President Michael Sata has commissioned the construction of the 360-million US Dollars new Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony Mr. Sata has told Acting Minister of Transport and Communications Yamfwa Mukanga that he wants less talk and more work on the facility. He also told China Gianxu the constructor that tangible results evident before the end of 2014. The construction of the airport will take 4 years before it is completed.

And President Michael Sata has cautioned China Jiangxi Corporation, the contractor engaged to reconstruct and expand Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, to finish the works before the end 2014 or risk being sent back to China.

Speaking during the laying of the foundation stone for the reconstruction and expansion of KK International Airport this afternoon, President Sata cautioned the contractor to adhere to the terms and conditions of the contract if they want to continue working in Zambia.

[pullquote]Dr. Kaunda said that some people are sick in thoughts and if President Sata pays attention to them, he will lose direction and fail to develop the nation.[/pullquote]

The Head of State also urged Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Zhou Yuxiao, to ensure that all Chinese contractors who have been contracted in the country speed up their respective works or risk being sent back to China for failing to adhere to terms and conditions of contracts.

Mr. Sata has since urged China Jiangxi Corporation to ensure that they do a quality job.

Speaking earlier, Chieftainess Nkomesha Mukamambo the second of the Soli people in Chongwe District appealed to President Sata to seriously ensure that his government introduces a national airline by next year.

The Traditional leader notes the urgent need for Zambia to have its own airline that will contribute significantly to the economic development of the country.

She has also appealed to Zambians to continue praying for President Sata so that he continues with the good works that he has done since coming into office in 2011.

And first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, has urged President Sata not to pay attention to criticism coming from the opposition political leaders but focus on developing the nation as promised in 2011.

Dr. Kaunda said that some people are sick in thoughts and if President Sata pays attention to them, he will lose direction and fail to develop the nation.

Dr. Kaunda said that the country will only succeed in development if Zambians rise above politics and support Mr. Sata’s works.

  1. Does this maggot have a degree in Civil Engineering? Where on earth does a $360m project get completed in a year? This is pure lunacy! Are all the materials that will be needed available in Zambia?

    • Sometimes its good to appreciate good things even if its coming from your rival (not enemy). This is for the good of the nation. Its for all Zambians to benefit, and of course non-Zambians.

    • @Concalves, you know how it is, the cost may have been inflated (Ukulyamo as is common now in Zambia – CORRUPTION). As if its normal, kanshi awee. But atleast if our airport is uplifted, it will be a good thing.

    • Iwe you cannot complete a $360m Airport project in a year. Its pure lunacy. If you force things the structure will start cracking up within one week of been handed over to you. Why are you in a rush? Why do you want to waste $360m on a rushed job? 50 years of independence and you people cant think straight. Sata’s barking is misplaced!

    • I hope this kaloba Sata is running around borrowing….. i hope this US Dollar 360million kaloba will effectuvely used without corruption to construct a proper airport.. AND Sata must have a plan in place on how to pay back ,,, not masobele na comedy

    • @Nubian
good point!!!!… but NO updates not even just notes, more people should die on that road before another steaming hot promise can be made…..,mushindo unversity also dead!!!

    • Concalves you are the biggest rotten magot because your insults are sickening.U are not cultured there is too much childish thinking in your rotten head.Give credit where and when its due and stop exhibiting foolishness in public

    • Conclaves. If you had researched more on the topic instead of insulting Sata you would have found out that there are 2 projects running in parallel. The one Sata was referring to is the facelift of the current airport which is being done at the same time as the building of the new terminal.

    • @Mopao
Yes we appreciate the effort but the key question is: is $360m sufficient to build an modern infrastructure to fufil the potential that comes with our position in the region? We are so central that all major international airlines will jump at the prospect of diverting flights from SA to Zambia.
This nonsense from Nkomesya about a national airline is more about pride than any real economic benefit for the nation. Let’s focus on real development and not costly ventures.

    • @Ndobo and Nubian,
I was recently in Zambia and can update that the Chingola/Kitwe dual carriage way is fully underway and looks like it will be done some justice.
Also the Ndola/Kitwe dual carriage is also under massive rehabilitation. They better do a good job there as that road was not a major priority!

    • What is good is just good no matter how you try to rubbish it. And this is one such terrific project for the nation that must be appreciated by all well meaning Zambians.

We are happy that finally we have started working on a terminal building that will bring honour, pride and glory to our nation.

