And yet these guys are not doing anything for North Western Province which is producing all this money!
YAWN!!!!
North Western as not yet over taken Copper belt as the largest copper producer
but has the potential to be the largest producer.
Does it really matter where the university is built?
Those yellow wheel barrows are nice, I hope we will not see them in villages transporting meal.
Let them do it whilst they are in power. There will be a new government in 2016, which will consider North Western Province. This tribalist government does not care about North WESTERN Province.
“Nasa replies, ‘In 15 minutes – feed the monkey’.”
Makasa University – pics of same building from different directions? Well, an above average quality of workmanship by Zambian standards.
(S)ata you are mad. I hope the lot here get the joke!
Tholosi just put your ass down!!!
paul mushindo unversity!!!,,how wants a degree written mushindo on it???
Does PF govt know what mushindo means??
That’s a matter you should bring to your elected officials. Am sure you have them.
@Zila
What is your point?
OMG…. nice names guys! I know who initiated those names, Disaster K.
My advice to PF government, build an international university on the outskirts of livingstone, you will never go wrong, students from all over will pay heavily to build their careers in a solitude place with such nature and wonder, invest heavily at all costs to hire both experts and highly qualifield lecturers and professors, wow….. i know this sounds like dreaming but it can be realised with a responsible government, besides you asked for developemental suggestions right? here is one from me,if you want to inject money in the country, counter attack all areas, generate funds from tourism, mining and investement, clean your house as well, Zambians shouldnt die poor, that should be any leaders dream!
Educated Mwanawasa, Banda and Chiluba never did anything to improve education infrastructures but Kaunda and Sata, with relatively lower education levels have given us universities. To be a good president is not about how many degres you have. Bravo Mr President. Who knows, before 2016 all the Provinces will have Universities. God gives a good leader at an appointed time. We thank the Lord for giving us President Sata.
Take your heart MMD did nothing but to put money in their pockets western province is on plan think of it Just two years some influstracture are have feature to believe that they are working
I wonder where is architectural professionalism in Zambia? These universities look like properly constructed primary schools. Most people wouldn’t think these are university structures. I thought our new universities would look better than our old unis.q
PF is working
Mwechipuba mwe
@Mopao..Kekekeke how can you tell the Diva ati “mwechipuba mwe”… so hilarious.
Ok PF fyaume !!! Haters where are you at ?
@nostradumas
do you know what mushindo means??.. LT should have censored the mushindo word!!
@Ndobo, I didn’t see any Mushindo on pictures. Who can ever to see or simply read word Mushindo.
DONCHI……….!!!!!!!!!
Our development projects will ensure our re election
I have a few questions and observations; firstly are the two universities being constructed in Muchinga Province? What criteria was used to build the two universities in one province while none was optedd for in North-Western, Western or even Eastern (assumption is there is one being constructed in the Southern)? Although erecting the structures is the easy bit (despite increasing the debt massively), what policy is the government undertaking in recruiting quality staff to lecture in the intended courses? If these are government institutions and opening is next year, did government factor the new staff and salaries in the budget or it will be a case of borrowing to fund an oversight? Staff training is a long term endeavour, hope high calibre staff will be recruited.
In your dreams fool.
you will be voted for by those who come from that province
but they are working in one province airport, universities and hotels.
There is a University being built in Barotseland.
Mulungushi University, not completed to international standards, Nkruma university is just a joke, even CBU that has been long is just wastage going by the infrastructure. So where did the money come from for the two new universities. is this prioritising
Zambia is taking the right road to infrastructure development. Go on President Sata…
Jealousy down well done PF.This what I had said that HE will leave a mark.We need infrastructure development is needed mwebantu United Kingdom nets billions of pounds THROGH Universities.PF wil carry the day come 2016
PF and ba SATA the mean business
Good move PF and Sata. Show them how development is done.
Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia
You guys should get out of your little towns and travel more. Those building are not even comparable to some high school infrastructure seen in other countries.I’ve never even heard of a politician abroad getting political mileage over infrastructure that is a basic right of the people.I guess Pf can easily convince some of you to buy sand in a desert! gullible Zambians!
