FODEP Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi and his two co-accused Richard Sakala and Simon Mwanza both of the Daily Nation newspaper have appeared for mention in the Lusaka magistrate court .
This is in the case in which the trio were charged for publication of a false article in the Daily Nation of 10 December, 2013.
The trio have been charged for publication of false information with intent to cause fear and alarm to the public contrary to section 67(1) of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
This is in mater in which MacDonald Chipenzi, Richard Sakala who is proprietor of the Daily Nation newspaper and his Production Editor Simon Mwanza have been jointly charged for publication of a false article on December 10, 2013 in the Daily nation Newspaper that can cause fear and alarm to the nation.
The trio pleaded not guilty to the charge of publication of a false article in the Lusaka Magistrate Court on December 10 this year.
Commencement of trial in the matter which came for mention before Magistrate William Banda has been set for January 10, 2014.
