PF needs soul searching to survive – Lungu

Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu says the survival of the ruling Patriotic Front depends on a soul searching exercise and eradication of all bad seeds in the party before it is choked.

Mr Lungu says the PF risks being contaminated by the bad seeds in the party which will eventually choke and kill the party by making it more unpopular.

He says the same crooks who infiltrated UNIP and MMD are same ones who are trying to make the ruling party unpopular as they did with the two former ruling parties leading to their ejection from power.

Mr Lungu who is also PF disciplinary committee Chairman says the ruling party is aware that a good number of people who are causing problems in the ruling party are the same ones who caused problems in MMD, leading to party being unpopular.

Responding to a question in Parliament today by Lupososhi Member of Parliament, Lazarous Chungu, who wanted to know whether Police are taking care of the possibility that there could be infiltration of the PF by cadres from other political party taking advantage of the wrangles in the party, Mr Lungu said such a possibility cannot be ruled out.

And Mr Lungu says Police are still pursuing the masterminds of last week’s intraparty violence in the PF in which one person was killed and several others injured.

  1. Bwana Lungu, your boss the president is one such bad seed. He has been in UNIP and MMD. While a member of these parties he instigated and promoted violence. He is actually the one who has imported this violence to your dying PF party

    • The other problem is that politicians are very quick to parade criminals, who defect to their parties. It was the case during UNIP (prior to one-party state), MMD and now PF. UPND were quick to parade William Banda months after he had battered UPND members during the 2011 election campaigns. Last year, we saw a criminal who threatened to harm Edith Nawakwi and facing charges of assault in another case being welcomed into the PF. Obviously he joined PF with the hope of being shielded like we saw with Gabriel Namulambe and Musamba.

    • GBM never been in UNIP, MMD (hoo yes he was, lost to Given Lubinda).
The tone of the sober Lungu is pointing at Kabimba, who was fired in MMD, fired ZRP, that Kabimba I think mwana-wa-ndoshi.
And I really wonder why that man with wrong color, Scott, got involved with Kabimba. Why don’t he let Zambian fight their fight, what does Scott knows about totems?

    • I demand a PF Cabinet & MCC meeting live on TV, to discuss why Moses, the cadre who is reported killed in the PF fight was secretly buried.
      There should be live-TV investigation…

    • We need a public arrest for you guys and hang this you along cairo road to send a clear message that people can not bury like a chicken

  2. Do you still remember the Kadobi of chawama. it is the same sata who was giving those guys guns to cause confusion. so it is sata at the helm of the panga guys. But don’t forget what goes up one day it will head down. Be nice to people on your way up for you will need them on your way down.

  3. i find this guy edger to be a very sincere person, its only that he is in a very long party. And he cant oppose much he can lose his job. if we had 10 such people in pf, it could be a very good party.

  4. Mr Lungu the longer you take to flush out thd people causing confusion in your partye more unpopular the PF is becoming and it will be very difficult for you guys in 2016!!Most people are frustrated and think the PF is a violent party.Zambians are not violent people and if you dont clean your house now you will yourselves to blame if people kick you out of power sooner than you expect!!PEOPLE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED INDEED!!

  5. “Mr Lungu says Police are still pursuing the masterminds of last week’s intraparty violence in the PF in which one person was killed and several others injured”.

DECENT MEMBERS OF THE RULING PARTY AND INNOCENT MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN GENERAL MAY TEND TO AGREE WITH THE SENTIMENTS OR ALLEGATIONS AS EXPRESSED BY MR CHIKWELETE IN THE POST TODAY THAT THE POLICE WERE NOT OPERATING PROFESSIONALLY.

WHY HAVE THEY NOT YET ISSUED A WARRANT OF ARREST AGAINST MR KOMAKI, THE SO CALLED ACTING LUSAKA DISTRICT CHAIRMAN, ON HIS HOSPITAL BED FOR MOUNTING AN ILLEGAL CHECK POINT ALONG A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE?

WHOSE ORDERS OR WHAT OTHER EVIDENCE ARE THEY STILL WAITING OR LOOKING FOR?

  6. “He says the same crooks who infiltrated UNIP and MMD are same ones who are trying to make the ruling party unpopular as they did with the two former ruling parties leading to their ejection from power.”
As the Minister of Home Affairs, can you PLEASE:
    1. give us the names of “crooks” and
    2. are you trying to say that people of Zambia did reject previous UNIP and MMD Governments because they been influenced by the “crooks”?
Please, stop insulting people intelligence with statements made in order to please boneheads.

  7. I am very disappointed by the way the Government is so relaxed at issues that need urgent attention.Mr president you have no excuse bt all tools to bring this nonsense in your party to a complete stop.i don’t understand why my Sata has degenerated to this unacceptable level of tolarrance.Pur your foot down and for once lets see some chaps fired from Govt…you know them take action my boss.

  8. Kaminamisa, be careful! Are you refering to Sata? He was a Governer in UNIP and a Senior Minister in MMD.

  9. If the insiders like Lungu are in agreement that the fortunes are turning upside down on PF. Then things are on a steep slope and a lot of energy and planning will be required to stop the boat from going down the water falls.