All well and good but at what price? Have you had a look at the current debt mountain? And its growing. Its all great increasing the graduate pool but if there are no jobs to go to, we may be creating another problem unless both public and private sector work towards job creation.
Iwe Ex Moma, Gullible Zambians? Speak for yourself and relatives! You can be unique or whatever but not to every Zambian.
Ex Lumpen…you sound like a real Lumpen! you’ve made lots of noise but I don’t get the gist of what you’re saying…just like back in the day on campus!
@7.1 ex-moma I don’t know where you are but am here in the US and politicians do the same. They get political mileage by telling people they’ll fix Healthcare, education, jobs. Right now the Obama administration is doing just that. Starting road construction projects and repair work on roads and bridges. What are you talking about? It’s all political. Who do you think starts these projects? It’s the politicians. They campaign on what they are going to do and they do it or try to do it. Whichever. Ati you should get out of your little towns and travel more. My God. Mwafuma mu Zambia yesterday today you call your fellow Zambian gullible! If you had said they should have constructed one big university instead of two you could have made more sense. Not the nonsense you have put here.
Zambian Namayo glad you left your little town but in the US there are names like Rockerfeller ,JP Morgan,Andrew Carnegie,Vanderbilt,Henry Ford….Those guys built the greatest companies and infrastructure in their time.No politician ever claimed mileage over their success.Lets come to our time people like Bill Gates,Warren buffet,Steve Jobs….I haven’t heard Obama getting mileage over the great things these men have done…However Healthcare policy, education policy yes govt can claim mileage over those..Health and education can not be completely privatised because the unwashed masses need them as a basic human right. So whats the PF policy on health and education?
@7.6 ex-moma I won’t say all that I want to say without confirmation that you are Zambian. So I will only say three things: 1. Am not a politician nor do I support any political party or entity, 2. The United States got it’s independence in 1776, 3. Zambia got her independence in 1964.
Zambian Namayo Ofcourse I’m Zambian. But how to prove it online …here goes.. I grew up reading Mulenga and Jelita books.Grade 7 exams included special paper 1 and 2. Shopped at ZCBC as a kid, loved licking Kiora(spelling?) ,took Jolly juice to school…. Anyway I agree that the US has had hundreds of years to perfect democracy so we shouldn’t even compare.I’m not a politician either but love my country and it pains me to see whats going on there.Zambians are smart but the smart people are not in the system and those who try to be, like Prof Chirwa are spewed out.But we shall overcome some day……
X-Moma.
Can u compare these bulidings to those of Nigerian Universities we see in their movies? Unless they show us secondary schools. This is good work by PF. Muchinga Province was too backward. Next, let PF consider two universities in Noth Western and Luapula Provinces, Eastern as well.
mj unfortunately I do not watch nigerian movies and besides it would be silly of me to compare what I see in movies to real life…however there is more to a university than a building. You need lecturers of high calibre,a strong research department, equipment, libraries etc
Muchinga province buildings ar seen, palabana only artistic drawings. Nepotism at work, zambia is bigger than Muchinga hence development should be distributed evenly.
One at a time my bro.
You don’t develop in a single leap.
good work pf we shall vote for you again
You will be shocked in 2016, or actually before that!
1) I can’t lift an umbrella on behalf of someone else.
2) The hostels design is a replica of unza new res hostels, copy and paste
3) Who was Robert Makasa?
4) Where is Chinsali?
Ya ! in n/western Govt development is abit slow, but we have alot of consolation from the huge mining projects, Govt. will come to my home town soon,am reliably informed.Good work PF.
Because you chaps like funny jobs that do not require university education. That is the reason.
Mwi kileyatu ba chinyama
Wow awesome this is really good news….
Picture 12 to 16 – `Paul Mushindo University`???????? What a name!!!!!!!! The second name means something in most Zambian tribes.
You’re dawn right @Kanyengambeta. But alas, even your name somehow means something funny in some Zambian languages. Kanyenga….. mbeta? Wow, what a name!
manje the names of the universities especially the paul mushindo university.yaba
Laugh Out Loud!