    • @ Goncalves …Another Tonganyoko douchebag donkey who needs to be concaved in the grave. The articles says construction will take 4 years to complete less than diaper master HH to stop using his under 5 years. You can’t figure out what the man of action is tryn to mean to the Chinese here that they need “go like lighting” in the works. I blame you parents for restricting you to Tonga language against English.

    • @Goncalves…ulekwata respect for elders Chik-ala iway.Tom bar in your call wow- hunfwa ? Stan in your call.

    • Ingafi tuumfule ati nabaiponona ba GBM and WK cadres mu lusaka na bantu nabafwa bushe fiishinga?

Very Sad indeed if its true.

    • Modernisation of the airport is most welcome. I hope they will complete it within schedule.
Next they should invite hoteliers to construct quality hotels within 1 – 2 miles from the airport to be used by connecting passengers when the airport begins to function as a hub for central and southern Africa.

    • it seems there are two projects running at the same time according to LT but they have not made it very clear. Poor reporting. there is one project which they expect to be completed in by end 2014 and another project which is to take four years. i assume, as LT as not guided us properly, that the 2014 deadline project is the rehabilitation of what is already there, some improvements here and there and the four year deadline is entirely a new structure. Nkomesha, we dont need an airline, just concentrate on building a better airport. in fact they should even increase the money for the project so as to make it an ultra modern airport unrivaled in southern and east africa. i can promise you ,thousands of jobs will just come automatically.

    • Zambia is heading for an Ecomic boom the enemies of the State have been silenced.HE is a man of action. We salute Mr President.Yo have my vote.

    • This is an important stride in a right direction. Africa is a continent saved by the least amount of air traffic compared to other continents. This partly due to a lack of adequate infrastructure, and moves such as this one help to mitigate or rescue that situation. Now importantly we have to get the numbers right so that we don’t make a loss in the project. We must all be interested to know by how much will this development increase the capacity of KK international. Am sure it will expand and improve trade with Zambia by the outside, and this can only be good news for the future of our economy. Its sad to note that people lost their lives earlier partly in connection to this event.

    • Goncalves…! you really suck..a real waste of space. Evidence of tangible results by end of 2014 does not mean finishing the project in one year… you Muppet.! He was only asking for meaningful progress by the end of 2014. In future, try and use a bit of that thing mounted on top of your neck b4 posting…its called a head if u have one.

    • Thinking in Rands, I note that this project cost just over R3.6Billion Rands. Johannesburg’s OR Tambowas upgraded to just over twice it’s original size at a cost of R5billion! So, will the new KK International Airport be almost half the size of the current OR Tambo airport? Or have these guys pumped up these costs to accommodate their retirement packages? Only time will tell…

    • That was a ‘slip’ of the tongue naimwe, lets not make a mill out of it. We all know how hard working the Chinese are, and so far they have completed two project (stadia) well ahead of schedule and we have failed them by not doing our part (ZESCO at Lsk Stadium as well the car park, the car park and access roads also delayed Ndola Stadium commissioning).
Our concern should be on the source of the US$360 million, is the money available and who is the funder, what are the terms?
If they (govt.) had not cancelled the project when they assumed office, a lot of progress could have been made by now.

    • When Mr Sata came to Office he found architectural drawings for the proposed new Lusaka International Airport at State House and it became a major issue of corruption by the President.

Now he himself is commissioning a new Airport. This man never ceases to amaze me. Meanwhile his blind followers applaud every sign of insanity. It was the same with the Nakonde border scanners, the Napsa land and the Gold fugitive. Do you remember the national wide broadcasting licenses which never were issued?

    • Hey thats talk of a boss. They give you less time than needed so you work your ass off. Who is calling my President a maggot? Starnyoko.

    • YOU ARE A LUNATIC YOURSELF. MY FRIEND THIS IS A NEW CULTURE- EFFECTIVENESS, EFFICIENCY AND ALL. SO TO YOU THEY SHOULD LAST FOREVER THE WAY A TWO BEDROOM HOUSE LASTS 3 YEARS TO FINISH BUILDING EVEN IF ALL RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE?

    • THE PHOTOGRAPHER WAS A BIT OF AN IIDIIOOT. HE FAILED TO CAPTURE THE WHOLE MODEL AND IT WAS ONLY A MODEL. NOT A REAL LIFE STRUCTURE. WHERE IS NSAMA THE ONE WHO USED TO WORK FOR POST NEWSPAPER. HE CAN DO A SMART JOB.

