The non-governmental organisation, AGE Justice International ,has asked the Patriotic Front (PF) government to give Zambians an update on the progress made so far in the creation of Zambia National Service skills training schools in the 73 districts of the country.

Age Justice International President Philemon Phiri said Zambians are anxiously waiting to know the progress made in the implementation of the program announced by the government last year.

Mr. Phiri Said the update will help parents and school leavers prepare adequately for this noble cause.

He said his organization is in full support of this pronouncement adding that it will help equip school leavers with various skills as they prepare themselves to cope with life challenges and enable them venture into entrepreneurship.

Mr Phiri noted that last year when Minister of Youth and Sports Chishimba Kambwili announced the program many Zambians became hopeful and therefore would want to know what steps government is taking to make the pronouncement a reality.

He said the public needs to hold government accountable for its pronouncements and utilisation of national resources.

AGE Justice International is a non- governmental organization based on the Copperbelt focused on advocacy for good governance, Gender equity and Justice international.

    • You mean 90 days, you still believe in that Sata? His boat docked, people need to disembark, and walk-off to look for something noble.

    • @Ba Nostradamus :Sata 90 days was not a boat to begin with.It was a badly assembled rocket that misfired on the launch pad.

  1. tekanyafye chi phiri naiwe, those things ll be done. whats wrong with NGOs rushing to gain cheap publicity. Infact most of these NGOs are full of women who grab other womens husbands.

    • Oh my ! Thats an heavy one.All because of differences in opinions ? Sad how some of you take political differences. But hey bro you shoudn`t make it a habit of insulting innocent women. This shows how bad your upbringing and vision in life is.Bless you.

  2. one of the opposition leaders was quoted speaking strongly against, may b the gvt heared and decide to change. Bt u need to know that, that is a big project that cannot be done in a single year.

    • The issue hear is for govt to update us on ANYTHING that has been done or put in place concerning those pronouncements. Remember Kambwili said he’d resign if it failed.

  3. ZNS training for school leavers is very costly, outdated and a misplaced priority some of these NGOs should do their research before they make such ill-informed statements – Greece and Italy had these national service training schemes where are they today? Why not encourage and offer tax incentives to the private sector that offer school leaver apprenticeships schemes instead.

    • ……what you re saying is no brainer, forget it! …why blame NGOs when it’s PF that made a fake 90 day promise!

    • I agree with Govt and JayJay, this project is costly and needs proper research why it failed even here, and plan for it not to fail once implemented. Best way to go is to capture idle and jobless youths and reformed prisoners and train them into responsible and productive citizens, build them settlement/cooperative farms to grow more food for the nation, add value to minerals and other natural resources produced in Zambia by applying the skills they would have learnt, and keep they busily occupied!

  4. Ke ke ke ke! Are u sure u want PF to account for their promises?
PF are empty tins! That is why they made a lot of noise when they were in the opposition. They have no agenda and that us why they have to poach opposition MPs. They are all dull and irresponsible!

  5. I’ll update you in 3 days time.
Why the rush? Is it that you don’t have money to pay for your children who are yet to finish school?
I need a response to my question from you before I update you on how far we’ve gone within my stipulated 3 days.

  6. ZNS camps are not what we need.
Jobs and better Education are more
important. ZNS does not provide skills
    required by Business and Industry
though it helps with disciplinary issues.
The youth can be taught not how to
drink, smoke, do drugs and engage
    in risky sexual behaviour.

  7. kambwili let us see how you are going to respond to this as a listening government. Come on disaster kambwili les now

  8. Why have the former ZWD patrons come here with their insolence, insulting other people’s parents? It is a big shame.

    • Those insults are from PF cadres who have no respect for women. The stuff that has happened over the weekend in Chipata and solwezi is testimony to that. Besides PF people have very limited vocabulary and as a result just haul unpalatable words in their mother tongue. They are just like their leader in the use of crude language. Our mothers have really been insulted this weekend!
Honestly, the level of discourse in PF cadres is disgusting.

    • you you moron insult rupiah after being given crambs by kapimbe dont you realise he is somebody’s parents banoko ka beans ukufota

  9. Now everyone want to walk like Sata… look at that ZNS man. What kind of sport does Sata has ever played kanshi?

  10. Talent is God given,be humble.Fame is man given,be grateful.Conceit is self given,be careful ba PF coz you surely overestimated yourselves.

  11. its all bembas. aweh twacula. Then a fool comes to preach to me ati one zambia one nation. I will spit at him/her.

  12. in addition, winter ka imbwa also told us that grade one to four will be learning in local language.let him update us too.

  13. So you want LT to be closed by stuffing it with your insults? So that GRZ closes it and we shall have no platform to express our views? BUT editors of LT can shut out your insults. I think GRZ should help to nurture blogs that are decent so that people can continue to enjoy freedom of expression. Although some sections of PF are totally opposed to freedom of expression (assisted by Zambia Police as witnessed in Kasama -Mano Radio- and blocking of opposition rallies), PF has done much better than MMD when it comes to accessssing media. Has ZNBC ever refused the opposition from buying time so that they can be heard in every corner of Zambia? ZNBC coverage of opposition is there but it can be improved.

    • Is this what you’ve been instructed to preach at the Zambian High Commission in Ottawa? Or has the PF moved to Toronto going by their utterances of the ‘evils committed by Nevers at the Zed High Embassy in Toronto?

  14. this boy juma pondamali..this is way u insult even your own mother and father?! From insults i can tell 2 things: 1, your mother/father never took good care of you. 2, you must ve leant how to blog hence the excitment we fontini we.

  15. Kabova : bakamba baka Kambwili ati shani the story of ZNS skills training centres you promised kabili?
Kambwili : uhhhm when was that kaponya iwe?
    was a drink or sober?
Kabova : last year boss …uhmm you looked a bit drunknormalitic
Kambwili : kikikikiki…mwaiche lets the past be the past
“old is gonnneeee..” singing in michael jackson
    focus on the present
Kabova : but mudala you promise?
Kambwili : donchi kubeba welalilalila asheeeee!!!!!

  16. My dear loving Zambians lets face the facts do not blame the NGOs or Mr. Phiri’s calling the government to up date the nation on its pronouncements made last year. It is the job of Mr Phiri and NGOs to give government checks and balances. Also to speak on behalf of the voiceless. I am sure Mr. Phiri is a reach man and can take his children to schools. What you should know is PF promised Zambian people including America, guys, UN, Taiwan etc alot of things. Kambwiri said if grade 12s do not go to ZNS by 2013 he will resign on moral grounds. PF said by 2013 they will construct ZNSs in all 73 District, This is what they said! it is not us Zambians who limited their time frame but their maladministration promises.