Kuma mayo!
We dnt care who started this project …we all know this project started while pf was in opposition. We give u credit for completing the project..We need more projects to b done thsn fighting olways..its a draw back to development
next election, kuyabebele wetha u like it or not
Only in your dreams mate only in your dreams-mmd will never come back -it will remain in eastern province until RB dies and upnd can not win the bemba lands impossible
It’s the power of numbers that matter rember the Govt has an advantage as well don’t forget Sata is a seasonal politician
Mfumu this University is between Lusaka and chisamba its not in muchinga province
UBUFI iwe JP.
That University you are referring to is not govt. It is St. Eugene University for the catholics.
Paul Mushindo is in Lubwa Chinsali, Muchinga Province
Robert Makasa is in Chinsali, Muchinga Province
Palabana University is in Lusaka East, Lusaka Province – Nkomeshya`s chiefdom
Chalimbana University is in Lusaka East, Lusaka Province – Nkomeshya`chiefdom
This is a University for Muchinga. What has Muchinga province done to deserve so much at the expense of other provinces. Yes the PF Govt is working in Muchinga Province no doubt about it.
Jean Kapata watch out we will chase you in North Western Provine like you are trying to chase Kabimba. Be careful with that group, they are using you.
its a new province idio.t kivuyi
@Monk Police; It is a new Province? Is it the reason it needs two universities? Do the ‘old provinces’ have two universities? Where are the universities in Eastern, Southern, Luapula, Western, North Western Province? Stop justifying discrimination!
PF Government at work
Really???? Ba Ethel!!!
Iwe Mopao, your psychology of diminishing others is now diminishing you!
Yes, PF is working and I will vote for them in 2016. Yaaba!
I wonder if the PF goverment is executing the construction of civil servants accommodation and offices in Choma with the same vigour after moving the provincial headquarters from Livingstone to Choma? Could we see the pictures of the works please?
Good to see the universities but in all fairness, PF is very tribal. Why two universities in one province which is not yet the economical hub of the nation when Solwezi or NWP which is feeding the nation does not have one?
I am sure you are not Bemba but I like your comment/observation.
Mopao the ain’t government campaigner! We know who you are vying for and it will be another earth shattering loss for you and your candidate in 2016!
@MundiaM, are you sure? OK.
Ati wako ni wako….so all the development is going to Sata’s home village? Development is good, but when it is so blatant that a certain part of the country is being favoured over others for obvious reasons, it becomes disgusting! This man Sata has no morals or self respect! First he had the audacity to say he did not increase his own salary, but parliament did! We all know parliament is toothless….they are just there to collect checks. Sata runs parliament, as well as every other government wing. Everyone waits for orders from “above” whatever the funck that means!!
Disgusted former Citizen of the Great Country of Zambia
Dont worry brother/sister. Mudala ali ku matelo. He will soon be answerable to the Creator for him tribalism, alongside other evil vices as lies, criminality, dochi kubeba, corruption, selfishness, etc.
I feel for you, @Msoro Mission. Its the general feeling in Zambia right now.
You are wrong about his home village. His father was a village headman at Chitulika in Mpika. How can his home village be Chinsali now? The concern should be on having two institutions in the same area. Spread them out. This is not just about education. It’s about creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
But Nkomeshya or Chongwe will have two? What about that?
MUSHINDO…..!!!? its a big insult in one language. Will be difficult to pronounce by them. Change it…!!!
The name will be changed just like the the Gabon Disaster National Stadium was. Remember?
When I assume power in 2016, I will build a university in each province. Apart from Copperbelt and Lusaka provinces, Only one University will be supported by government. If a province has two, the other one will run on the private university models and staff will be paid for by the tuition fees from paying students.
GOOD REASONING! BUT PF GUYS CAN’T SEE SENSE IN THIS MY DEAR.
