Government has called on Church Mother bodies to strictly scrutinize Pastors in the country in order to protect unsuspecting members of the public from imposters.
Speaking during the official opening of the Inter denominational national Pastors workshop in Lusaka today, Home Affairs Minister, Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula said government is aware of some churches that are not compliant with the requirement of laws such as submitting annual returns with the Registrar of Societies.
Dr. Simbyakula said government is also aware of some church leaders that have tarnished the image of the church by conducting themselves at variance with the Christian teachings.
Dr. Simbyakula added that government attaches great importance to the partnership with the church in resolving various social challenges the people face.
He said the church has always been a source of hope, solace, a mirror of good morals and unity for any community of people.
Dr. Simbyakula has since appealed to church leaders to preach peace, unity and love to the people and members of the various congregations.

Leave the churches alone please. How much money they have or haven’t is none of your business. You surely should be shown the exit come 2016.
Bad political move to some…..but sometimes you have to wonder what these pastors agendas are. Many a fraudulent. ..all over the world and they prey on desperate people. As long as it doesn’t turn out to be about weeding out those who aren’t “aligned”. Someone just realised who the people really listen to.
Brain cell you sound like you are a part of the axis of evil.
It is politicians who needed to be scrutinised first for lying and stealing tax payers’ money. Because the church is for a people driven constitution and the fact that there are so many churches (most zambians are christians), PF is afraid as the church in general has forged an alliance with CSOs, opposition parties to demand for a people driven constitution. God is on our side.
“Council of Churches dismayed by the hostility exhibited by
President Sata towards a catholic Bishop”.
The man has even stopped going to church and has thrown away the 10 commandments.Especially thou shalt not lie.
The issue of impostors is with PF MPs and ministers who have been called useless by their own boss and us the general public we agree after observing their fruits.
Our GOD is a CONSUMING FIRE. Tell your boss that.
