The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has refuted media reports that it is shielding some Cabinet Ministers in the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) procurement investigations.
ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono, has charged that the Commission does not, and will not shield anyone in the on-going FISP procurement investigations.
Mr Moono said the ACC is professionally carrying out its investigations to establish the facts relating to the procurement process of the fertilisers.
In a statement issued to the media in Lusaka today, Mr Moono was reacting to a news headline titled “ACC Shielding of Corrupt Ministers” carried in today’s Daily Nation Newspaper.
The article was attributed to Mwandi Member of Parliament, Michael Kaingu, with reference to the current investigations on the procurement of the fertiliser under the FISP programme.
Mr Moono said the Commission will bring to book any culpable person regardless of his/her position in government once
mr Imono, what you are saying is different from what we are seeing. are you implying that we are not seeing properly or you just assumed we are gullible?
ACC has lost all credibility and no statement can change that. What can change the lost credibility would be for ACC to conclude and prosecute just ONE, not two but one case of a sitting high govt official and thats it. Not statements ACC, but ACTION.
Well said Matipa n Euro!
ACC making a political statement designed to make it look relevant to the appointing authority. Do not just YAP, act bwana…!