UNIVERSITY IN THE RURAL AREAS ARE THE BEST. NO POLLUTION, CHEAP FOR LOCALS,LESS S E X, COMMITMENT BY LEARNERS, S E X U A LLY TRANSMITTED MARKS LIKE AT CBU AND UNZA ARE ELIMINATED ETC
PF UBUKOOPO REMOVER
THIS IS INDEED A WORKING GOVERNMENT.
UNIVERSITIES AND STADIUMS IN JUST TWO YEARS!
I AM NOW CONVINCED THAT NEXT WILL BE LUAPULA
UNIVERSITY. THEN …..
WHEN PF TALKED ABOUT UNIVERSITIES,
I TOOK IT AS A BIG JOKE.
KEEP IT UP, WHICH PLATFORM WILL UPND
AND OTHERS USE IN 2016?
AGE PLATFORM, SATA WILL BE TOO OLD TO STAND IN COURT AFTER 2021. HELP HIM TO KEEP AWAY
So there will be two universities in Chinsali? This is the mother of all regionalism and favouritism. What shameless tribalists these people are!!!!!
Only learned people will appreciate EDUCATION and its IMPORTANCE. Its a Professor doing the inspections and not CHIKWELETE or WILLY NSANDA, DAVIES MWILA who sweats whenever he is asked to connect 4 English words. For example football, playing, boys, are…he would say Football boys playing are! lol PF MCC in charge of Labour, such calibre sure? Strikes can finish
@Mutwe, I will disagree with you. What has being a professor got to do with inspecting civil engineer works? I bet you dont even know Wilombe’s speciality. Just because on is a Professor doesnt make him a site engineer. He has no idea whether the site levels are correct and say the drainage systems are fine. All that some one needed to do is check that the works are on time and ask pertinent questions. If I am not mistaken, if this is the Wilombe of MMW then he is a lawyer. And what has that got to do with construction. The institution hasn’t started offering its intended services.
Paul Mushindo university ?! Tensele ishi nomba bane ? University baipalanya mukushinda ?
Thought so as well but then my mind is so dirty!
MUSHINDO SIMPLY MEANS SINGLE FOOT STEP
Federalism will attend to these prejudices!
This is happening for real…God be praised I never thought to live this day to see such be done…we have come along way….mother Zambia you awesome
Funny indeed. The Kapaso holding the umbrella is the one who is in the shade.
Well spotted. Clever Kapaso
pipo whats wrong with developing muchinga province? its a new province and it needs development. everyone can go to that uni wen finished. its not only for the pipo of muchinga…
Two Universities in Chinsali being built at the same time, well i hope its only the people of Chinsali who will vote in 2016.
What about Chongwe with Palabana and Chalimbana Universities?
I have now seen where our money is going. The location of the Universities does not matter, there are for all Zambians. A Bemba can not be given a place at those Universities if he/she is not qualified leaving a Tonga who is qualified.
Iwe Mfumu you are very funny. Are saying if there are no jobs we should keep the masses uneducated? Education is important wether it gives a job or not. Get real!
I am being real @Vantage Point. University education is not for everyone. The UK tried upgrading polytechniques into University to award degrees in Tony Blairs time. Its back fired. They have now realised that vocational training is important. You can not have everyone get university education. However, do not get me wrong. We do need universities given we had only four or so for a growing population, in the relevant fields. My worry is that you train these armies of graduates for no jobs at the end of it all. Of what benefit is that? They can not all be entreprenuerers.
The Chitimukulu Henry Sosala has been ridiculed and insulted by the PF government.I don’t think Bembas of his high calibre will vote PF even if they built an exact replica of Havard in their backyard. I think our Bemba brothers and sisters are smart and need more than a few 2 storey buildings to convince them in 2016.
The common man does care about those issues of chiefs. Unless those related to the thrones. What a common man, who is a critical voter, wants is a good road, fertiliser, a job opportunity even as dakaboy during construction, a clinic nearby, to be able to afford a trousers and chitenge for madam and toddlers. Such simple stuff. Not whether Sosala is what have you… no no my friend. Common people care less about such.
i wonder the type of blogging this is…you people you don’t analyze issues and only yap whatever comes into your mouth because if your brain were involved in analyzing issues you should be asking yourselves questions like:
1.who will be enrolled into these universities/ is it bemba’s only or any Zambian citizen as well as foreigners?
