Over three hundred suspected Patriotic Front (PF) cadres have been arrested and charged with criminal trespass for trespassing on a Farm in Lusaka West with intentions of demarcating it into plots.
A group of cadres had illegally allocated to themselves 20 hectors of the 30 hectors Trishul farm land belonging to a Mr. Patel.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has told Qfm News that those arrested who include men and women will appear in court to tomorrow, Friday, September 27th.
Mr. Hamoonga has also cautioned members of the public engaging in similar activities in the country that police will not hesitate to arrest them for criminal trespass regardless of political affiliation.
Mr. Hamoonga has further warned that police have enough manpower and fire power to quell any violent people who are found to be trespassing on private land as was observed today at Trishul farm in Lusaka West.
Meanwhile a spot check by a Qfm new crew this afternoon found broken windows to the shopping mall belonging to Mr. Patel which was looted by the cadres during the commotion before police moved in to stop the cadres.
The cadres also attempted to ransack a nearby bank to which they only managed to break windows.
By 14:00hrs this afternoon, smoldering smoke from burnt tyres set on fire by the cadres was still visible and Mumbwa Road which earlier had traffic stopped was open for traffic.
And a shop owner who had his shop looted, Isaac Besa disclosed that about 90 thousand kwacha worth of his goods were looted as well as about 80 thousand kwacha cash that was in shop’s counter till.
He however complained of the delayed response from police to stop the cadres from looting.
This is the confusion!! Dr Mumba was talking
Most youths are not happy with the recent price increases due to removal of subsidies. Ubunga has gone up almost 3 times in just 2 years and you think these PF thugs are happy. The ubunga price alone has reduced peoples’ money 3 times and the worst is yet to come. Come December the prices of everything will go up again.
Soon the bus fares will also go up as soon as toll roads are introduced. Generally most poor people are worse off in PF regime. Oh the list is endless!
HH put it rightly when he said PF is a failed project.
This is what makes Zambia unattractive to foreign investors: lack of respect for private property and no rule of law. How can ruling party cadres allocate themselves land, already on title (i.e. belonging to a landlord)? The same has happened in Ibex Hill, just 1 kilometre from the new USA Embassy complex, at the so-called “Kalale” where cadres invaded land and allocated themselves plots, creating not only an ugly shanty compound but also a potential breeding ground for subversive elements, which may seek to harm USA (and other Western interests) in Lusaka. Al Qaida terrorists usually recruit from such unsavoury characters. Zambia must not be caught napping. Let the Government demolish all illegal shanties in Ibex Hill and Lusaka West to avoid a similar Kenyan-style Westgate situation.

I would like to hear @Saulosi or @Dada who always defend the indefensible. Whats your take guys? The true colours of PF are coming out. A leopard can not change its spots. When even us the neutrals tried to point out the spots, the above mentioned and others would insist those were not spots but stripes.
It is time USA got involved in Zambian affairs, there is no way you can risk arresting 300 PF cadres, while other 300 PF cadres are in streets of cairo/Lusaka road demanding removal of PF cadre’s secretary.
Send NATO & UN Peace keepers into Lusaka.
very soon from PF they will be UPND….Failed Project
@onono,
You can not compare UPND to PF thugs whose leader is CNP. The confusion in PF stems from the way it s leader Sata likes to run things. UPND is an organised party whose political force is unstoppable like it or not. People want a new dimension of leadership with SMART (Specific Manageable Achievable and Realistic Targets) targets. They are sick and tired of endless lies from the PF thats why some PF thugs have taken to the streets to protest. It is not because of Kabimba but because of the unfairness being perpetrated at all levels of government from the very top.
I think your characterisation of UPND is grossly unrealistic. You seem not to like the leader because of the lies the post peddled in its useless past paper. The man is a clean politician who made money in…
HH is a gentleman.he is not easily swayed by borrowing.this is always the problem when you borrow during campaign period.even fools will insult you in public for just a ngwee they contributed.viva ba daara.
Cadres are brainless….even in MMD they were like that and we still know that even UPND will form govt cadres will be stupid too.
in MMD there was alittle bit of order,,, what we are seeing now is barbaric and evil, NEVER been seen before, you should have seen the footage on muvi tv when these powerful PF cadres were freely grabbing any land in their view!!!
Their own PF Secretary General (Kabimba) has confirmed that these are the most indiscplined and violent cadres in the history of our country. Who are we to argue with him?
Kabimba trained this militia of cadres. What I saw today was war…police troop carriers speeding towards the battle front. No no no… this is not our peaceful Zambia.
Bemba failed experiment.
Please desist from using tribal remarks…
Which order are you talking about MMD
Does this country have a President?
@ MK I DOUBT ASWELL WHEATHER WE HAVE A PRESIDENT I ONLY HEARD RUMOURS WHEN SATA,S NAME WAS MENTIONED BUT I SWEAR I DONT KNOW WHO SATA IS
I will carry out a citizens arrest of Sata in the US the way Peter Tatchell attempted to arrest Robert Mugabe in London in 1999.
The sad part the guy thinks by virtue of being Prez , he is in charge. The streets are burning, cabinet ministers are contradicting and fighting each other.
The danger is the cadres and the Kaponya Ministers, Kabimba, Kambwili (what a name), Nsanda will tear our lovely country apart. This is a failed state !