    • MMMM, THE MAGGOT IS GIVING YOU AN AIRPORT WHERE YOU GONNA LAND WHEN THEY CHASE YOU FROM WHERE YOU ARE A SELF-DECLARED REFUGEE. HAVE RESPECT TO OUR PARENTS YOU MEN. SATA CAN BIRTH YOU. IN ANY CASE, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MAGGOT BUILDING ROAD AND HOSPITALS FOR CITIZENS INCLUDING IIDDIIOOTTSS SUCH AS YOU?

    • Sometimes its good to appreciate good things even if its coming from your rival (not enemy). This is for the good of the nation. Its for all Zambians to benefit, and of course non-Zambians. Atleast I will not be embarassed from my foreign in-laws whenever they visit us in Zed. Enough said. Good night everyone.

    • On this one I support Sata, but not threatening the Chinese. Imagine if Zambians in UK are told that if they don’t clean bathrooms they will be sent back to Zambia…

  2. That’s excellent news, When we leave Heathrow and arrive in Lusaka it’s like stepping back in time. Hopefully it won’t run over budget.

    • @pounds and pence,
You’ve raised a very good point but there is no doubt the project is going to run over budget by millions given the financial indiscipline in the PF GRZ. They will go on a borrowing spree.

  3. Awesome !! This is what i`m talking about.Kenneth kaunda surely needs a facelift.I feel sad every-time i use that airport because the place doesn`t inspire.Well done cobra and your group !!!

  4. Radio Phoenixs Reported PF Cadres have been killed following crashes of rival factions.. Number of dead was at least 2 at broadcast time… LT Update please, ZWD has posted something already.

    • check out the late ZNBC news, PF cadres are taking this country to a whole new level of violence. The president must act now, stop this GBM and Summer Camp before it is too late.

  5. This is far better than investments in stadiums. Now just invest in immigration & other airport personnel whose professionalism and ethics are at par with international best practices.

  6. New airport will really save us from the embarrassment we always get when landing at that cheap, bushy looking lsk airport, my Gud!!!!

  7. I gather some PF cadres have been sacrificed for this project! Great East Road has been washed with the Red blood of PF cadres! This could be a trial run for 2016. Zambians what where you thinking voting for these hoodlums? Zambia deserves a civilized government!

  8. I hope they will not be allowed to put those chinese letters they put on every building they build. I do not want to be greeted in chinese when am in my own country, Period!

  9. Regardless, of the amount, the idea of improving and updating KK International is a good gesture of development for the nation and an opportunity for business development.
As Zambians we need to put our fists down, shut up and think for a minute, the President is simply covering his bases because this is a whole lot of money and history has it where these foreign contractors, manipulate schedules and go over budget and delay, all I see is a man looking to ensure that a timely quality product is delivered as per contract.
It is simply wrong to downplay everything that the Government says and does because you dislike the leadership, try to focus on what this will mean for the nation in the long run na bana benu kutanshi. And frankly if a national airline is in the works its wise to fix…

  10. Yes pf approved to be a backward and stone age political party which beliefs in violet. If pf can raise and kill fellow members what about non members.

I can for see unprecedented political violence in our county in 2016 general elections.

IS the change zambians wanted?? Certainly NOT. We have jumped from a frying pan into scorching fire.

Reminds me of a certain someone who kept on reading “My Pet goat” to children.

    • Check your your thinking, what has a tribe got to do with you, no wonder your party is running a govt from one region point of view. PF is the most tribal party there has ever been in this country. Look at the level of violence within the party, mostly driven by not liking each other based on some regional alignment

    • Please stop, its already obvious u r an *****. So please stop. Ur pf is out there killing innocents, all because ur presido doesn’t have balls.

  14. Some people are just so blessed…. i mean he gets to see his name on all these important national Asserts before all is said and done while others only get their names engraved on a tombstone thats if they are even Lucky. Surely God almighty must have forgiven him even if those offended still take it upon themselves not to, what else can you say?

    • Its better to be idolized by emulating and living according to your ideas, principles and values….like Mandela or MLK…than to be merely idolized thru physical assets. Not to take away anything from KK he’s our founding papa, but i don’t see zedians living his ideas and dreams.

  15. Hichilema is a son of a dog, says Rupiah.
PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda on Sunday said UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is a son of a dog for allegedly likening him to a dog.

And MMD chairperson Michael Mabenga has declared that the MMD will field President Banda in the 2011 elections.