2. will the government only employ in tribal lines on who should be managing the universities..?
3. is this infrastructural development benefiting only the provinces or its for all Zambians.?
the list is endless……
I always think that we have think tanks in the diaspora kanshi mulinkoko most of you.
you sound like Tasa’s son. were build two universities in one location. why not build one on the other side of the country? All we see is one sided development, come 2016 Tasa will regret the day he was born. 2017 all Pa maFi ministers will be lining up at Lusaka magistrate complex
@ Mopao..,and @Simangulungwa, you are very shallow thinkers, who told you that you can only appreciate development when it is at your door step? that’s being nepotist or tribelist. PF has just ashamed you pet tribelists. And you @ X-moma where have you ever seen this kind of University in Zambia? learn to appreciate where it is due, Zambia need to develop regardless of ones political affiliation. PF shame them by building more and more infrastructures.
Good job here.
this is as it should be.Deeds not words.
COME 2016,
UPND AND MMD SHOULD JUST
AS WELL FORGET ABOUT THE
LUAPULA VOTE!
This ia a working Government, Deeds not theories and meaningless economic statistics.
Wow,why so much selfishness for a fo0lish province? My Tz friend here tells me that Mujinga in swahili means a fo0l.
Don’t show foolishness here. Muchinga and Mujinga are two different words. On internet if you exchanged just two words you aint gonna get what you want.
Which country does not borrow even the giant countries owe billions
Rubbish .
Robert Makasa University construction started in 2008. Give credit where its due. Thumbs up RB and Micheal for continuing. see it to the end, dont behave like FTJ doing away with all perceived KK programmes.
These projects were started with MMD. These are the same pictures MMD used when campaigning. I would be comfortable to remove PF from the title.
are u sure these are universities or just some college blocks
credit should go to RB. This structure was started in unip era and abandoned. it was to be a police college, same structure with CBU hostels. RB revived it with his massive infrastructure development and it was to be science and mathematics university. the RB gov also engaged the Zambian contractor. Mr.sata has just named it……………
Sometimes i wonder the Caliber of bloggers expressing this or that, location doesn’t matter much we are all Zambians and these are for us all. Livingstone has the best International Airport in Zambia but it is not just for Tongas, i landed their and enjoyed the comfort and services as a non Tonga so where is the problem with Universities? Lusaka has a lot of colleges and university no one says they are for Solis and other tribes around. Southern Province has all the largest Hydro Stations but they supply the nation as a whole. Stop thinking tribal whenever you see something. We are one Zambia one Nation!
Good point
The way to think and live as one Zambia!!
AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS TYPE OF REGIONALISM. IMAGINE NKRUMAH HAS PRODUCED 4TH YEARS DEPLOYED THIS YEAR BUT TRANSFORMATION IS STILL RHETORIC. LECTURERS ARE STILL GETTING PRIMARY COLLEGE SALARIES WHAT A SHAME
Why build 2 universities in Chinsali??? I dont get this, why not build one in Chinsali and the other one in a different province or town?
What about Palabana and Chalimbana in Chongwe, yet so near UNZA and all the private ones in Lusaka?
Poor quality infrastructure which will not stand the test of time, that quality should be for Secondary schools not university. Busy using paint to create the illusion that its good quality when two years down the line they will be asking government for money to put up a fresh coat if paint. UNZA and CBU is the quality of infrastructure they should have continued with, not this joke. Many Zambian businessmen have homes that look like that. Be serious, and think if generations to come, there is life beyond 2016. Just name those as colleges
Wow I remember this MMD Mulakupikwa University of Science and Technology. So it has not move much. Well at least ba PF have something to show!
Good work, but point of correction it is not the PF government, it is the Zambian government. Zambia needs to do away with some of these titles aimed at praising the party. The government consists of people that do not belong to party.
