m on the phone now to Kampala with both Zambian and Ugandan supporters.

  5. A lesson for the future; let’s take the most out of our home games to avoid the pressure we were in today. Otherwise, great result.

  6. I understand the under perfomance of Zmb in the first half. Uganda plays very frustrating game for a professional team like Zmb. Our game is slow short passes and we build it from behind going forward. Uganda just kicks the ball in front where they have very dangerous strikers. I thot Zmb didn’t do well but I think the game was tough for them. Thy did all they could to avoid two goals and that is why we won.Keep it up boys.

  7. We need to improve in virtually all departments and bring Clifford Mulenga back to the fold. That was a poor show on the part of Zambia especially the firrst half where we failed to register a shot on target. I think most people will say we love the result but not the manner in which we played. Congrats boys.

    • Every team is wishing to beat Zambia the AFCON Champs. Each team we facing is preparing adquately to beat us.

it was a GOOD result apart from losing 1 – 0. The penaulties saved u,

  8. It does not matter how you get that trophy, as long as you get it period!
    My point?
we did it again and again and again. Damn am so happy, guys leave that country now, no need to hang around you have delivered!

    • Actually ’27’, they were already scheduled to leave just after the match so as at now, they should have touched down-if not, then sooner.

  9. None of the major Zambian sites even bothered to provide updates. Really pathetic.

Why does the ZNBC web site exist at all? As for LT, your standards seem to have no bounds when it comes to a steep descent. What happened?

    • Its really pathetic ….even with radio stations online everything goes on automatic player as the radio DJ disappears for 45 minutes…these guys are missing a big opportunity here.

  10. Malinso, quit the whinging!! This is a business of results!! Zambia registered the minimum requisite! Be happy!! Won’t it be worth your time now to watch the African Cup of Nations in S. Africa WITH Zambia there than in their absence? Get a grip. We won……….. and that’s what matters.

  11. The truth is that they lost in Kampala 0-1 but I wonder why the goal was not mentioned ???
Final they have to test their goalkeepers. Mweene being used to penalty shotouts saved the Chipolopolo.

  12. We have hammered the BA NYAMULENGE. Next time don’t bet on a bird (Crane or whatever) to survive THE BULLET.
    Shapa CHIPOLOPOLO…. Shapaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. we won though am not that happy i didnt expect to go ka ma penalties.haa anyway its better than losing.thanks guyz.

  14. Where are all those Uganda’s who were making so much noise last week? You gotta give respect to the African Champions…we delivered just as planned & expected…hahahahahaha

    • The african champions where second best all through the 90mins and had to wait for the lottery….fortunately it went their way…….If you continue playing like that, u wont go past group stages..Mark my word!! how can u struggle against Uganda….?

  15. God must surely be a Zambian! RSA 2013 here we come! Wonder why Mweene isn’t didn’t make the shortlist for African Player of the Year. Anyway, we went, we fought and we conquered! That’s the Zed spirit. Let the party commence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. god i downed some pints during penalties..the text delay put me on the edge..my heart was in my hands..could not bare the thought of losing to those sharp tongued peps..i was like what now can we say..its ok now they are history but our performance i think is all down to luck of cohension..our players don’t seem to make it on time for cruical games..its just fate this year but we too need to address some issues..how come we cannot score ?..there is a serious problem but for the coaching staff, its time they select performance rather than past performance..

    • The guys have grown big balls between their legs – didn’t you not notice their walking characteristics on the pitch – legs apart – arms away from their bodies and just from their walking you can tell that they don,t care even if they loose they have more money in their pockets.Katongo today was like he slept with some bitch in kampala the whole night surprisingly he was not substituted.

  17. There always some stupid negative zambian who misunderstands the term “Freedom of expression”. It was a tough game but we emerged victorious, period. Learn to appreciate not just condemning.

    • Critico mind your language everyone has a right to his or her opinion and that is what freedom of expression means okay.It is good to win but if you follow the performance of our team since they returned from the Africa cup of nations you will agree with me that it has not been all that impressive. If we go to Afcon 2013 with this kind of performance and expect to defend the title then we must be building castles in the air! Where is the problem? It is with the technical team and FAZ  must not be carried away with this victory but must do something now to ensure we are taking a competiteve team  to afcon 2013 and not to waste tax payers money.

  18. There always some stu.pid negative zambian who misunderstands the term “Freedom of expression”. It was a tough game but we emerged victorious, period. Learn to appreciate not just condemning.

  19. Baane ala cant stop smilling and singing chipolopolo, any one heard the comment from the bbc news woman? Ati zambias experience…., so cool to hear that, we are now qualifyed as experinced not underdogs? ala yaguwa!

  20. Let us wait for the draws and see who we are going to play. One thing I noticed Zambia was playing thinking football which some learned characters will call technical football and Kabovas may call it bola ya mazeto.Buying time defending and waiting for a mistake meanwhile not panicking conceding a goal but again not scoring to avoid aggressiveness from the home team I liked it that way and to many it was like we did not play well no, the secret was to deliever at the end of it all. In all thank you guys mukaya ponokafye bwino ku south africa.

  21. You chaps need to thank Christopher for not scoring the first penalty; had he scored mama, none of our boys was going to put it in the back of the net!! kekekeke

  22. #41, YOU ARE RIGHT. THAT’S MY WORRY ALL THE TIME, TOO. OUR PLAYERS MEET TO PRACTICE IN THE LAST WEEK FOR FEW DAYS. I WONDER WHO DECIDES ON THIS. THERE’S NO COHESION AT ALL. THE PLAYERS LIVE AND PLAY IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND TEAMS RESPECTIVELY. THEY NEED AT LEAST ONE MONTH IN ORDER TO INTEGRATE AND INTERFACE WITH EACH OTHER.