Addressing a public rally at Freedom Park in Mwinilunga, President Banda accused Hichilema of having likened him to a dog last week.

“I said I am not worried. I am like a father to him, so if I am a dog, then he is a puppy. He is a son of a dog,” President Banda said.

President Banda said in the Zambian Christian society, one could not call someone older than them derogatory names.

“Can you imagine if Hichilema became president, we will all be called dogs. If he wants to become president,…

    • Cont’d..there are better ways of doing that than insulting others,” President Banda said. “If I am a dog, he is a dog’s son.”

The interpreter then said in Lunda: “Hikana ka kawa” and President Banda responded: “Kana ka kawa. Your language here is similar to my language; nga neo ndine imbwa, yeve ni mwana wa imbwa!”

Last week in Mongu, Hichilema said if the MMD continued to go along the line of hooliganism, President Banda would be chased like a dog in 2011.

This was after MMD cadres roughed up UPND members who had gone to Mongu airport to welcome Hichilema who had travelled there to witness the Kuomboka ceremony.

  16. ANOTHER PROJECT STARTED BY RB?

GHANA RECENTLY LAUNCHED AN (MODERN) INDUSTRILISATION PROGRAMME, SO WAS KENYA.

MADALA, PLEASE FAKA SPEED UNTIL HH AND HIS FRIEND, THE PASTOR RUN OUT OF TALKING (CAMPAIGN) POINTS, COME 2016.

YOUR EFFORT WILL SURELY AND TRULY MAKE MWANAWASA’S TERMS BE JOKES.

  17. KK ,u are spot on.Some Zambians are sick. The President mustn’t listen 2 dese sick minds. They are demons who want Zambia to remain poor.Come 2016,you will cry ba upnd.Bring chaos,u will go into extinction.”Chiwamina galu?”Sata is loughing longer.

  18. No matter de insults, lies, slandar nd 0 sorts falsehood u write here ,Sata’ll remain wat GOD says he z.Not wat HH,Ruwe,Kaoma(possesed Rev.)nd other demons say.Jesus, keep Sata nd family safely.let his cup continue 2 run over as dese demons luk on!

  19. Its a good project which we all should applaud. I do not agree with views that its embarrassing 2 land in Zam whatsoever for i see such reasons as naive & stupefied. Such are the reasons we are not developed as a Country becoz most chaps are self centered.( How does one talk about pleasing his in laws when they come to Zam?). How does that fit into the benefits of this project???. Our concerns should be about what economic benefits this project will bring to Zam. With a proper Airport, we hope to see Zam becoming a center for connecting flights into other parts of the region even the rest of the world especially owing to its strategic position. Tourism is 1 of the sectors to benefit it means increase in no. of people passing thro Zam. So more prospects for the sector and many other…Gnyt.

    • Co-signed. The staff are always welcoming, polite and it gives you a warm sense of arrival. Cracking jokes with the two guys who wrap up suitcases is also part of the farewell. Some may have other experiences but that finger scan used to annoy me in the Schengen EU but makes me smile as it is so quick to get processed in Zed. Funny that.

  20. Good evening

Well done, Mr. President, you’re doing the right thing. And as you launch these projects, I hope you also take into calculation the increase in maintenance costs. A good airports is important but maintenance is just as important as construction.

We may not agree with some things the government does but let us at least acknowledge the things that clearly bring progress to the nation and that will benefit all Zambians.

HICHILEMA IS A SON OF A DOG, SAYS RUPIAH
    Tue 27 Apr. 2010, 04:10

  22. Osmore shut up no one is attacking another and mentioning names
Comment on the project without reference to HH MMD. That’s the reason
Zambia is poor worshiping your leaders instead of holding them accountable
And not being swayed by projects before they are even finished we have a long
    Way to go.

    • a paradise of increasing prices for common goods, violence within his party, wage and recruitment free, 4% salalary increaments? What are you a dreamer?

  23. Wy do sum african leaders lack brains at all.instead of using dis huge amount of money to tackle areas like electricity, good drinking water, hospitals, roads nd schools.

  24. While I do appreciate the efforts by the government, I strongly beleive that 360$ millions would have done more to the developement by fixing the roads. I don’t know the traffic at KK airport but good roads will allow produces from every corner in Zambia to reach big center. This is not a political opinion. It is good to upgrade the airport but I still beleive the roads are priority 1.

    • I can tell you have not been to Zambia in a very very very long time. you are the people who think UBZ still exists.

