Republic of Zambia
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services

STATEMENT BY HON. PONISO NJEULU, MP, DEPUTY MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES ON MEDIA REPORTS THAT HE HAS RESIGNED FROM HIS POSITION
AS DEPUTY MINISTER

I refer to the news article in The Post newspaper of 5th October, 2013 entitled “Chungu counsels opposition MPs quitting Government,” in which I am cited as one of the opposition Members of Parliament who has resigned their position as Deputy Minister in the Patriotic Front Government.

I hereby dismiss the said media report as untrue.

I wish to make it categorically clear that I have not, and I have no intention to resign from my position as Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services in the Patriotic Front Government.

I am a loyal and patriotic citizen who is ready to serve my beloved country Zambia in any capacity as deemed necessary by the Head of State in line with the Republican Constitution.

I reiterate my loyalty and commitment to His Excellency Mr Michael Chilufya Sata, President of the Republic of Zambia, the people of Sinjembela and indeed the nation at large, that I remain true to the service of mother Zambia in my capacity as Member of Parliament for Sinjembela and Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services.

  1. Mr. Njeulu, there’s a red dot on your forehead. Or in other words, you are undoubtedly in the crosshairs….

  2. Really, it takes three days (!) to set the record straight that this guy is still at work? What – did no one even notice he is still around?

Great….. and how much are we paying the “Honourable” Njeulu in salary and allownces for this outstanding performance?

  3. “I reiterate my loyalty and commitment to His Excellency Mr Michael Chilufya Sata, President of the Republic of Zambia, the people of Sinjembela and indeed the nation at large, that I remain true to the service of mother Zambia in my capacity as Member of Parliament for Sinjembela and Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services”—-Poniso Njeulu.

You sound very guilty. You are also adding to the confusion now. Tekeni bola panshi ba Poniso

  4. Njeulu, you are still young. remember elections are coming. Which party will adopt you? Long life politicians, including president Sata, never allowed anybody to use them.

  5. Deputy ministers serving in PF tym is now to leave the sinking boat please .
PF is divided into 3 groups
President Sata and d wife with no agenda
    President Kabimba with Guy Scott,Masebo,Simuusa,Meembe,Chenda,Masumba,Munkombwe,Wina
    President GBM with Nsanda,Yamfwa,Yaluma,Chikwanda,Kapata,Luo

  6. njeulu, even your name sounds like that of a kind of lizard that does not have a home but just wonders wherever there are insects to pick. well pick those ‘insect’ really quick because there will soon run out in that sinking island called pf. its an honour to be redeemed from cleaning toilets

  7. I have just realized that majority, probably 98% of bloggers particularly on this site are blogging from outside zambia. some of them are such 1diots that they blindly rally behind HEMCS, thinking he is still as popular as he was in 2011. you economic refugees should ask us who are right here in the country steering the much needed but delayed REAL CHANGE in 2016 with haleisa haleisa. akupipeni abasungu uko bane. ati sebana wikute advocates. enjoy it

    • @Matipa, please refrain from insulting fellow bloggers. it’s not good at all. Every job is important, Sir. Most Zambians in the diaspora are doing great things, most of which are supporting our ailing economy back home. As we blog, let’s post issues from which other people can learn.

    • @In fact current it is not even in Zambia itself. The person behaves like someone Zambian that they all street kids after seeing those kid at mandahill. The majority of people who live our of Zanbia live very well. We Professor, Dr. Nurses, Geneticist, all over the world.
      Do insult anyhow anywhere anyperson

    • @Matipa

I actually think the bloggers are an influence just by voicing their opinions via LT and ZWD. Haven’t you seen politicians reacting & responding to comments on online media?

We also have the advantage of not being afraid of a knock in the early hours of the morning, or our homes/computers bugged, or internet access restricted because we hold opposing views.

And trust me, you have no idea how well established Zambians are in the diaspora. Maybe in the early years when emigration first started there were a significant number wiping butts – not so any more!

We are abroad, rich and an influence in the running of both our motherland Zambia as well as our adopted countries!
P/S We are not the enemy.

    • I bet you this chap (matipa), who clearly has his brain in the ‘matipa’ from his rear end, is constantly begging for money for beer and talk time.

  8. Such fools like Njeulu and you call him an MP, very sad indeed. Even his remarks defines that of a hungry striken person who is ready to take anything even his faeces. Such characters can’ t serve in the US- Congress where real ideas and issues play the role in debates. Zambia has got no MPs and no parliament and it may take another 200 years from now for the Zambian people to a real functioning parliament/ congress . Almost every current government official or parliametarian is just there to serve himself/ herself and not the Zambian masses – bufi, ki bu hata, nkubeja. Bamambala they just use the poor Zambians so that they can get what they want. Ati serving the people of Sinjembela and Zambians at large – stupid ***** whom are you trying to cheat ?

  9. This MP is still young and lack of principles is killing his political career. Its unfortunate that young men and women are too selfish and there is need to make a change to this.
Njeulu WILL regret this some day.

  10. This MP is still young and lack of principles is killing his political career. Its unfortunate that SOME young men and women are too selfish and there is need to make a change to this. They are ready to do anything for money i.e. sell out their principles and integrity.
Njeulu WILL regret this some day.

  11. Shem on districting information portraying Minister’s exodus to nowhere.PF please put house in order and keep your eyes on the ball, planned developmental issues being awaited anxiously.

  12. I remember Njeulu coming to our Radio station some time back and refusing to be featured on air to explain issues surrounding subsidies claiming that other people were coming to do so. Up to now, we are yet to see anyone. When some people say they do not know him, I understand because even his appearance looks like one Sangoma from Nyasaland! Ati ministers…my foot!

  13. Take stock of most of our Hon. Members of Parliament’s educational background, then you will understand why Zambia is still so backward. Go to the Parliament website and see for yourself. You will be perplexed that most of them, Poniso inclusive, fall short of minimum educational standards in today’s world. They get a lot of money but fail to upgrade the educational standards. Its a scandal, for lack of a better word.

  14. these are the chaps leaking information from govt. if sata doesn’t know these opposition mps he thinks are with him, they are the ones destroying him. they belong to the opposition and there they are.
