The Technical Committee charged with drafting the constitution have finished writing the first final draft of the Republican constitution.
Chairperson of the Technical Committee on Drafting the Republican Constitution Annel Silungwe has confirmed the development in Lusaka, adding that the drafting team finished their work this morning.
Justice Silungwe says the document will now be subjected to proof readers starting Monday.
Justice Silungwe has assured the nation that the final constitution will be handed over to the Republican President before December this year.
And Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba says government will not allow foreign elements to be inserted in the constitution to protect interests of a small group of stakeholders.
Mr. Kabimba says the constitution is a document for the nation and it should reflect the will and aspirations of the Zambian people.
And Chairperson of the Civil Society Groups that met the Justice minister today, Father LEONARD CHITI, thanked Mr. Kabimba for having accorded the civil society an opportunity to present their concerns.
The civil society took turns in asking Mr. Kabimba questions on the roadmap for the constitution.
Good one.let’s hope it has addressed key issues that people had raised earlier on.
What were those issues, they were concerned about?

“And Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba says government will not allow foreign elements to be inserted in the constitution to protect interests of a small group of stakeholders.”
Who are the foreign elements, Mr. Kabimba? Zambians in the diaspora? This insinuation is a clear indication of your bad attitude towards Zambians in the diaspora! Can someone please tell me why there is such a negative attitude towards Zambians in the diaspora? What wrong did we do? We left Zambia to find a better life. The Zambian government could not pay us wages that could enable us to take care of our siblings at home. We have bought houses in Zambia, paid for our siblings education and done a lot more. By the way, the government can not even employ the graduate nurses and radiographers that in Zambia as I…
Where is watch dog in the online? I can not access it
I remain sceptical about this making any difference.

– Mr Kabimba, whats the meaning of this? Pls be specific on issues and leave no room for speculation. If you meant homos/lesbianism, we in the diaspora have no issues with that and I take it you did not mean Dual Citizenship either, otherwise tatwaufwane. This is the only good thing we are expecting in the whole of that document come December.

LT, u give the questions that were asked coz now that is vague. We need to understand if this father doest not talk like Luonde
Hope it makes sense, but I am still shocked that we don’t want anyone running for president to at least have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. What does that tell us of the value we place on education in this country?
Are we a warrior?