    • You are correct that I have not been home for a while. But, on the last comment ba Matrix you are wrong. I can tell you that I am among the rare people that read every single day on my country and call my people/family back home. When I read about road accidents, see pictures of roads being patched, it is normal for me to question the state of the roads. I think on your part, you can enlighten me which I greatly appreciate. It is all about being informed.

  25. No one will take away anything from this working president while others were busy selling companies this one is building what a contrast govt govt govt we arebehind you before the end of your term zambia will be paradise

    • Yes, yes thanks for the reminder we know those who were part of the Government in Chiluba’s era who sold state companies.

  26. It is u @China that must shut up.U DEMON!U want us 2 let u perpetuate de slandar, insults, falsehood nd oder evils u write here while we look?Say dat out dere,u will cease 2 c de sun. When i am pleased with Sata it doesn’t mean i worship him.

  27. Gon with 5 calves I am sure you are suffering from foot and mouth disease that is why your utterances against a hard-working president are as filthy as you dogi!

  28. those that are clapping their hands i can say you very very ignorant,

Does anyone remember sata throwing away drawing and planes which RB wanted to do to build a new airport soon after he was elected.

According to him, this was a waste of money especially that more Zambians sleep hungry.

Now he has picked up the plans and presenting them to the public as new idea..

It hurts alot to be Zambians, No wonder Mushota does not see any value in this country,, People are sleeping very ignorant and forget easily

    • I think RB’s idea was to build the airport using Public Private Partnership (PPP) and it is a a best practice way of building Airports in many countries nowadays. It has nothing to do with corruption. That is the model on which Kasumbalesa border post was built.

  29. The project was the brainchild of RB. And the concept of turkey building and running it for specified years is much better than outright 360,000,000 dollars borrowing from the Chinese and contract given to the chinese.

A part of the landing fee and departure fee was to be shared with Zambia government. On the face of it, there was less risk but high reward build and operate concept of RB than mortgaging the sovereignty of the country.

Sata and his minions cannot accept contruction on build and operate basis as they do not get any kickbacks from the contractors.

  30. ba LT, why didnt you take photos of the miniature model of the airport twamona. but this was RB’s project to build a new airport. i wonder if there was proper advertisement of this tender in the papers and so on. kaili the reason sata gave to stop the RB airport project was that it was not advertised. so lets not get over excited about this,as RB was also started this venture. same difference.

IMAGINE IF ALL PREVIOUS PRESIDENTS WERE SERIOUS WITH DEVELOPING MOTHER ZAMBIA

    • Boss, ukulinganya amenshi nobunga! It is a well known fact that all previous president wanted to improve the lives of their people by doing what you have outlined, but were constrained by a number of factors. Chiluba took over at a time when our economy had totally collapsed, infact there was no economy at all. He was at the mercy of donors, he did what he could with little resources. Mwanawasa was a beneficiary of a long and sustained debt forgiveness battle and consistent sound economic policies, coupled with good commodity prices on the world market. RB’s term started with the global melt down, which with the help of God we survived as a nation, then again due to adhering to and consistently applying sound economic policies he led us to where he left us. GDP growth was 0.2% in KKs…

  33. To create a regional hub you need modern airport to handle increased traffic and a national airline to boost connectivity. Without national airline, you just creat a white elephant of an airport.

  34. That’s why we are saying some minds are sick nd demonic. If RB left some gud project idears nd pf resolves 2 implement them is that wrong?Very childish indeed. Let Sata work u demons of hate. Go 2 hell where u belong.H E don’t listen 2 sick pipo.

    • Your Uncle stopped this project on a knee jerk response when he came to power. It is good to carry over previous Govt’s projects. The point people are making is that your SATA arrogantly stopped all the well intended projects initiated by the previous Govt. The other notable project was the Lunzua Hydro power project which should have been completed in 2012 but your SATA stopped it so that he can later complete it at his own time and use it for vote buying just like the airport issue. We need development but sick minds should not use our money just to suit them. Shallow minds will always fall prey to these depraved minds.

  35. the Govt should have given the construction to a Singapore company as their airport(CHangi) is the best in the world. They have also bullt a beautiful world class airport for Mauritius…
    China will let us down,…..

  36. correct me if am wrong. IS THIS NOT THE SAME PROJECT AND THAT OF BUILDING A NEW STATE HOUSE that RB was being castigated 4 that he was being so lavish and was trying 2 embezzle funds?any way, remember wen pf just got into power, wat has changed now?

