Scott Dreams of 2014 Qualification

Share

Republican Vice-President Guy Scott says he is looking forward to see Zambia qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Scott expressed confidence that the African champions would make it to Brazil.

The Vice-President said he plans to go Brazil to watch Zambia compete at the world stage.

Scott was speaking at the 2012 MTN-FAZ Football Awards held in Lusaka on Wednesday night.

“I intend to be in Brazil when the time comes, I don’t want to go and watch any other team besides Zambia.

“That is just another challenge, If you can win the AFCON why can’t you (Zambia) qualify,” he said.

Scott also revealed that Brazil great Pele hailed Chipolopolo’s display against Ivory Coast in the 2012 Africa Cup final.

“Pele himself was there in the VIP section and I asked him what he thought of the match and he said that it was the most exciting match he had ever watched.

“He meant it and when Pele says that you must be above the rest. That is praise from almost the heavens to be told that,” he recalled.

    • you must be out of touch with time, PF will be in power until 2016 and the world cup will be in 2014. this is not a chicken and egg situation iwe mambala.

  2. tu ma little silly Chaps like Jojo, gonclaves, voodoo, etc who can only use borrowed internet at the office are quiet. when I say they are silly, hope now people believe me. very silly little minded boys

    • Oh dear Blessings! Do you have a man crash on me? Sorry I am happily married with two kids. I need to have family quality time with the wifey and the kids! There’s no need for me to waste time arguing with kids like Maxwell. Maxwell can afford to post stuff at 3.02 AM British Time because as a Guard he has to keep himself awake. Not that I have anything against security Guards. My dear Maxwell I have never in my life worked for your GRZ!

  3. Mr. Scott, we all know you frequent LT and often read our comments. Having said that, I’d like for you to know that I am just one of the many people that advocated for your election to public office. I voted for PF and can still remember the joy I felt when you all won. I was (like many) quite fed up with MMD and their gross incompetance and mismanagement of public funds among many issues.
Now sir, I mean this with all due respect; (screaming) what the f.u.c.k. is your boss doing creating districts on top of districts? Is this the best PF can surely do? I did not vote for more district creation. I voted for more jobs for the unemployed, more schools built, better hospitals and improved lives of living.
Please sir, tell your boss to STOP dreaming. He is President already.

    • boss mukamba chani?? who says that when you create districts then the unemployed shall never be employed? even if they never did, how does that affect you as umupondo?? get a life!

    • District creation should NOT top the President’s ‘to do list’. Just like, building stadiums in Kaoma or whereever should not be priority for the PF government. The President through GRZ should primarily focus on more pertinent issues. Creating new districts will not put food on peoples’ tables nor will it help with the situation at many hospitals and clinics. College graduates need jobs right now in Zambia. Build new schools and hopsitals. These will inturn require that people (graduates) are hired to run these intitutions thus creating jobs and putting money in peoples’ pockets and food in their bellies. Do you understand katolilo iyo? It’s not about how this affects me.I have a life already; a wonderful one at that. It’s about how it affects the ordinary citizen. Grow some sense.

    • u r very dumb…this creation of districts is the best thing to ever happen to our country. imagine how many govt depts will be created in these new districts.. the district medical officer (always is a medical doctor), district educational officer, district social welfare officer, district agricultural officer, name! essential services are getting closer to the people mwana

  4. Umupondo, those that are mature enough know that there is planning ad implementation stage. our Beloved Great Leader has been creating the necessary infrastructure to allow for meaningful development. Just the other day you saw the 90 days legacy swimming pool and the UNZA hostels. Those are fruits of the Great leaders visionary acts. We need Kabimba and Kambwili, GBM etc. This country is developing. More districts is good. I suggest you just shut-up.

  5. OOH!! THESE ARE VERY SWEET WORDS FROM OUR VEEP. COPPER-BULLETS, YOU ARE CHALLENGED BY THE VEEP’S ENCOURAGEMENT AND IT REMAINS YOUR RENDITION TO DELIVER THAT QUALIFICATION AND POSSIBLY THE WORLD CUP VICTORY TO ZAMBIA. THAT’S SO SWEET MR PRESIDENT.

  6. well said. he is just dreaming. that is PF’s game plan. dream, dream. ‘let be there new districts’ when they work up they create them. are these chaps really serious. the budget is not yet approved expenses are already incurred. gayi sikoti ask your boss if he is normal. then ask yourself as well. you two old maggots really irritating me. especially that i wasted my vote on you. the future of our great nation zambia is blink

  7. #5 JUST SHUT UP IF YOU ARE SO IGNORANT. ARE YOU TELLING THE WORLD THAT YOU JUST VOTED BLINDLY WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOU WERE VOTING FOR? CREATING DISTRICTS AND PROVINCES WAS IN BLACK AND WHITE DURING PF CAMPAIGNS. STOP MARKETING YOUR IGNORANCE YOU CHAPS. YOU DON’T EVEN SEEM TO HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN WITH REGARDS TO THESE DISTRICTS AND PROVINCES AND ZAMBIA IN GENERAL, DO YOU?