  23. Well done boys. But the technical bench should think about replacing Christopher Katongo, he appears to be tired and should hang his boots. Mweene should be given the captain band

  24. Congrats! But in the end effect as the continental champ Zambia has lost. To win by a penalty shoot out with a goal difference is to win by luck. Uganda and Zambia are at par, good or bad with the exception luck was more on the Zambia’s side today, morrow is our turn a Ugandan day, that’s it!

    • Zambia has lost nothing by winning through penalties as every team wants to beat the Champions of Africa at all costs but what matters is a win and qualification.
Uganda can waite for another 6yrs to make it 40yrs

    • A margin lose to the continental champ says it all, a reason Zambia shunned but couldn’t avoid to meet Uganda. It was at the brink, you must concur, it could have been Uganda with luck.

  25. I think the Africa cup tornament in South Africa must be a window of oportunity for more young people to take over from Joseph Musonda,Christopher Katongo,James Chamanga and Isaac Chansa who seem to be in the evening of their career.

  26. I simply don’t know what to do with CHRIS KATONGO, how can one kick a penalty using a knee… chikufi zoona?
But God is great, if Chris had scored, no other Zambian player would have score.

  27. awe bane! ine BP. as champions, lets start hammering them convincingly and not through lotteries please baice mwalatwipaya kuli BP. otherwise congrats.

  28. congs zambia, next time don’t try to qualify by the skin of the teeth. Make it big champs!! Bravo, now you know Uganda cranes is a thorn in the flesh. Well done Ug cranes, next time better.

  29. yayayayaya. But the trouble with Uganda is that they cant play good football away. Let them learn a lesson from Zambia instead of just saying we played well. The other thing is that they must have the mental strength

  30. chance favours the prepared mind, but lets not live on chancing, some changes needed in the team e.g new blood to replace tired legs and minds.Congratulations lads.

  31. I like the fact that no copper-miner is giving credit to the Ugandan team for dominating their African Champions over 90 minutes and only the penalty gamble saving them. Fact is it was 1-0 in Kampala, and the Chipolopolo fell in the 90 minutes just like real powers and not just lucky Champions have fallen here –Nigeria, Senegal, DR Congo, Ghana, Angola…

  32. I thought it was world cup qualification. Y should we have to compete to qualify for Afcon when we are thw defending champions? I don’t get it or is it LT mistake?

  33. Wow Sunzu scores a winner again. Unstoppable Zambia, Champions of Champions. Too Proud of these lads. WE SHALL defend AFCON in 2013.
    BAM BAM Chipolopolo…

My flight is booked for SA and Brazil to see more History being made!! I wish Ba Tata had lived to see these triumphant wins. Miss u maningi Dad for having taken me back in the 70’s to Indepence Stadium shoulder high and introduced me to this loving and addictive sport.

    • African champions only managed one shot at goal!! in 45 mins..surely…i don’t see you defending the cup!! at some point luck will run out…..be sure!!

  34. Congratulations Chipolopolo!! Now we should get on with the serious preparations. There areas of improvement which yesterday’s match exposed.
Mbola and Nkausu looked so indecisive and unpredictable that they could have caused me a heart attack. Katongo was rusty. Zambian spectators expect a starting line-up that combines Sakuwaha & Mayuka, or Chamanga & Mayuka. Do we have suitable replacements for Himoonde and Sunzu should disaster strike? These are some of the shortcomings we must work before AFCON Mr. Renard?

  35. What about that man called Mweene, who can ably fit his shoes if he’s unable to continue with a game it almost happened yesterday?

  36. I feel so disapointed about this game, does it mean Uganda can play good enough to take us to penalties. its sad. Hey boys please remember we are the African Champions and am praying so hard that we return that cup next year( which is 2 months from now). Please be serious, am totally behind you and some big teams that were not there this year will be there next year. Am proudly Zambian and do us proud!!!!!! God Bless you all and Good Luck.

  37. Chipolopolo, Teams training too hard to beat u. Train and strategise to also beat them. let Rehnard instil in OUR Players instict to finish off Opponents, the Game early. We shall meet tough teams that will have starts and camp adquately.

let our BOYS die a little for Zambia. Not easy to win and retain the cup as defending Champs. Egypt did it so we should also do it.

  38. Thought the african champions should have done better than just zero shots at goal in first half!!! We gave u a run for your money……it was embarrassing to see unknown Uganda making the (temporary AFCON champs) to sweat plasma…..Uganda maintained its record of not losing a game at home in open play! I dint see a difference in class between the two teams. I hope you dont disappoint in SA….as lady luck sometimes goes missing….. :d

  39. These chaps are a disappointment! Their performance was terrible for the African champions. They seem to be living in an illusion of comfort. Too many adverts … no time to perfect their skills!

  40. bt come South Africa i think we nid to change our squad,c wat happend in Uganda, those chaps studied us thru n thru cos they even know who replaces who wen so n so is injured

  41. @No.8 (Ke Nako),etc 4heavens sake when and how did u send the Cranes to school. We dint study from Zambia to outwit u and we dont need en lessons from u to qualify. The record is that we became the first to beat the 2012 AFCON Champs (at full strength)in a competitive match and the Namboole record remains intact, infact if we qualify 4the last 10 in World Cup Qualifiers,i wud wish 4another pairing wiz Chipolopolo.Again someone shud get their history right (put your brain in gear b4 u accelerate en action on da key board),there is no tribe called banyamulenge in Ug’.Some Zambians first said Uganda has no team b4 the Ndola game, but evaporated away. Its not far fetched when some of ya compatriots say u nid to improve. This are kiganda proverb 4u: Omusajja gy’agenda gy’asanga basajja bane.
