The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says it will receive as a ‘prodigal son’ its Kalabo central Member of Parliament Chinga Miyutu who has relinquished his position as Deputy Minister for Sports in the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

Mr. Miyutu was among the few UNPD Members of Parliament that accepted jobs in the PF government against the UPND leadership’s will.

UPND Secretary General Winston Chibwe said despite Mr. Miyutu having disobeyed the party’s directive not to accept the Deputy Ministerial position in the PF government, the UPND has happily accepted his comeback to the party.

Mr. Chibwe in an interview with QFM has disclosed that Mr. Miyutu has already written to the UNPD Secretariat to inform them of his return to the party fold.

Mr. Chibwe has further brushed off fears that Mr. Miyutu could be a spy the PF has recruited to infiltrate the UPND.
