    • I cant stand and don’t quiet understand people who celebrate independence

You celevrate Independence, really? When you were rightfully colonised by the whiteman you were a better country, there were better schools, UNZA was born, The police were respected.

Well since you gained independence you thought you could make it without the British, how wrong you have been, Look at the inflation numbers, look at the debt, state of th Hospitals, life span, I can go and on and on
And now go and get a picture of How zambia was in 1930’s , Which country would you rather be in?

My Independence message to all you powemongers is that this is a time to reflect and REGRET. As why people who reside In diapsora generally do better
      Independence was a catastrophic mistake
      Admit it. 50 years of…

    • Mushota you have no clue about evolution of systems. It takes wars, suffering etc to refine systems. Even where you are, dont tell me, there were no trees in Scotland as you see it. They were there but were cut down for medicine and charcoal which is where we are now in Africa. America underwent so many revolutions that spuned through civil wars before the industrial revolution. Now you can go there and eat toast, bacon and baked beans for breakfast but you dont know quite yet. France experienced the famous French revolution, Russia, the Tsar etc. Its a process and takes time. Sacrifice for your country now which you might leave poor for the betterment of my nepiews you are making with Nick and most important your grand grand children.

  1. I recall when i was that age waiting for a cup of tea and bread at primary school during independence day girls in green union with a white colar while boys in grey kaki shorts…………happy independence day. Twalumba, Twatotela, Zikomo, Taonga, chomene, Busilozi kaufela

    • Saulosi is indeed George Chellah. For the curious mind google “Salousi” tag Lusaka Times and read the comments he has made up to this day. You will easily catch his diploma English that we see in Sata’s press releases.

    • This is SAD, Sata still on 35 comments, if you go to HH he is on 205 comments. Even Pastor Mumba is scoring higher on internet comments/polls.

  2. BUT THIS INDEPENDENCE HISTORY IS INCOMPLETE WHERE DOES IT LEAVE GUY SCOTT.WHERE WAS GUY SCOTT DURING INDEPENDENCE STRUGGLE?WHEN DID HE COME TO ZAMBIA?WHO BROUGHT HIM?

    • Never mind Guy Scott – wasn’t Ukwa the one betraying the same heroes he is paying homage to today to the colonisers?

    • Scots father founded what is today zambia daily mail and stood with the Africans to fight colonialism just like simon zukas

    • You are an *****. Guy Scott is 68 years old and was born in Llivingstone of scottish parents just like Dr Kenneth Kaunda was born of Malawian parents in Chisali. Get real stupid *****.

  3. I would never have imagined that KK, once respected Father of the Nation, would be reduced to a cheering Undisciplined PF Cadre. I weep 4 mother Zambia.

    • KK is a celebrity now he will attend functions like this one,old pipo feel loved and highlyrecognized when govt calls on them, but as usual hate overrides in backwards citizens like you…always looking for the negative aspect of anything you see.Take your grandfather out over the weekend he will appreciate it,dont lock him up while you and your kids dash to manda hill..

  4. Pa zed kaya, you have been to zambia recently that’s why you are just ranting like someone suffering drug induced psychosis. There are a lot of developments going on . Sometimes when you are not in Zambia you read from the online news you feeling this is exactly what is happening. Roads, health centres. Schools, Lusaka is going to have ring roads . Dual carriage Ndola – Kitwe . So what developments do want in two years that never happened in 20yrs

    • Somebody told us that the development that did not take place in 20 years (10 of which he was part of govt) would happen in 90 days. By my reckoning that should have been somewhere at the beginning of 2012, now that we are at the end of 2013 without any tangible developments except more money for some and slush funds and awards for their concubines I think I have a right to wonder whether or not I was lied to.

  5. PF is doing fine it only needs a bit of touch ups at organization of the party and coordinating statements from party members and Govt.Well done.

  6. @ A son of a beach! U’re truly a son of a beach! Surely the presence of KK @ Independence celebration makes him become a carder??? What a shallow dirty political minded chap!!!

  7. Title should read “President Sata opens PF rally celebrations” The rest of zambia has absolutely nothing to celebrate for especcially after massive price increases.

  8. Congratulations mother Zambia!
Do not give up the fight, liars will come and go.
Two yeares ago you fell down and lost your democracy, dust yourself up and look foward to a better tomorrow.
    This is just a challenge.
    You’re known for resilience
In multitudes you celebrated, but alas it a was a “democratic loss” on your part!
Stand up mother Zambia, dust yourself up
    Liars will come and go
    Freedom and democracy are twins
    Seek seek seek mother Zambia!

  9. ba enka lelo ifyakulanda fyamibula kukonkelafye imitengo manje! Hahaha. You guys are fantastic! Atleast you make my daily jokes.

  10. Chinyama you have made my day. Your response to sun of… is timely. I am sure once he got this message he would have taken his old people out for a day out. I would have responded more politely by telling to go and multiply.

  11. Happy independence day Republic of Zambia.Better to be poor, hungry and jobless in a free zambia than have all the goodies mushota is talking about yet exploited by an alien race on your own land.

  12. But ba Mushota ba so called Phd student you cannot distinguish between quiet and quite. The former is to remain silent in case Miss Mushota you did not know. I can see that you never went through proper formal education in Zambia if you cannot even make a distinction between such commonly used words. Please stop boasting about Phd which you clearly have not earned the right way because a Phd student should know how to spell. Read what you have written above and just count the many spelling mistakes madam. Ndiwe wa musebanya too much.