    • That is Very, Very correct- Typical con-men do this kind of business. However it is good that he has realized the importance of this project. The bad news is that he has delayed our progress.

  37. @ ba kolwe tell me my dear what the reality is
The reality is that we need to move away from negativity and short-sighted thinking
Tell me how do plan to boost tourism depending on foreign airlines? Who said we can not run a national airline? Is it because Zambia airways fail? If you fall it’s part of life, but to fail to get up after falling is the real failure.
For once my dear Zambians lets think positively. It’s not rocket science to creat a regional aviation hub, Ethiopia has done it, Kenya is in line, RSA is there; what is it that these countries have that we do not have. We don’t have resources? We don’t have educated people? We can’t think? We are content with mediocrity and want to hide in the shackles of reality?

  38. This plan was hatched by MMD govt and there is nothing PF govt can show about it. What PF govt should have done is to continue where MMD left and yell the nation exactly that which makes sense since MMD is no longer in power now.
Many known projects left by MMD need to be completed without political partisanship. The air port project would have been completed by now had PF simply verified it and continue but instead PF govt politicized the whole issue and to date when we visit mother Zambia KK airport still looks like a makeshift landing pad. Do not politicize development just get on with the work. Tired of giving us beans, 90 days deceptions. Finish that project well without deceiving Zambians.

    • This is the point, this man SATA even mentioned that it was not a priority when he came to power 2011). The only difference now is that he has given it to the Chinese who he spoke ill off when he was in opposition. The previous Govt gave this same contract to Turkish Co. Two years down the line the man has waken up and sees it as important as we thought thought then- Good but you have delayed our progress.

  39. Whilst you are expanding the airport, please update the VIP lounge. That furniture is from pre 1964 and horrendous!! I find it hard to believe that this is something nobody has thought of, considering the fact that these ministers are flying all over the world and using other countries VIP lounges which are all ship shape. Even more embarrassing for visiting dignitaries to have to be taken there. It like an extension of a compund.

  40. Well, well, well, at least the party in power didn’t have to wait for 2016 to start developmental projects as in the past. This will not only be the platform on which we can then think of owning a National Carrier but it will also create opportunities for jobs and businesses…This was obviously the first priority; not coming up with an airline…that is for later! Let us first develop our infrastructure…that is the bedrock for developement. Kudos to PF on this one!

  41. Ba lusakatimes who is telling the truth, you report to say works to be completed by 2014, then the post that dig deeper say october, 2017 please be factual.

  42. This pf government is shamless, they want to take credit for things they didn’t plan for,I challenge any govt minister or indeed the president himself to tell the nation when the started planning for these projects, sourced the funding and tabled it it a budget, the airport expansion project is a brain child of the mmd govt,a govt tht had a clear vision for the future of this nation, even the roads, mobile clinics were all political projects when pf was in opposition today they are praising mobile hospitals and taking credit for road projects they have no idea about.pf is just a party tht has no direction ,it a group of violent cadres who kill each other.chimba chanda was right,

  43. ceGood airport idea. But do we need a presidential terminal to be used by the president and ministers only on such a big piece of land covering 4,000m2. The president and vvips certainly privacy but do u need a terminal for that. An airport is a transit point and not an office to take up such amount of space. The presidential terminal idea is a complete miss. lts typical of african thinking claing to be socialists but acting in total contradiction creating a class nation. l wld be interested to find out whether it was Cabinet’s idea or some work of an over-zealous goverment official. The PF government should walk the talk and tlk the walk. The PF govermet should not be extravagant. Remember that they throw out Lupiya’s new State House plan on account of extravagance. Keep your own word.

  44. I hate when every discution has to involve tribe… Why not consider every opinion as personal and not from what tribe is the person… Good as the development is, most of you people seem to be from outside the country and you r looking at things from were you are based.. Now you should know that one major reason to why we are less developed is because we want to please others more than ourselves…. Thing is that there is a very huge gap that needs to be filed in before we can talk about improvement of the airport…. Now dont get me wrong, truth is that am happy with the development aswel… Take time to find out how such things came about in other countries… Lets share ideas for a better zambia people.. Get me on whatsapp on 0977718191 for knowledge xchange.
    Kind regards
    Dean

  45. What really takes me aback is that when a good thing happens, those who are against the PF govt want to attribute that success to former govnt but when prices of fuel or mealie alours the blame is on the PF govnt. This is not playing double standards? I think lets give credit where its due regardless of who is in govnt.