Good observation. I was wondering! the the 98% completion with so much left to be done, number of students to be enrolled not mentioned any where, it would be nice to just hint even in the captions of pictures, may be that is why it is called in pictures we do not need to know the important information such as residence halls, lecturers’ accommodation etc. It is like both learners and lecturers will be coming from Chinsali suburbs to teach and go back?
Solid Development you can look at! Go PF!!!! This is what we want to see, some people are full of S h i t , they wont admit anything good they see because their petty minds and thoughts have been offended. We don’t need you to develop Zambia, go hang yourselves!
For those who may not know “Mushindo” is “anu.s” in some Zambian tribe. Hence Govt should consider changing the university’s name, as was the case with the “National Disaster Stadium”.
me am very upset honestly pipo how can someone nem a university ati Paul Mushindo university in a christian nation. is ths gvt runing out of nems or wat?
The practical way to put an end to Scramble for University Education in Zambia is through what we are witnessing from a Government that is less than 3 years in power. MMD was in power for 20 years but never constructed even a single University. There! now comes a party for practical Men and women 5 Universities under construction within a fraction of 2 years. You have all our support for this. We have not mentioned Hospitals, Clinics, Schools, Roads and many more infrastructural works across the country. As iam writing the entire country is in the dust emanating from the various construction works going on across the country, Zambia in the Dust!
WHY is the naming of national institutions only a priveledge of one man? let the local people through their munincipal councils participate please! and it is not only politicians and chiefs that need be named, there are other individuals like church leaders academicians who have made a mark on the welfare of the nation in one way or another, Iam thinking of the late Bishops Elias mutale, Mazombwe and lately Reverend Foston Sakala of Fodep and indeed many other names. I live in a city whose naming of roads clearly tells you that the people must have been very religious at one time(this is not a Christian nation by declaration). Why for example should we have a levy mwanawasa stadium, levy mall, levy bridge!!!! and we still have Chiluba and RB to name! and sata himself!
I thought Chinsali was in Zambia!Demons do not know.Just one example. The gvt has been giving land in settlement schemes.l have seen pipo from 0 corners of this country going to Muchinga pce.ln short dis z how Zambia is. Not wat u demons are saying.
Robert Makasa fought for your independence.
MwineZed well-spoken, please teach these guys. It is pathetic.
Please PF keep investing in education cos the ignorance in the comments here are quite frightening. I sense a lot of uneducated and frustrated people let loose on pcs. Most of you live in diaspora with nothing to show for what a pathetic bunch. PS; a university can be built any where in the country. You go to uni to study not to go and waste your precious time. As for Cindy why build a university in a nature reserve? Good luck to you and the people that liked your comment . Yes you’ve demonstrated why you should be going back to school. Okay even knowing about wildlife conservation is not rocket science. Please stop embarrassing yourselves ha!
Zambia’s budget is just about US$8 billion and there is not much a leader can do to transform the country in a year, or in five. Actually the country needs opposition leaders to accept defeat after elections and work with the government as opposition. They have to resume politics when elections are close by, otherwise the country looses by these fights.
A country’s economic development is measured by its gross domestic income (GDP) and the per capita income. GDP for Zambia is about US$20 billion, while the per capita income, that is the total GDP divided by country population, is about US$1,700. Can the MMD say what it did to raise the per capita income, and what it can if given another chance? NO
One can talk about reducing poverty, but there must be a good plan and political…
Tribalists! Yes they are (PF), money is coming from North Western Province to educate others, what a shame!
Days are numbered, we shall see
its you who is a tribalist. we are one, that why you will not lead, we are watching you as zambians.
You need to appreciate waht others are doing, not just talk nonse in condemning what you can not even do yourself, just building your own shelter you can not. The late President Sata, had a vision for the nation. Ushitasha, mwana wandoshi, natumimona.
You need to appreciate even though you do not like the person or party, that maturity, what is wrong is wrong and what is good is good, you know that deep down your hearts.
And yet these guys are not doing anything for North Western Province which is producing all this money!
YAWN!!!!
North Western as not yet over taken Copper belt as the largest copper producer
but has the potential to be the largest producer.
Does it really matter where the university is built?

@MundiaM, are you sure? OK.
