The Long awaited oxygen machine has finally arrived at the university Teaching Hospital (UTH).
UTH Public relations officer Mwenya Mulenga told Q fm in an interview that the machine arrived today at about 10hours.
Mr. Mulenga says the equipment has already been offloaded and awaiting installation which is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
He adds that the testing of the machine to ascertain whether it is safe for use will then follow before it becomes fully operational.
Last year, the government released funds for the purchase of a new oxygen plant for the largest hospital in the country to replace the old plants that suffered constant breakdowns.
A WORKING GVT. SHAME TO MMD. THESE ARE THE THINGS THEY WERE FAILLING TO DO. BRAVO PF. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE UNDER 5, HE WILL HAVE NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT. SATA MWAUME!!!!
That machine was a donation which would have been delivered even if Zambia was ruled by a dog.
Nothing special at all.
How can they announce that machine has arrived, when the receipient MRS. Ngoshe is outside country?

KABILI HE IS A MAN OF ACTION KING COBRA
Ubukopo, you think the money came from Sta’s pocket? That is pure ignorance,In Botswana the government built state of the art hospitals in major districts.People were not praising the ruling party because that is their duty. They shouldn’t behave as if the citizens owe them a living
Just what we need to hear.
“…to replace the old plants that suffered constant breakdowns”
I wonder what happened to people on life support during breakdowns……departure lodge for sure
oranje91, the same way it happens to people in USA without healthcare insurance. Just a joke bro. There are other stocks in other hospitals . Good news for Zambian people
Is this news?
@ Wanzelu
Your insult! “The machine was a donation which would have been delivered even if Zambia was ruled by a dog any way….”
But someone with an overflow of nzelu says, “Last year, government RELEASED FUNDS for the purchase of a new oxygen plant for the largest hospital in the country to REPLACE the old plants that suffered constant breakdowns.”
The people Luapula say, “We would rather be ruled by a dog than millionaire who tend to hide and bury donated money in the ground.”
Good news. Let’s hope we shall now see people survive when they are put on those oxygen cylinders bcoz the trend has been that once one is put on that machine, you can bid them farewell! And let us also bear in mind the fact that this being a machine it shall require scheduled maintenance otherwise we shall be singing a different song after about 12 months of its use. When are the other hospitals around the country getting similar machines seeing as Zambia is not only Lusaka?!! WE WANT TO KNOW!!!!
MMD ordered the machine and not Pa Fiwa..why do u like lying
University of Zambia is older than our young democracy and yet we have to rely on foreign imports to keep our oldest health institution breathing. What kind of people do we have in government? Zambia has never recovered from the village mentality of spending all you have and leaving your children to fend for themselves. it is heart breaking to read articles of such contradiction. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to establish that under investment in education and health is killing this nation of ours. How do these people sleep at night? One wonders.
I don’t think this should be big news. Shouldn’t UTH already have this machine.
Now more people will die — oxygen is the go to recommendation when anyone falls ill.