  8. #10 let me address you directly. Yes, I voted for PF. No I did not vote blindly. I voted for an improved way of life for an ordinary citizen. As much as ‘district creation’ is one of the PF campaign promises, it should not be a priority for this president. Remember, we still have a lot of residual bull$hit that MMD created for more than two decades.
Not to mention the erroded mentality that most of you have, you seem to be dilusional of the facts as they are. Trust me, I have enough knowlegde of what’s going on with the Zambia unlike you. What the president is currently doing is trying to disengange himself from the most important campaign promises while focusing on the mediocre ones. Zambia with or without new districts will still face the same challenges. Don’t be fooled.

    • Umupondo, I agree with you entirely, ba neighbor. We need serious issues to be addressed– issues which affect ordinary people in Zambia.

  9. @5 Umupondo- If you have known Sata for a long time, you will understand him. His dream has always to creat more districts because according to him this make adinistration easier and well distributed. He talked a lot about this when he was just a councillor for Kabwata. He is just full filling his vision.

  10. The ccreation of districts Is acrisply ppodiyivr and oone way og tasking ddeviation msong anf development closer to the people. My only Idue is the aparent arbitrary and haphazard mmanner tthe President Is glong about It. It sshould gave bbeen dnor systematically anfvdevelopmrjt wother Iinvolvement of technocrats and IIndeed Cabinet. TThru wJolene eexercise coilfields have bErnest done once to allow for planting!

  11. For those that are annoyed wth the creation of new districts don’t know zambia very well. Take for instance the long distances between districts in northern province(kasama – mpika 210km) compare ths wth the distances between copperbelt districts whch has enhanced service delivery. For those of us working to serve rural communities, creation of new districts is the way to go. Right now am in luapula- kawambwa where u hav one bank and people in some areas cover 180km to access the services.
So Umupondo if u were the presido how would u help these people.

    • You missed my point. I am not anti-district creation. Think about it, what has the President significantly done in the one year + he’s been in office? He has been re-aligning his cabinet for the longest, creating districts whenever he has a wet dream, he has been firing and hiring at will, he has been yupping uncontrollably about corruption in the most distasteful fashion, he has not implimented not one campaign promise…save for this district creation. Ofcourse, creating districts has some advantages in terms of bringing major services closer to the people but my point here is that, Mr. Sata seems to be pre-occupied with this “campaign promise”. For crying out loud, this should NOT be the President’s primary goal. There are more tangible & URGENT promises he can surely focus on.

  12. Umupondo, are u blind with wat is happening concerning creation of more Districts? it means more jobs because in Government depts, they have to employ for district officers. more messengers employed, more district administrative officers employed, more police officer. and many more. this is one way of creating jobs and decentralisation process. learn to analyse we mupondo.

  13. Umupondo, you are blind indeed!! tauli mupondo, pantu abapondo abenebene know their Zambia very well & this creation of new districts is a very welcome move.. Some Districts please Mr. President.

  14. umupondo is a mediocre from shangombo who knows nothing about Zambia and where it is heading too.pls provide solutions to the creation of new districts as opposed by you.my friend Zambia is on the righty track only that the PF goverment is outspending more money on useless things target the rural areas improve their ordinary way of life by encouraging cooperatives instead of backing on the internet like akapondo with no vision

  15. A hahaha ICHIPONDO- Ifipondo -Wemupondo,Wecapondo name them. Your analysis is mediocre, next time kindly research & consult before exposing yourself!!!

  16. Lets talk football and no districts here, Zambia may qualify from the current group. My only worry is the final group of two, playing home ‘en away which makes everything tricky. All the best Chipolopolo, u bring smiles to many faces. continue doing so

  17. So all you kunckleheads explain something to me; You all claim that district creation will help peopleby creating jobs. Creating jobs? WTF is wrong with you all? How many of these “jobs” will come as a result of one rural dwelling being turned into a district?

You *****s have zero foresight. No wonder Sata is doing whatever he wants when ever he wants because of ignorant villagers like most you.The President needs to be pressed and focus on MORE important issues than district creation. He, (SATA) has been mandated by the people of Zambia to carry out his duties diligently. It’s no secret that, we need more roads built, schools, hospitals, and basic infrastructures. These will without a doubt bring REAL job creation for many people – urban and rural. Don’t just yup nonsense.

  18. yes umupondo you have finally come to your senses; we need more school, hospitals, basic infrastructure and the whole lot. To be specific we need more district hospitals, more roads connecting many districts, and more schools in many districts and this comes up not with few districts as it is now but by creating more districts first and Mr Sata is doing it right. Thank you Sir Cobra on this one. I did not vote for Mr Sata and I belong to UPND but we should give credit where it belongs.
