English Championship club Wigan Athletic has filed a bid for Zambia and Southampton striker Emmanuel Mayuka.
According to the Sportsmole, Wigan coach Owen Coyle is hoping to sign Mayuka before the August 11 Community Shield final game against Manchester United.
Mayuka is entering his second season at Southampton who he joined from Swiss club Young Boys in August 2012.
The Zambia striker has yet to score a competitive goal for Southampton after playing 11 Premiership games last season.
However he broke his duck a week ago in a 3-1 pre-season win over Turkish club Besiktas.
Meanwhile, Mayuka came on in the second half of Southampton’s 4-1 post-match penalty loss away to Spanish club Celta Vigo in a pre-season meeting on Saturday evening that ended scoreless.
Mayuka did not take any of the spot kicks.
the problem i have with zambians is they overrate the zambian football. i don’t know how man world or africa cups those who died in 1993 lifted but look at the praises today, naming the stadium etc.
you are such an ars.e not worthy of anything….keep on yapping purposelessly!! Cimbwi!!
In my view anything that guarantees Mayuka regular game time is worth considering.
u re not zambian..why commenting in such a negative way??????
Fool

Shut up iwe, you do not know football.
Foolish indeed
Shut up you suicide bomber! They will find you in America like they found your Uncle Osama and after getting ride of…your worthless body in the Atlantic Ocean, no one will name a stadium after a p.rick like you.

@ changa changa,
wachepa sana, nakupapata am speaking my mind. sorry for those triple coments.
My advice to Muyaka is to sign as the English championship is a very competitive league and the right league for him to improve his confidence and prefect skill in front of goal. Moreover Wigan is one of the last family owned clubs in England hence Muyuka will definitely be rewarded for his services when they are promoted next season just like the current English players are being rewarded with positions at Southampton for bringing them up. Lastly coach Owen Coyle is a good man manager and old school type of manger just the right of ingredients our Mayuka urgently needs to prefect his skill.
Mayuka sign even if its a transfer you need the practice!!
*perfect skill in front his..
Mayuka, You are a Good Player as you proved in Switzerland which is European league unlike these ignorant bloggers will lead you to believe. Get yourself into a Premiership team like Norwich, I know You will deliver. Advice DON’T downgrade to Championship. You are to Good for that, & You will be short changing yourself, & your stock will diminish if you go Championship, & Your “Championship Team” gets relegated. VIVA MAYUKA!!
If Swiss league is so good why are their teams kicked out of group stages of UEFA. Its not up to Muyuka to choose where to go he is not in that position..its the clubs that come to him and make offers… and there is no better platform for him to promote himself than the Championship and don’t confuse it with FAZ division 1 there are stadia that world class in that league and teams get up to £20 million in TV rights with players getting up to £30,000 per week in wages.
Wake up!!
too good for that
@ Mother F**ker now i have a bone to pick with u…….u are the same bas**rd that was commenting rubbish about the kampasa story…….if you have nothing sensible to say please spare us the bull sh*t, i apologize for my obscene language but this guy is getting on my last nerve ..
ba officer ….awe mwandi ndeloleshafye.
Zambians think everything English is heavenly. This is obviously from a lingering colonial mentality. Slave mentality drives it home better. How can the second division of a country that never wins anything unless they are hosting it be called VERY competitive? You should be advising Mayuka to go to France or Spain or Germany. Mayuka go for top league soccer not second tier or also ran leagues
Kulola fye ukwalola umwela apa, no choice bane. Mayuka go to Wigan!!!
Foolish