Where is the Government Authority when all this is happening ?Kwena ichalo chaonaika pamulandu waba kaponya. If this is true then it’s very very sad indeed. It appears we have lost direction under the current governance .Its a shame to read about this on daily basis.
The Sata/Mugabe association is not good for Zambia. The mentality of ZANU-PF thugs grabbing land has been rubbed on to PF thugs. Zambians made a very big mistake by giving power to a party of kaponyas.
wow!! all these things are happening and the government just seat back and do nothing!! we need to a fresh anointing
Anarchy at its worst!
The situation is a catch 22. The unruly violent cadres are what makes pf. The solution is what their leader has threatened…dissolve parliament and call fresh general elections.
Who is tasked to deal with cadres in the party structure? PF has to step up in this department, other departments are doing very well,we can see and wish them well and a disciplined last quarter of the year.
This is the ‘drip-drip’ of the break-down of law and order. This is how the slippage into failed statehood presents. Cadres wielding matchetes disrupt opposition rally , and everyone shrugs it off. Party cadres attack an MP in a police station during a bye – election, and the police turn a blind eye; a party cadre discharges a firearm in public and no arrest is effected; party cadres are enlisted into a Wynter’s posse to go and mock the ACC, and we all pretend it never happened; party cadres harrass HH in Kasama and we would rather look away, suddenly there are semi nude party cadres running amock at Parliament, in all our streets, at State house and we express surprise. What a pleasant surprise. The Kabimba brigade is on the loose. The cobra is on leave. Pass the doochie . Donchi…
he has failed let him just dissolve parliament not just ending at making treats about it.
Were he to have the courage to dissolve parliament, the man will go down in history as having achieved zilch. All those things he thought he would accomplish in 90 days wouldnt have been achieved. Not even the constitution which by now could have been signed, sealed and delivered. Nay! too big a task to accomplish. Good Lord!
Savages! Savages! Savages! The same type who lynch a mental patient, who’s been going around proclaiming hes Christ.
Surely if we are civilized, we would be protecting + offering help, & sanctuary to ones less fortunate like – “Christ of the Copperbelt”
This Country has Decayed, & is being run By P.F BROWN SHIRTS, remember Hitler?
DEMOCRACY IS DEAD IN ZAMBIA, i’m Afraid!
Shimwitwa you talk sense.Do we need an expartrate president.it seems government takuli..
This is a Zimbabwean tactic HEMS learnt from Mugabe. Unleashing terror. He has now formed an army of cadres to use to unleash on enemies. You guys keep blaming wrong people. Where is HEMS in all this? Why can’t he stop it?
Zambia in the next three years will be a disaster under the PF administration. Ba PF (Patriotic Failures) ba kaponya with the Big Kaponya at State House, could you be honest enough to define the avenue you would like to drive this country to. We are tired of your nonsensical acts because you are a big shame to the nation. What direction has Zambia been taken to under these thugs ? Even listening to News from the Zambian Broadcasting Corporation is share waste of time because everything they talk/ report about belong to the dustbin. Useless cadres as well as a useless government – stupid.
thats wat u get for putting un educated people in office who dont even understand the law,to them violence the only way.claiming sum thing which they dont evn legally own.shame they want white color jobs with out qualifications…ignorant…….s
I dont see an end to this unbelivable character of the so called cadres. How can the cadres stop this rubish when even the educated ministers are busy fighting everyday exchanging words instead of concetrating on developmental projects. Come to the copperbelt and just see how the mininig industry have collapsed.Chingola is finished, all the contracters have been frustrated and their contracts terminated by KCM resulting in the loss of thousands of job. KCM is leaping and the employees are not happy. I expect our honorable ministers to unite and address real isssues. Even in a home where there is poverty and disunity you cannot find peace.
You remove subsidies from the staple food and you remove fuel subsidies on the reasoning that there are very few people who benefit from fuel (PF statement) then you go and procure 1000 buses to give to the youth supposedly as empowerment (Panji Kaunda in today’s LT news) this thinking by the PF is sad to say the least. Clearly this is a third even fourth world Govt. We are all concerned for our mother land. PF cadres looting the resources of someone working who is working to make ends meet. God help us. If it is proven that they are PF cadres then PF should bear the cost of the damage. More over, coz of the anarchy caused by PF we need legislation to make sure all members of political parties carry paid up membership cards otherwise they should be charged as criminals and not cardes.
I almost agreed with u anti pf but l can’t because the cadre phenomen is found in all parties. Even in upnd they will rise. Dis will continue till poverty is eradicated. It is de more reason why these idi ots want the resignition of kabimba .
Who is tasked with cadre management in this PF.he has to change strategy he is currently off course.Mr president give direction and consult widely to avoid half baked decisions.
I dont know about you guys but please am tired of all the nonsense coming from these PF cadres. We all voted and put PF into power, but we have gone back to work and earn our honest living. What makes them think because there are PF cadres they will grab what is not theirs and just get away with it. What message are we sending to the opposition. Mr President you need to take charge these cadres are making our party unpopular and its one thing after the other. Has someone gone crazy and is fanning all these unruly behaviour. If this is not a clear case of playing right into the enemy’s hands i dont know what is. Lwenu very soon all this will be the campaign attacks of the opposition and you will not be able to defend yourselves.
