A 25 year old women in Sinazongwe district has been arrested for killing her baby after she gave birth.
The women identified as Vera Movwe from Mayakayaka compound in Maamba secretly gave birth, allegedly killed her baby and buried it near the sewerage said the Vice Chairperson for Mayakayaka neighbourhood Loenard Nabbili.
Nabbili said t the neighborhood was tipped that Movwe who was eight month pregnant was freely moving in the compound without a baby and upon confronting her she refused to disclose where she took the baby.
The Vice Chairperson said after further interrogations from police she accepted and led them where she buried the babe.
He explained that the babe had marks on the forehead and blood was oozing from the nose.
“She wrapped the baby in a cloth and buried it in a shallow hole; it was clean and was taken to Maamba hospital Mortuary when it was exhumed.
Maamba police has since taken her to Choma where she was expected to appear before the magistrate court.
Nabbili bemoaned that cases of abortion among the women especially the teenage girls were at an increase in Maamba Township.

this woman is a murderer she must hang for killing an innocent baby. Why in the first place didnt she prevent herself from becoming pregnant and only to kill the baby after its born. Please these murders must come to an end. The country must come up a law of surrendering these unwanted babies to some hospital or homes were the mothers will not be harassed all they will do is take these babies and thats it.
At eight months It could have been a normal birth and not abortion. It will be difficult to convict her of murder because moment are known to under go post natal depression or even tempral insanity after giving birth.

There are alot of people that would do anything to have a baby. And to hear that somebody killed their baby is very sad indeed.
What a horrific act especially coming from a mother. How can a mother have such a heart of killing, bury and then act with a ” Life goes on atitude”. She definetly needs medicle assessment before sending her for trial. I am sure she’s not in a right state of mind. May the precious litle soul rest in peace and God have mercy upon this women.
It is very heart breaking to hear that a woman carries a pregnancy that is known to people, and when time is due, she rather kills and pretends nothing has happened in her life. What a shame indeed! why do we spare such people in society? Can’t we learn from issues like Madeleine’s how touchy a child is to the parents. If only she knew how good it is to be called a parent, she would not have done this thing. Check her mental status and then charge her for killing that innocent soul.
