Odense to Honour Mwape Miti

Share

LT Sports understands that Danish top side OB Odense is next week set to honour ex-Chipolopolo forward Mwape “Jagga” Miti.

Miti, who spent 9 years at Odense, will be honoured for his contribution to the club.

He is expected to leave for Denmark early next week.

A knee injury forced Miti to retire from active football in 2006 and Odense accorded him a farewell match in that year.

The former Power Dynamos and Mulungushi Chiefs (defunct) striker is reported to have played 246 games for Odense and scored 109 goals.

In 2004, Miti finished as joint top scorer in the Danish Superliga

  1. Malinso,my brother please, first of all English maybe you need to read what you write before you post your comments and secondly where and how does the citizenship issue come in?

  2. Ba maliso. How long have you been watching Zed soccer? I’m sure you are a post Gabon soccer fan. no much history.Mwape Miti is one of the less celebrated soccer players whose contribution will only be remembered by die-hard fans like me. mwape like Lucky Msiska, Charles ‘Charlie Cool’ Musonda, jonstone bwalya, stone Nyirenda, Gibby Mbasela..the list goes on never got the respect they deserved.

  3. I never heard anything about Miti as well. Where did he play soccer in Zambia. How come I dont know him? Why honored if Zambia has not honored him. Kanshi lota , Davis Phiri should be also honored as well.

  4. It is strange to hear that some so called soccer fans claim not to know Mwape Miti. Anywa,y for your own information Miti played for Power in the nineties and was sported by a OB Odense of Denmark. He also played for Chipolopolo though most of the time he had a recurring injury. No serious soccer follower above the age of 25 can claim not to have known ‘Jagger’, He was in his own class. surely he is one of the main unsung heroes of our beautiful game. So please Ba Malinso avoid exposing your shallow knowledge over straight forward issues to avoid people taking you for a ‘useful *****’

  5. Go to ZNBC and ask for these matches: Zambia vs Mauritius (1995) his debut match, Zambia vs Burkina Faso (1996 AFCON match) and many other matches………If you don’t know Miti go to hell and hang yourself bafiwa….Fools!!!!!!!!!!! especially chi Malinso we chi Tonga iwe or ichi Lozi fuseki!!!!!!!! very tribalistic and uncivilized chaps.

Happy for you Mwape Miti, long live my hero. Go and be honoured and pliz don’t mind these fools in Zambia who deliberately want to delete you from the history books, but the genuine Danish club feels that you deserve to be respected and honoured.

For you who know nothing about Zambian soccer, don’t come here and expose your ignorance or else you will be made civilized..Be warned especially chikala Malinso, fuseki!!!!!!!!

  6. The fact that some people do not know Mwape Miti (one of the finest stars Zambia has produced in recent times) probably suggests that our record keeping and knowledge transfer has a problem. this is why we also failed to effectively challenge the claim of Leon Messi’s goals (versus Chitalu) as we have no clear records of our former players’ achievements. Imwe ba FAZ, make efforts to have professional instrumentalists in your secretariat and/or the football zones. do not rely on journalists who report for their respective media houses

  7. The problem is that most of you bloggers are under-five chaps…. No idea of Zambian soccer… ask us and will write a history for you……. when we used ichilata (independence stadium) and dag stadium, Ndola as slaughter houses for any tean in Africa…… Dont expose your ignorance… Ask if you dont know…

  8. Insele ubwingi! That’s why the minister was complaining. In the 21st century we should be able to shut up a senseles blogger without Insulting him

  9. Come on people! Intelligence and insults don’t go together. Please don’t assume the person posting and showing some ignorance about a known fact is of mature age. You may just be insulting a teenage boy or girl.
    Be gracious.

  10. Imwe bafiikalah, now will you know joseph ngupeni, sammy selamani, alfred chela, tom boy boy kunda, mustapha kalizamani, benjamin kaipole kapaya, alex doboman singini, these were days when football was enjoyed.pure skills batata

  11. Malinso and Kwindi, are you serious soccer fans or you were just too young in 1993 when Mwape Miti became a national team player after the Gabon disaster. He was taken to Denmark by POULSEN the former Zambian National Team coach, who also helped to rebuild our new team.
Mwape Miti and Andrew Tembo played together and I remember they were quite good players to watch. The fact that you do not know them does not take away their quality.

  12. Ka malinso, i now believe that your little pencil between your legs is shrinking by the day !! k.a.k.a.l.a >k.o.b.e.

  13. IN ZAMBIA TODAY, THERE IS NO STRIKER WHO CAN MATCH THE SKILLS OF ‘JAGGA’. TALK OF BALL CONTROL, PASSING, DRIBBLING, SHOOTING THE GUY HAD EVERYTHING REQUIRED OF A MODERN STRIKER. MALINSO, YOU ARE TODDLER OR YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE WHO BECAME SOCCER FANS AFTER THE GABON TRIUMPH.

  14. i know Mwape Miti, he was very good player. Those who are saying they don’t know this great player must have been young during his time. He deserves honor and respect more especially at his Club.
